Why dont they improve what the A-League players look like because they look nothing like them also improved manager mode andin edit mode you can change like cristiano ronaldos hair style and stuff that would be good.
i like the idea of having create-a-career, u can start off as say a 17 year old and work ur way up to the big boys i.e manchester united and u can sign like nike deals and contracts and media conferences
goodison park
More premiership stadiums would be great, also some sort of pre-season friendlies in MM, getting more points for playing as a weaker team then your opponent e.g. beating barcalona with a 3 star teams gives you more points online and last but not least the license for the Dutch national team.

Thank you.
I would like to see holland with the real names of their players i would also like to be able to desgin a new home and away kit before every season in manager mode unlike fifa 08 were you had to keep the same. I Would also like to be able to organise pre season matchs/tournaments before the start of the seasons in manager mode. Also in manager mode during the transfer window your club get linked with different players and players say they would or wouldnt like to join you.
in manager mode the teams that qualified for europe the previous season should already be in europe
okay first i think there should be a be a pro mode but something like madden exactly how that guy talks about it about above second they need to add my hair styles shoes more things you can d to your created player u should pick how you wanna look on the field and choose how u can look off the field so during press conference u can choose what you look like and choose your on option of what to.. now to free kicks yes please put the style of Ronaldo free kicks in the game and also how Quaresma shoots the ball in real games with his outside foot for free kicks and normal play and for free kicks put a power bar like you have when your playing in the arena mode with you and the goalie put that power bar when your taking free kicks because i never get enough power to get over the dam wall last but not least you need to change how u do moves to make ti easier its almost in possible to pull moves off on the opponents like when you playing be a pro if u change to the way the kid below me and how im saying to do it you should make it where the defense like walks back with you and then it zones out everyone and just focuses on you and the player and you do a move and he like slips or moves the wrong way and you go past him that would be something nice and those are some ideas i have for my self to like the game more but there are alot of good ones on here to you should also focus on
For me, the Manager Mode feels underdeveloped.

Something which I didnt like in Fifa 08 was that players seemed to progress terribly slowly, and even when they did there wasn't a very noticeable difference.

Transfers could also be expanded on for more realism.

A small thing I noticed in Manager Mode is that if you work on getting a lower league team into a higher league, no matter how vastly you have improved the squad, if you leave they will be relegated straight away the next season. For example. I took a championship squad with a 3 star rating up to the premier league, bought them players such as Fabregas, Ronaldo, Terry etc etc, and they had a 5 star rating, but after I left the club, a season later they were back in the Championship.

Making other leagues viewable would also be a small but good improvement to Manager Mode. I find it a bit silly that I can only view results and tables from the league im playing in.

Commentary. I love the commentary but I find that it doesn't take long for it to become repetitive. I want to hear them talk about teams league positions and put more emphasis on important matches (Cup matches, relegation battles etc). They should also talk about the teams recent performance and past season displays.

A good idea may be to regularly update the commentary so people online may download it to their consoles or PC.

Euro 2008 was a great game and I fully expect to see the features of that game included in Fifa 09.
About point 6, the random acts, maybe have the streaker/animal on the pitch about once every 2 seasons, maybe even more stretched out than that to make it truely random, dont even tell people your putting it in the game.
Its the 2010/2011 season, your doing steady in the league as say West Ham, winning 2-1 at home to Wigan, and bam, on pitch referee blows whistle to stop play, cut scene to animated 3D fans and more realistic players laughing and pointing, and then cut to the lost hedgehog on the pitch. Brilliant.

And varied pitch invasions. Pitch invasions in the champions league final at Old trafford for example wouldnt happen apart from like 10 fans out of 40,000 who you only see for a second before being punced upon by dozens of stewards and police. But then mass uncontrolabble pitch invasions in Conference or League 2 play off finals.

