Defender
A defender is a player whose primary job is to stop attacks and prevent the opposing team from scoring goals. Defenders are positioned near the team's goal frame, between the goalkeeper and the midfielders.
Roles
Defenders are good at defending and try to prevent opposing players particularly forwards, from scoring. Defenders's roles are mainly:
- Marking opposing forwards to prevent them to receive passes and prevent them from scoring
- Blocking shots
- Tackling attackers
- Intercepting passes
- Contesting Headers
