Your Ideas for FIFA 09

we should be able to import our faces like pro evo 2008.
we should have a career as a made up character or a player we choose so we can join new clubs have offers and choose career choise in the new years.
i know your not going to take this into account but if you do everyone says it will be awesome!!!!

on online game modes. normally once you start a game with a person and the player quits the game it doesn't count as a win. so in the new game i would like to see if the player quits the game it ounts a loss for the person that quit and the game counts for a win for the person that didn't quit. this is only fair!

I would like to see the top four make more of a challenge for the premiership while playing season. While I play through premiership season the top four would do badly and even on few ocasions liverpool/chelsea/arsenal/man utd would get relegated. Now i no u try to make ur games as life like as possible but i dont reckon that any of the top four would or ever will get relegated.

To try and avoid this i would edit most of the top fours squads to their maximum stats so they would win most of their matches but it doesnt work. So if any could be improved i would like to see the top four put up more of a fight for the title.


One improvement i would also like to see is if ur competing with any1 like if ur in a relegation battle u could get match reports in the match just to see how the other teams are doing who are also fighting to avoid relegation (same goes for top four places, uefa places etc...) I no that this feature was put into fifa 2006 world cup and i thoroughly enjoyed seeing how the other teams were doing so i would like to see this come to fifa 09

make the difficulty levels even for both cpu and human players. amatuer and semi pro are decent, but then it gets waay to hard. when u actually watch it, not team plays that fast and that unnaturally, sure some teams make good passes and crosses, it seems like the cpu never gets tired and all they do is sprint. its ridiculous. the difficulty level changes both the cpu and human.

i just noticed the change in difficulty level. at first when others were complaining of it, i thought to myself, it couldnt be that bad....well.. it is. it is ridiculously hard when you get to professional and beyond. after semi pro, the teams are all injected with adrenaline for the entire game, and you have a 67 rated player, easily outrunning, out playing, out tricking, a player like ronaldinho. its terrible. the teams play unnaturally fast and dont make mistakes.

make the next level to where you have to make a quicker pass every now and then, not to when you need to break the r2 button trying to get your guy to run faster, when the 67 rated player hes covering outruns him just because of the difficulty level is higher

EA: please try to get that in between level ,otherwise people lose interest because they cant even make a simple pass. the first two level are fine but then. whoooooo. my goalie is working harder than my midfielder. please change it.

I would like to be able to create my own club in ps3 for manager mode have real sponsors for teams like man u change the team kit on a regular basis players that are over 85 to go to big clubs not small clubs and for create a player to have more hair styles goal celebrations and to be able to pick your club while creating the player and to have more realistic gameplay like in a real soccer game and teams should be able to swap players and recall from loans

It would be great if you add the Israeli League and the Peruvian First Division. Also, please change the dull/tense Mexican narration/commentating to a more exciting narration to the game like the Peruvian, Chilean, or the Argentinian do. Finally, if you can't add more South American leagues then at least have preset tournaments of Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. Thank you.

1. Before the game you should have the comentators and a guest eg. andy gray, martin tyler and jamie redknapp like on sky sports and should have them talking about the game.
2. When the players are coming out of the tunnel you should have the referee, the linesmen, and the children mascots. And in rivale matches you might have the occasianal fight or slap.
3. for arena mode you should be able to chose wether you want a teamate with you, or if you want to play against someone (this should be available in 2 player mode aswell) you should have a proper goalkeeper, rather than someone nobody knows with no. 99
4. In manager mode should be able to have proper sponsors which give more money, and the sponsor you choose should comeout on your shirt.
5. In manager mode you should be allowed to walk around the changing room giving players there instructions, if there is a foul in the penalty box and the foul is not given the manager should either shout at the referee or talk to the linesmen or get really frustrated and kick the training bucket, the manager could also be able to be seen while playing aswell as the referee and linsemen, the manager could be handed touchline banns.
6. when you do a foul you should be able to choose whether you would like to fight the player like in nhl 08, or if you want to help the player up.
7. when you create a player you shouldbe given enough experience points to make his overall at least 80. You should be able to choose if you want his shirt to be medium rather than short or long eg. C. Ronaldo. the same with socks. If player has an injury on their wrist could be seen on bench during match between fouls and throwins with arm in sling, cruthces, etc. International managers, club managers, players who are injured or are being rested, celebrities could be seen in crowd eg.when announcer says ladies and gentlemen gordon brown is in the stadium.
8. There should also be a be a pro season mode where you are eithere a made up player or a real player . and rather than just having an outline of a made up player be able to use camera to put picture of made up person. In be a pro season mode you should be able to go to the training ground, and if you peform well you get picked for the match if you don't peform to good your a sub, and if you peform really poor you should be rested and be able to go into the stands and watch the game from there as said above. Rather than having questions like in manager mode you should be interviwed, and if you become man of the match you can be interviwed and open the bottle of champagne and celebrate in changing room. If the player has a problem has a problem off the pitch can to talk to manager.
9. when your a manager be able to attend press conferences, create your own manager, rather than getting a new stadium manager choose wether you want to move ground or change the original one.
10. could have fan running across pitch, or squirells . The crowd should look realistic rather than looking like pieces of cardboard. Should jump up when you score, should where team jersey (not just the jersey of that season) fans should waving scarfs like in Anfield.
11. There should be a lot more injuries, because right now injuries are like once a season. When they do get injured and can't play on they should be carried off by stretcher. the stretcher could be dropped occasionally. The fans could be booing when player gets injured.