Another point. Have some stadiums from around the world, theres must be some massive and beautiful stadiums outside of Europe such as that 200,000 seater in Brazil, also I reckon America, China, Japan and Korea must have some great stadiums, and add in some fantasy ones aswell such as Liverpools new ground, the 2012 London olympic stadium and some randoms such as a park pitch with benches round it.
When new players are created in manager mode, show their faces instead of that black space with a glow around it.
Have more english players that are good when created (they're always foreign the new players that are really good.
Sort out fitness, in lower leagues why do I need to spend literally millions just for my team to be able to go more than 2 matches? It's ridiculous.
More stadium, or generally a variety of capacity and size and layout, instead of either JUST that huge estadia whatever and that Div UK2 or whatever.
Create a new kit at the start of the season (but with same sponsors).
You should be able to edit player attributes and appearance, that means boots, hairstyles and accesories.
I'm sick of doing a million challenges for pathetic points just to unlock one pair of boots.
When a player is loaned out to a good club, who is of better standard than the players there, then he should start more often and thus grow from first team experience. I loan players out and they come back none the better.
The valuations are fine.
You should be able to request the board for more money at the start of each season, or they give it to you depending on their expectations, giving you more to fight relegation or challenge for the title, or less if they just want to hold on to mid-table.
Search options should include height.
Pre season friendlies, day by day time in the transfer season, and be able to make more than 3 bids a week, it's pathetic.
Free kicks and corners were terrible last season, improve with more curl.
Be able to see refs.
Better goalkeeper AI, when pressing triangle for him to come, he'll run out, miss the ball, and leaving a gaping gap for the striker to score from.

I hope you read and consider these points. I truly believe from this you have the chance to create the perfect football game and steal a huge march on Pro Evo not only in terms of authenticity but also game content and gameplay.

me and my friend were talking the other day and think the best thing that could be added-or maybe even a new game intirely-would be dream 11's. for example the best 11 from each of the post war decades (or maybe 60s on wards) in one data base so that you could select your own dream squad which could be used in league formats or even just exhibition games. maybe this could replace the unlockable classic and world 11's as lots of the time the players used arent the ones we as fans would like to see...choice and use-ability is key!!
Add Leagues:

Russian League
Qatari League
Argentinian League
J League
Romanian League
Benji Huggins
1. Keeper reflexes turned down a tad, some keepers seem to have super human reflexes
2. Players AI improved in relation to offside, players sem to have run through very obvious offside traps btu they don't track back they linger there essentially creating a useless player, you;d have thought a professional would realise they're offside pretty quickly and track back
3. Faster paced game play, sometimes game play can seem slow and players reactions tedious
4. Able to find friends online instead of random matching all the time
5. Sending a man forward should be automatic, Computer AI on your own team needs to be greatly improved, movement and positioning in particular.
6. More stadiums relevant to actual clubs.
7. Referee on the pitch? Something which sligtly bothered me in 08 was there didn't seem to be any officials.
8. Maybe also hav the managers occasionally com into view in the technical areas. Just bring more life into the surrounding stadium atmosphere.
9. When a goal is scored stadium music is played players name maybe even announced. Just make the stadium seem more like its alive.
10. Character models improved.
11. Manager mode the first seasons games could be the same as the 08/09 seasons. Same dates, fixtures.
1) Player specific and more varied commentary with 2 maybe 3 pairs of commentators.
2)On pitch referee, and make them rela referees and all.
3)More playable leagues, eg Brazilian, Russian, Conference North and South.
4)Create your own stadium.
5)More realistic player animations, movements, size. All players look too big and too perfect on current game.
6)Random acts. Eg the occasional pitch invasion, streaker, small fluffy animal on the pitch?
7)Bit more tactical depth to Be a Pro mode.
8)A few mini games like on the PSP's keepey ups, or 5 a side mode (not too much like Street), head and volleys, a quiz mode for when your bored or optional for loading screen instead of Be a pro bit.
9)Better crowd animations, espcecially for Xbox360 and PS£ and HD Teles, these are next gen machines that can cope with the graphics but the crowds are still 2D and pixilated.

But other than that, its a fantastic game really, keep brinning them out and il keep buying them.
be able to go around the goalkeeper in 1 on 1 situations and generally faster more easy flowing gameplay
First and foremost, a referee on the pitch would be nice and maybe a few more tricks for next year that get harder and you can do some awesome tricks but they're very hard to do. The arena is a great idea and they should keep it although I think in two player there should be either two players to pass and shoot together or one player controls the keeper, because I always ended up arguing with who I was playing with about who should control the player. More realistic money dealings would be good as well as all the Premier League stadiums designs, I reckon I'm only saying that because I'm a Hull fan :P. Also the option to create a stadium or download stadium designs would be a definite improvement. I think they should change the way you take free kicks as well as Fifa 08, although it was a great game required no real skill to score a free kick, I personally liked the free kicks from Fifa 2003 as there was something to aim for and a chance of scoring from all angles if you were spot on. More varied commentary is a must and more personalised commentary would be far better, I hate the comments like 'it's a great day for the team that's winning' etc. They're just my views, I think the frame work of Fifa 08 is great, it just needs these tweeks to blow PES off the market.
manager mode on the wii. i really missed manager mode.

