GOALS - Swaps

GOALS Swaps

Swaps in GOALS let you submit player cards that meet a displayed set of requirements and receive a player pack in return. The feature gives unused cards a purpose and creates another route for improving your collection without selling every unwanted player.

Every Swap should be evaluated separately. Its entry criteria, required cards, and reward pack can change, so always read the live requirements and inspect the reward before confirming a submission. Once submitted, the selected players leave your club and cannot be recovered through the Swap screen.

WHAT ARE GOALS SWAPS?

Swaps are collection exchanges. You place a required number of eligible player cards into a submission, complete every condition shown by that Swap, and receive the advertised pack after confirmation.

The feature was originally available through the GOALS Companion App and was added directly to the game in update 0.50.0. GOALS described it as a way to trade lower-tier player cards for better packs. The official beginner guide also recommends retaining packed players so they can later be used in Swap submissions.

Swaps are not player-to-player trading. You are exchanging cards with the game for a predefined reward, not negotiating with another user or choosing a specific player from somebody else's club.

How to Complete a Swap

  1. Open the Swaps area in GOALS or the Companion App.
  2. Select an available Swap and review its requirements.
  3. Check the reward pack before adding any players.
  4. Select player cards from your collection that satisfy every condition.
  5. Review the completed submission and remove any card you want to keep.
  6. Confirm the Swap to permanently submit the selected cards.
  7. Claim and open the reward pack.

Do not confirm based only on the card's current overall rating. Check age, potential range, remaining upgrades, preferred and secondary positions, rarity, and whether the player fills a useful squad role.

SWAP REQUIREMENTS

A Swap can require cards that match particular criteria. The exact recipe shown in the active menu is the rule that matters. Do not assume that a card count or reward remembered from an earlier build still applies.

What to Check
  • The total number of player cards required
  • The permitted or required rarity tier
  • Any rating or card-quality conditions
  • Whether retired players are eligible
  • The reward pack granted on completion
GOALS Rarity Tiers
Rarity Overall Rating Card Colour
Basic40–59Grey
Common60–69Silver
Uncommon70–79Green
Rare80–84Blue
Epic85–89Purple
Legendary90–94Orange
Mythic95–99Gold

Rarity is based on overall rating, but two cards in the same tier can have very different ages, potential ranges, attributes, and positional value. Rarity alone is therefore not enough to decide whether a player should be submitted.

GOALS Swap Rewards

Completing a Swap awards the pack displayed in its reward panel. Opening that pack generates new player cards according to the pack's contents and probabilities. A Swap improves your opportunity to obtain useful cards, but it does not guarantee that the returned players will fit your formation or outperform every submitted card.

Check the pack name, number of players, minimum quality, and any displayed probability information before submitting. Treat the reward preview as the contract: if the menu does not promise a particular rating, position, potential, or player type, do not assume it is guaranteed.

WHICH PLAYERS SHOULD YOU SUBMIT?

Good Swap Candidates
  • Duplicate squad profiles that offer no meaningful tactical alternative
  • Players who are clearly behind several options in the same position
  • Cards with limited remaining development that you do not plan to use
  • Retired players you do not want to convert into Legends
  • Eligible low-sale-value cards being deliberately saved for submissions
Players to Review Carefully
  • Young cards with a wide or high potential range
  • Players with several upgrades remaining
  • Cards covering multiple preferred or secondary positions
  • Specialists with attributes that suit a specific role despite a modest overall rating
  • Favorites, active squad members, and hard-to-replace bench cover

The safest method is to mark important cards as favorites, build the submission from the bottom of your collection, and perform a final card-by-card review before confirming.

GOALS Swaps or Selling?

Swapping and selling solve different problems. Selling converts a player into GOALS Points, while a Swap converts a group of qualifying players into a pack. The better choice depends on the live reward, the sale value of the cards, and what your club needs.

Choose Swaps When Choose Selling When
You already have enough eligible unused cardsYou need Points for packs, upgrades, or another immediate cost
The reward pack is valuable for your current collectionThe submitted cards have a strong combined sale value
You want another chance at players with different profilesThe Swap reward does not justify losing the required cards
The cards have little squad value and a low sale returnYou prefer a predictable currency return over pack randomness

For a precise comparison, add together the sale value of every required card and compare it with the reward pack's usefulness to your club. Remember that a pack has uncertain contents, while selling provides a known amount of currency.

RETIRED PLAYERS AND SWAPS

Retired players remain in your club but can no longer take part in matches. GOALS provides three main options for them: use them in Swaps, sell them for Points, or complete the required upgrades and convert them into Legends.

Before submitting a retired player, decide whether their final rating, attributes, characteristics, or sentimental value justify a Legend conversion. A Swap is permanent, whereas a Legend remains available for selection after conversion.

GOALS Swaps in the Companion App

Swaps can be managed from the GOALS Companion App on supported iOS and Android devices. This allows you to review your collection, assemble eligible submissions, and claim packs away from the main game.

Because Swaps were available in the Companion App before their in-game introduction, the interface may differ between platforms. The same safety rule applies on both: verify the selected cards and reward immediately before confirmation.

GOALS SWAPS FAQ

Are Swaps the same as trading with another player?

No. A Swap is a predefined exchange with the game. It does not send your cards to another user's club.

Can submitted players be recovered?

Treat every submission as permanent. Remove favorites and valuable prospects before confirming.

Do Swaps guarantee a higher-rated player?

Only the contents explicitly stated by the reward pack are guaranteed. Do not assume a higher rating, better potential, or specific position unless the active reward description says so.

Should I sell or Swap an unwanted player?

Compare the player's sale value, the full cost of the Swap submission, and the advertised pack. Selling is predictable; a Swap returns a pack with uncertain player results.

Can retired players be used in Swaps?

Yes. GOALS officially lists Swaps as one of the available uses for retired players.

Are Swap recipes permanent?

Do not rely on an old recipe. Requirements and rewards may be adjusted as GOALS develops, so use the criteria displayed in the current game or Companion App.
