The way it is now its too perfect, and that takes out the reality factor. All you have to do is program a +-5% error factor.

General settings for online matches
--------------------
It would be great if we could:
- set weather, half time length, season and time of day
- see the complete profile (rank, skill points, DNF) of our opponent in team selection
- see a history of the last 5-10 teams our opponent has chosen before this match
in every online-match-mode available, whether it's a session started in the lobby or a quick ranked match we entered.
Replays

- Don't force us to watch all the replays after a game if our opponent doesn't click the button.
Squad updates
--------------------
Updating the squads regularly is great, but it's kind of annoying to accept the message about squad updates each time we start a match / open a new session. One confirmation when we connect to the EA servers should be enough.
Preferred and avoided players on XBOX
--------------------
On XBOX Live we have the option to submit a "player review" after each match. But it seems as if the online-mode doesn't automatically prevent us from playing the "avoided" players? I already had several quick ranked matches against players I previously avoided. If you can't assure that we won't meet avoided players anymore, it would at least be nice to have some visual marker before starting the match so that we can see that we previously avoided or prefered this player. This marker should be available in each type of online match, whether it's a quick ranked match or a session set up in the lobby.
Extended settings for quick ranked matches

Right now we can only configure in our "quick ranked match settings" that our opponent should be from our geographical area and have a similar skill level. The following additional settings would better the online-experience significantly:
- opponent must have a DNF value lower than x (so that we don't meet that much quitters anymore)
- opponent has chosen no teams higher rated than x stars the last y games (so that we can meet players who also like to play with lower rated teams)
Multiplayer on one console
--------------------
- Right now we can only play with our pals online on one console if we enter a normal 1 on 1 session. It would be great if this would also be possible in real multiplayer matches, so that for example 2 guys can play on one console against 3 other guys, each playing on their own console / connection.
- The way our "guests" can enter the game should be changed. Right now we have to press "Y" each time we´re in team selection. If we forget to press the button, it's over and our pals can't join the game anymore. The best way to handle this would be if our pals could enter the game at anytime but it would also be acceptable if this function would still be available in the tactics-screen after team selection.
Profile fields and ranking

I think the profile fields are a bit too complicated right now with DNFs, skill points, ranking, easw points, etc...
Why not have a "player quit x of y matches" field instead of "DNF"? And why not give every player a standard rank at the start from where he can rise up then? Then we wouldn't need skill points implicitly.
The "player hub" is also quite untransparent with all those cryptic values.
Statistics
--------------------
Quitted games are counted and you get the result by email if you configured your mail address. But it would be great if these results were also shown in your match statistics in "my stats" in the game and on EA sports world. On EA sports world it would also be nice to see the skill points and rankings of the players.
The way quitting is handled
--------------------
Generally it's good to have quitters punished as you're doing it right now, but receiving a 0:3 loss when you're leading 4:0 in the 89th minute and your internection connection is interrupted (as it happens quite often for home DSL users) is somehow depressing. I think in such situations we should at least be given a draw.
EDIT: It would also be nice to include a "friendly quit" option like you have it in Madden NFL.
Quick ranked matches bug

1 of 2 quick ranked matches can't be started cause either me or my opponent can't change the team in team selection. This is a permanent problem on PS3 and XBOX.

Those are the key updates that are necessary, in my mind
1) Firstly i think it should be Martin Tyler and/or Andy Gray commentating all matches or have a choice of commentary in the settings menu etc.
2) Also when you are waiting for your game to load you should be able to play with a particular player like on ps3.
3) Lastly i think you should have other leagues/cups, if you get the right from them. Such include: WORLD CUP, UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, UEFA CUP etc.

1. There should be varying weather conditions depending on the time of year. Snow and rain should be back, as well as fog.
2. Players should react to the climates and wear gloves during winter and short sleeves etc during the summer.
3. When a player goes down injured and has to come off, the medics carry him away.
4. The simulation should be better for substitutions. You should see the two players embrace and the player coming off be congratulated by the staff. Or if he feels he shouldn't come off then he should storm down the tunnel.
5. Managers and staff should be visible from the game field and the manager should react to the game situation like shouting and giving commands to his players, etc.
6. There should be a new meter. The anger meter. Each player is given an anger rating. For example Wayne Rooney's anger point would be higher than that of Brede Hangelenad. And when the player is irritated (poor tackle made on him, or his team is losing) then there aggression gets higher. If the anger meter gets too high then they act out. As the player you have no control over the acting out, and your player could well be sent off as a result.
7. Anger meter can be turned on/off if a gamer does/doesn't like it.

