Central Midfielder

A Central midfielder or a centre midfielder (CM) is a midfield player whose role is to play equally between attack and defence and to dominate the play in the centre of the pitch.

Central midfielders are supposed to pass the ball to their attacking midfielders (CAM) and forwards and may also help their forwards by making runs into the opposition's penalty box and attempting shots to score goals themselves.

Types

There are two types of central midfielder:

Box-to-box midfielder