I really don't understand why isn't the argentinian league in FIFA... i can't uderstand!!!
It is one of the best in the world, is the league that "exports" talents to europe, like Messi, Aguero, Tevez, Crespo, Cruz, Zanetti, Gago, etc etc etc... also is one of the better countries in football and this sports is the most popular in the country. Russian league? Scotland? Korean? i really don't understand... please, put the argentinian league.

but there is some improvements on FIFA 08.
1. play keeper on 5on5.
2. 11on11 play.
3. add Look around button on pro view or custom pro view.
4. more useful select team like pes.
5. I would like to play pro football players life.
on be a pro, management mode, league mode. i would like to play only one player.
or play only management. don't play game. real management.

FIFA 08 is a wonderful football game.
i hope more exacting in FIFA 09.

1. A trick system more similar to fifa 99. Being able to vary your trickery unlike the newest ps2 one where you can only do about 3 moves. I know people in real life don't really trick but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get the chance.
2. Have more variations on the create a player like better hairstyles. The hairstyles on the ones that are out are s***e. They look like rats nesting.
3. Bring back the old indoor 5 aside game from fifa 97 and possibly others I don't remember but that was proper good fun.
4. Better long range shots, like fifa 07, that system was perfect.
5. A freekick system more like the one on fifa 03 and others. It's a more realistic way to take freekicks. Maybe with a power bar to make it a bit more of a challenge.
6. The ability to do overhead kicks. I don't know if you can do them on the new ones but I never have. Or at least make it stylistic to score from crosses at the moment it's just a bit too hit or miss.

1) Make it easier for Goalies to take free-kicks and penalties. For some reason FIFA does not allow my GK to take all of the free kicks and penalty shots. Every time I play with Sao Paulo, I want Rogerio Ceni to take my free kicks and penalty kicks.

2) Please allow other players on the team to take Goal Kicks. Goalies are not the only players who take goal kicks.

3) There are great South American National Teams and Clubs that need to be represented in the game. Colombian teams, Uruguayan teams, Paraguayan teams, Chilean teams, etc.

4) We need better / realistic fancy moves and dummies. We need one button to perform a dummy like in Fifa 2006.

5) Please Make the better players get pass defenders eaiser than average & bad players. It seems to me when I am Brazil facing a bad team the Defenders always take the ball away from my best offensive players. That is not realistic and not good at all.


6) Stadium editors would be nice

please please include, th blue square premier, or some non league sides this time around

I believe that FIFA 08 is not taking full advantage of the "Next Gen" consoles with only player’s faces and bodies really being improved from the older generation consoles.

The idea of players taking at least a second to react to the ball can be rather frustrating for the people playing as this is nothing like a real life football player. Also when talking of players there seems to be still that straight line running technique. For example the ball may be on the side line and you pick up the ball. You can run for the full length of the pitch without knocking the ball 1mm left or 1mm right. I know Ronaldo is good but really is he that good?

Reading below I came across "eddie living on live" talking about the American Football game Backbreaker. The idea of players actually being able to do more than two different tackles sounds great and when you think about it, if this game developer can do it, surely EA can! Another issue with tackling is that you may be running in one direction and decide to turn for a slide tackle, on one occasion the player just falls to the ground in an attempt to get the ball however on another occasion the player will miraculously slide on the floor whilst accelerating faster than Ronaldo accelerates when he's running form a standing position. I think to overcome this; the concept of Natural Motion Tackling should be introduced giving FIFA that edge on other leading Football gaming brands.

