FIFA 12 Formation Tips: The Best Formations
The best formation is: 4-1-2-1-2(2). Next to it you may set your team formation to 4-4-1-1(1) or 4-4-1-1(2). If you are looking for a very defensive formation in FIFA 12, I would suggest you to choose: 5-3-2 or 5-4-1(1). Make sure you place your players in the position depending on your selected formation. The defending players should show in YELLOW colors in the graph, midfielders GREEN, attackers BLUE. Otherwise the players who have wrong colors, won’t have their full performance and skills in the game.

Defending, Calling the Goalkeeper in One-on-One Situation (Online mode)

Bringing the goalie off his line to face the attacker is a good defending technique in one-on-one situations but it could be risky as well. The attacker can easily dribble the keeper, pass the ball to a teammate who’s running parallel with him, or simply chip shot and send the ball to back of the net over the keeper’s head. As an attacker, this situation could be also stressful as they have to be quick otherwise the defenders reaching them from behind. This is the key, as a goalie, you need to make the attackers confused, so they would not be sure what they want to do (either chip shot of direct shot or pass the ball to a teammate). You should know when to bring your keeper forward and when to send him back (when to press the calling button and when to release it). It should be very tricky, you should read your opponent decision beforehand, for example bring forward your goalie halfway but once you feel the attacker wants to chip shot, you should release the button so the keeper stops going forward but going back to his line instead to prevent the goal. Timing and pushing/releasing the calling button (Q) are very important. Again, bring the goalie halfway and release the button to 1) buy time 2) make attacker confused 3) prevent his shots (esp: chip shots).

please bring back loung mode.y players run faster when u not controllong them but as soon as u switch them on they stop and attacking player gets more ground on u

Seems the computer also kicks it up a notch in the final minutes. Unrealistically so.
Fifa 13 needs to have a better career mode,, still alot of things missing.. You should be able to offer other clubs a player and cash in transfer market… Youth system could be doing with an upgrade aswell

how come fifa 12 in manager mode we have to play it by ourself not the cpu. suppose let the cpu play the game for us.. we just organize and manage the team only.. and fifa 12 there no tackling action in the game play by cpu itself..
I have a tip, I don’t suggest using it other than for getting the silly accomplishments. Most people may have realised it but if you change your User game settings you can make your shots more powerful, more accurate, players run faster and pass more accurately. You can make your keeper awesome and your opponent’s keeper pathetic. Make your opponents slower, their passes and shots slower and less accurate.
Like I said though, it shouldn’t be a permanent change because it’s only fun beating the CPU on Legendary with a score of 28-0 once or twice.
Needless to say, I’m not saying do it, I’m just saying it’s there to change if you want less of a challenge sometimes…
does this apply when u r playing online too?
I’d like to know if those setting changes affects when ur playing online. Friend of mine is killing me lately playing with the Milan, seems that his players run way faster that mine and his keeper is almost impossible to score. I play with barcelona.
He can use custom rosters if he send you the invite. Maybe he maxed the stats on all his players haha.
Stop complaining about the defending. Just because YOU suck at it, doesn’t make the game bad. Anyone with a functioning brain can use the Tactical Defending if you try it properly, it’s actually more effective than Legacy.
P.S, Get the rights for the Champions League you fools!!!

Everybody complaining about the fifa12 defending most probly just held X in fifa 11 and the player did the rest… How is that fun, so predictable and easy. I want a challenge when playing, i want to lose from time to time to make it interesting, why play the game when you know ur gona win, cumon man…!

Fifa 12 is bulls***. First things first, why the heck did they remove the Nigeria team? That’s the most retarded thing ever. Secondly, defending in FIfa 12 is so stupid and unrealistic. You just can’t seem to get close to the players, and they made Madrid’s keepers ridiculously fanatastic! It is virtually impossible to score goals with Madrid’s keepers! Again, True Balls are s***. They’re almost impossible to pull through, and the players behave funny at times. Also, the PC version is just too resource demanding and lags a lot; even on high-end PCs (2.8Ghz and above) with cards above 800MB! I wouldn’t advice anyone to get the PC version. Those guys at EA just assume everyone can afford high-end PCs, please try tuning your requirements realistically, Please! Geez!

relax go to fifa settings and turn off vsync and try and get game booster or tune utilities to turn off all other progams before u play the game that will solve lagging

Not only the through pass sucks, even the auto switch is crap. Even when you’re attacking, it auto switches to your defender! Is Fifa 12 only about defending?