14. Improved AI Free Kicks - The CPU teams on Fifa 09 are often dangerous from corners but they are very tame at free kicks even on World Class. Make them much more of a threat. Try to get a balance between Fifa 08 and Fifa 09.
15. Improved AI tactical awareness - CPU teams should make tactical substitutions based on how the game has developed rather than just making them at random. Also they should change their starting XI occasionally instead of using the same team each time. CPU shouldn't play the same 11 every game of the year.
16. Improved Crowd Animations - More realistic reactions from fans in the Crowd. In Fifa 09, i was playing an away match and one of the players on the Home team got sent off but the shot of the crowd just showed the fans sitting still like they were at a funeral. Show the realism of passionate fans who are angry at their team going down to 10 men. Also, if EA can incorporate 3D crowd animation in FIFA 10 it would be like icing on the cake. The present 2D crowd animation looks too dull.
17. Crowd Audio - If your the away team and you injure one of the oppositions players and he's taken off, the crowd should boo when the player who commited the foul is on the ball.
18. Commentary - Needs improvements too. Way too many bugs. A new Commentary script would be ideal but if EA is recycling the same script, please fix the bugs.
- It would be good if the Commentators mentioned the actual Cup competition in finals, rather than just having a Generic Commentary sample for all finals.
- When you sign a player who scores on his debut, the Commentator will talk about how estastic he will be to score in his first match for the club.
- When playing in 2 leg Cup tie's, ie. the ECC knockout stages. the Commentators will be fully aware of the current situation and in the 2nd leg will talk about what is required from each team to progess. ie, if the 1st leg was 0-0 and your losing 1-0 in the 2nd leg, Martin Tylor will say 'insert teams name' need just one goal now to progess into the next round, can they find that vital goal from somewhere'. Then Andy Grey can put in a comment about the likelyhood of you getting a goal taking into account how the game has developed so far, how many shots you've had, etc...
- Occasionally talking about the League table situation and reflecting accurately on what result you need and can realistically achieve - especially when your either challenging for the title or in a relegation battle.
- If your management is poor ie, you choose a bad formation which results in you conceding a few goals they will talk about the bad tactics employed by the manager and mention exactly where it went wrong. ie, you failed to get any service to the strikers.
- Better commentary - update a lot of the commentary, I've heard enough of Andy Gray calling Fabregas a teenager, since when were 21 year olds teenagers?
19. Trophy Celebrations - In Cup finals show the winning team lifting the Trophy. Makes the feeling of winning it so much better!
20. Player ratings need to be fixed. Not their overall rating (82, 73, 88, etc.) but their match rating. Keepers who aren't contested all night shouldn't be penalised and given a 6. Every time you get a clean sheet, the keeper and the defenders should get at least an 8.
21. Almost all champions league games should be night games. Also have the same format as champions league (can't play team from youe league in first knockout stage).
22. Subs on the side and show them warming up. I think you should elect players to warm up on the side, and then when they come into the game they have more energy than say someone who comes on straght from the bench.
23. Improved Manager Mode - More decisions as a manager. Improved transfer system. Put some serious time in improving Manager Mode. Fix the scheduling of games, European games at night, more realistic transfers/transfer budgets, bring back the ability to assign kit numbers and more realistic results in the table. Also, have the ability to look at other leagues' tables and player stats.

26. Top Priority: Add obstruction rule. I'm tired of defenders placing themselves between me and the ball when I've kicked it forward and it's not a faul when I fall over him.

Custom Tactics - In Fifa 09, each time you start a match it reverts back to your Default Custom tactics instead of your Saved Custom tactics. The ability to start every match without having to change it back to the Saved tactics manually would be good.
More Customization -
Goal Replays. A setting to change the length of Goal Replays and change the camera angle for when they are shown after a Goal. so you can see the build up of Goals and select your prefered camera angle.
Throw ins. A setting which ables you to choose Throw-in takers, plus a stat should be added for Throw-in takers ability.
Free kicks. The ability to move your wall from side to side when facing a free kick.
FA Cup Replays would be nice - something which Fifa 08 and Fifa 09 should have had.
Upload club songs - Many clubs have a song which is played after a Goal is scored in Home matches. Include a feature to upload the song for your club. EA could even make some of the songs available for download for a small fee.
Weather in Manager Mode - a must. which is actually visable in Tele cam.
Trophy Celebrations - In Cup finals show the winning team lifting the Trophy. Makes the feeling of winning it so much better!