Another possible improvement is the absolutely ridiculous keeping on the game. On the legendary mode playing against any keeper even the likes of David James can pull off some sublime saves however yet again this area seems to lack the realism that "Next Gen" promised. Maybe if the keepers 'fumbled' a shot or a basic catch it may add to the realism. Even when the ball is coming vertically down into the keepers hands the striker should still have the chance to challenge the keeper and potentially make him spill the ball for a "goal line scramble" whereas when playing FIFA 08 you feel what is the point as the keeper seems to catch it even if there was a raging bull hitting the keeper just as he was about to catch the ball.

I am also confused with the weather. Does the pitch change its consistency for example the wetter the pitch the harder it is to run or keep your balance. So a thing to consider is if you turn sharply and the pitch is a bit boggy or wet in this area then the player could loose his balance and fall over. This also adds to the realism only if it is done properly. So again I am sure there are people clever enough to work out the players the Centre of gravity so the taller and heavier the player then the greater the chance is of falling over.

With songs from the crowd always being a big part of the atmosphere the match days in real life are electric. One point about FIFA that could increase tension on the match day is up beat music being played as the players run out onto the pitch pumping there arms in the air and clapping showing their appreciation of the fans support. This again would add to that special unique match day atmosphere. Another issue with the crowd is if the team is playing at home then whenever they lose possession the crowd all start booing. I'm sorry but that is nothing like the real thing. Maybe if the possession was 20%-80% to the other team then the crowd are likely to be booing but just a stray pass should not result in 50,000 people booing.
Also the game is brought to life by the fans shouting onto the pitch or singing the hearts out for their team. This should be done at crucial times of the match such as a chance late in the game or when a big win is only five minutes away. Finally the crowd may be bored with lots of passing however it only takes one crunching challenge to get them livened up. Just imagine the roar from the crowd when two players go in for a 50/50 challenge. It gets the teams adrenaline flowing, the crowds hyped up and especially the person managing their team towards victory. With the crowd behind him it will again add to that sense of being there on the match day instead of sat in front of the T.V just playing another match when the crowd boo you for losing the ball even when you are 3-0 up!

Onto the texture of the pitch now. Many people I have spoken to have always thought why on earth is the pitch always a perfect green carpet that studs or tackles never have any impact on. This was raised as the "Next Gen" consoles were first being sold not giving developers time to produce their magic. However with a full year ahead or heaven forbid two years (FIFA 10) developers should have more than enough time to produce pitches that are affected or scarred by tackles and studs on players boots. Also the pitches should age. This could bring another dimension into FIFA as I like many others have never seen that ball bobble on the classic green carpet however with "Next Gen" the capabilities are there. The idea of a division one leagues pitch being the same standard as Wembley stadium really makes FIFA unrealistic however a wet sloppy pitch that say, Cheltenham Town play on week in week out would add, as said before, that real Next Gen" feel to the game.

Finally another realism issue is partly down to the pitches being so perfect all the time that the boots worn by players do not affect their ability. I believe there is a window open for you to address the big named brands in football boots and basically say that when a player wears these boots they gain "x" amount of grip or "x" amount of speed or "x" amount off the chances of getting injured. With all "Next Gen" consoles having the accessibility to the internet the boots could be literally sold on FIFA or advertised which will cut down on your Total costs and at the end of the day we, as gamers, want there to be as much money and time put into the games as possible to produce that realistic and tense atmosphere that FIFA should be providing in the years to come.

I reckon the Fifa 09, should include a ranked version of a Be A Pro, also a better offline Be A Pro, it would be awesome if you could have two people on the same machine playing Be A Pro Online!!. if its possible then include Champions League and make Southend United better! :)

ideas for fifa 09:

1. fifa would be much more realistic if transers were not so easily achieved. For example, if you could include things like international players needing work permits and so on. This would be a great addition to the game. Football manager is a prime example, it is very realistic in the way tht a rich club like chelsea can't just go on and buy any player in the world.

2. Also, if the gold coast and or townsville sides are brought into the A-league please include them in the game as it would make it much better.

3. And i think the squads are not big enough. if you could have the real reserve and real youth squads of most teams it would make for a more realistic and believeable game.