Am I the only one who thinks that playing as Real, Barca, City and Bayern is a massive kop out. All these teams seem to get a boost so that the players can do things their stats say they can’t. I’m talking rapid, slick finishing defenders. Super accurate crosses for any player. Am I the only one to notice this, or am I just bitter.
Quite the opposite for me. In career mode, I have noticed that when I play my Fulham team (average player rating: 74), I have no trouble defending or scoring in pro difficulty. When I play my City team (average player rating: 87), it’s as if the other teams in the league play better against me, even if I lower the difficulty to semi-pro. I have also noticed that raising the difficulty seems to lower the AI skill for your team more than raise the AI skill of the opposing team. For example, when playing on Pro difficulty, many of my players never seem to be in the right position to take or defend a cross. (this is strictly based on offline play against the AI)

pro is way better in every possible way. the good points of fifa are stolen from the days when pro wiped the floor with fifa. get a grip you smeg heads, if all u care about is the strips then fair enough but other than that the gameplay of pro is so much better, games online and against friends are intense on pro, fifa is booooooooooring

FIFA 12 is sick. First pass assist is crap, second the defending makes no sense- how come u can NEVER get close to a player to tackle? That’s not reality hello. Thirdly, striker reaction is so slow. I want my money back!

I believe EA Sports does not own the rights for the Champions League, Konami does.
Ea sports does not own the rights for Chammpions league so fifa named it champions cup instead but this can only be played in career mode(as far as i know)
everytime i get used to freekicks next fifa comes out , this is pretty useful tho thank you , i like the defending in this one its a lot trickier but better in my opinion . carrer mode its difficult on world class now , computer runs rings round you its so annoying , it would be nice to be able to manage an international in fifa 12 and not make us pay for again like they do with the world cup and euro games that come out …b***s

By the looks of your spelling I’m guessing you’re still at school. The game can’t be the same it just gets boring they update it all the time. Make it more difficult. More to do. More to think about. You don’t see GTA with the same story line in a different city with different guns. You’d get bored of the story line.

Gives you more of a thrill when you score that perfect goal. Or that goal that takes you to the next round of the cup. First fifa I’ve jumped out if my chair for scoring!
To all who can’t use the new defending system.
Go to controller settings… scroll down till the last option. It will say something like tactical defending, just change it to legendary and ur defending should be as fifa11
I want them to put the WorldCup in Fifa 13. In manager mode, so you can manage a selection, all the rest is ok.

i have both pes12 and fifa 12 and to tell u the truth fifa 12 is way better in every way.
all the people that don’t like the new defending system just admit it, its because your crap at the game, its a big improvement, I found it slightly difficult to get used to it also but after just a few exhibition matches it become normal now playing on world class difficulty getting comfortable wins, So its simple instead of whining about it just put in a little effort and you to can be as good as me.

Worst hail I was ever in was 13 years ago-I know buaecse it was the summer before the s&h was born-some of you will remember it was the year of the St Peter tornado or the straightline winds that decimated so many roofs and trees in St Paul.The hail in Decorah was probably golfball sized and level of hardness. Bald men got bruised heads from it and my porch door window was broken. A couple of weeks later, I had moved to St Paul and in another storm, the power line ended up falling across Grand Avenue, right out my front door. Power company came and put up a sawhorse to deter drivers, but I did see one intrepid woman get out of her car and move the roadblock so she could drive under the felled power line.Fortunately, I did not have to call the people who give out the Darwin Awards.

Wow a lot of us are impressed with the changes from FIFA 11. It became so predictable…just play it and get used to it and I’m sure you’ll adapt to appreciate the intelligence of FIFA 12