Hey EA thank you for making excellent improvements from fifa07 to 08 however I believe that the fifa franchise is lacking central american representation. I'm not saying to add the leagues because the teams aren't the best, but at least add a couple of international teams.
Please add Honduras i know a lot of people will disagree but there are many honduran players playing in europe and mls now. I will give you a list of a couple so you can make the team,

I think fifa 09 should have more referres.make the players realistic dont just give a deafult face to lower division players. On fifa 08 (psp) nani's face can be a bit better and make sure that in fifa 09 during carrer mode u can choose the footballer's shoes for every match and also bring back the famous golden boot and in carrer mode there should be more press conferences we can watch not just choose what we can say.i would also like to have the overalls increased park ji sung has played quite well this year and rooney and ronaldo are better nani should be rated at least 89.

Features to be added:
Goalkeepers are to erratic!
Players to slow to react to passing or shooting!
Running with the ball should be easier!

If you have a look at Pro Evo 2008 all these are stand! Keepers are good, passing and shooting is way ahead of fifa and running with playing and turning pass players is easier to do on Pro Evo 2008! Fifa is way behind Pro Evo on these aspects but skills wise fifa wins hands down and commentary!

Please sort these out as the game play would be far better if these were resolved!

During manager mode when a player gets transfered the first number they take is two whether or not someone has it, I think this should be changed and the player should get either the same number from his former club or a number close to it.

i think u should add more international teams, like trinidad & tobago. u had it before.

also u could be more indebt with the manager mode, like player request to leave the club if hes not happy, able to call back a play from a loan spell if needed

the ability to buy a rival team's player if the price is right, cause liverpool will sell gerrad to manu for 100 million pounds

better boots

better graphics, i.e. players uniforms able to move and actually see a player's jersey being pulled

to be able to customize formations during manager mode

and so on.

Have the players celebrate after they win the league or a cup, like they do in PES

There are a few things that would make 09 better than 08.

1. Better freekicks. In 08 it was too hard to score off. Make it more like 07.
2. Be able to take a dive.
3. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup, not ECC and EFA
4. Bring back classic teams like brasil 1970, Cryuffs Dutch team, ect...
5. Ref on pitch
6. More stadiums
7. Create a stadium and club
8. Different weather conditions
9. The guided shot in 07 was better than in 08.

These are just a few ideas but I hope you consider some of them

i no i make out that fifa 08 is rubbish with all these ideas but fifa 08 is the best one i've played and i hope fifa 09 will be even better

1.Create Stadiums and Clubs

I am very impressed with Fifa 08.

I think in FIFA 09 the following features could be considered:

1. I have read some of the other posts that are quite similar and i think that maybe the introduction of 5-a-side would be popular. Just like in Fifa 08 RTWC. Its quick, fast paced and I think it would be very popular online.

2. I am impressed with the customizable options in Create-a-player mode and I'm thinking that in Fifa 09 if maybe it was possible to Create your own club/team. A lot of people I know have mentioned how amazing it would be to create your own club for your own hometown and have custom players to play on their behalf.

3. Also, I know this is probably a long way off but maybe the creation of your own stadium. This would be amazing as well as the idea of creating your own club. The customizable options would be infinite, the size of the stadium, number of seats, colour of seats, roofing, car parks, and maybe to make it more challenging for Manager Mode users it may be possible to use the money earned in manager mode in order to upgrade the stadium or to create plans for a new one.

4. In the arena at the start of the game with Ronaldinho or whoever the player chooses I miss the ability to pass to other players like in Fifa 06 when I used to have 4 England Players. One player on its own gets a bit boring after a while if I'm honest but its just an idea I guess. More players and if possible to make it that more than one player can comtrol them then it would be possible to practice crosses, headers and volleys.

5. Taking into account point 4 about the ability to train, I think it would also be a great addition to add in a Training Menu for practice Free Kicks, Penalties, Corners etc. like in the old Fifa games. This would be very useful for gamers who want to learn the ropes and perfect their skills.

I am impressed with all the teams and players in Fifa 08. I was disapppointed last year when my League 1 side: Hartlepool wasn't in it and I'm glad that I can now take them to the top. The introduction to being able to do your own skills is amazing and is really fun online, if I was just being picky I would say one way to improve that could be to create your own then assign it to a combination of buttons etc. That would be impressive. Also, the Be-A-Pro mode is amazing.

These ideas aren't just from a personal point of view. I have spoken to a lot of Fifa gamers and I'm sure a lot of other gamers would agree that some of these if not all are taken into account. This would make Fifa not just the best footballing platform on earth but the ultimate in football gaming software.