plus trophie presentations, diving, visible referees, rotated commentary, businesses buying clubs on manager mode, really transfer prices, new kits.

and make martin skrtel the games best defender ;)
GIVE US A 2 PLAYER MANAGER MODE!

As we all love to go head to head with our friends, i think we should b able to have a multi player manager mode.

just a 2 player leaugue is not enough , we want to challange for transfers , champions league and more.....

please integrate into new fifa im mean come on it was on FIFA 2003 .........we taken steps back.
I would like to see more realisitic prices put on players and would also like to see more range of stadiums and not just modern stadiums but older stadiums which are known world wide and have had some very improtant games played in it over the years for example Goodison Park of Everton FC.
I would also like to see the songs of the clubs played at half time or the crowd singing it through the match.
i would like it if you could chose what players go up for corners - i.e sending the bigger defenders into the box, whilst keeping the small, stocky midfielders out the box for a better advantage.
I have several suggestions about what i think that people would like to have on the new FIFA (FIFA 09) such as:
- Be able to manage an international team whilst managing a team in manager mode.
- Be able to decide whether you would like to have players on the line (on a post or both) when deffending a corner also in manager mode.
- Decide what type of defending you would like when defending a corner (be it zone-al, man marking or etc).
- Be able to create a stadium.
- Have real boots available for all players such as Adidas Preditors and etc.
- Have more leagues such as Russian, Greek and etc.

Sorry about the spelling.
I personally think that there should be brawl matches within the game (where players can fight for the ball- something like sega soccer slam game but more serious and realistic). and there shoudl also be a gym where players can train their strenght, stamina, endurance, speed etc. This change will be the top game if the changes would be ammended.
I think that the russian league should be added as well as:
1) Different commentators for different games perhaps
2) Two players should be able to play on the kickabout mode (the one you can play while waiting for games to load.
3) The top players should have their own unique tricks, such as ronaldinho flick flack
4) A bit elaborate but with the use of bluetooth headsets, players could commentate on their own game and listen back.
Spend more time on the graphics and stadiums of Championships clubs. Its one of the most highly supported leagues in the world.
Include Goodison Park. Its the one thing thats stopping this game being the best game in the world ever.
Yeah as someone else said you should be able to take control of one player and take them through their career with plenty of things happening to them like sponsors and boot deals - in depth transfers...
-save goals. to the hard-drive
-in manager mode should show you your seasons highlights, the best moments from the games once the seasons finished.
-joey barton should be removed, if he hasnt been sacked already when the game comes out. poor excuse for a person and a player.
Free-kicks not as easy.
Build a stadium
More Leagues
Visible refs
More/better crowd songs
Realistic fans - louder at certain games/seasons.
Simple..., Make FIFA 09 and FIFA Manager 09 Into 1 game. Include All the International teams in the world covered by FIFA and every major league plus more of those countries, like in FIFA manager. Also make sure that you can manage international teams of your choise. The game's name should stay FIFA 09. Let you as manager have relationships with the players, staff, Club president and even the owner to determine your gratefulness to the club. So then again it comes back to just adding the 2 games together to create 1 great game! If NOT possable in FIFA 09 then try it out with FIFA 2010! THANX.........................................
and yes, different sponsors every year, ability to have different kits the next season, the same kits for like 10 seasons does suck!
you should be able to play online with your career team, the opponent will not no what to xpect then, for example you could be wolves and have ronaldinho, or a weak player, the best stats in the world. this would be challenging as your opponent wouldnt no what to xpect from your team and u can then play with your favourite players and team and still win, rather than people always being barcelona, man united or brazil online, that just gets boring when people always pick the same and best teams. !
weemans younger brother
i agree with weeman totally!!!!
Nickname or text recognition etc so the commentators can say your name or nickname when your custom player has the ball.

adidas / nike / puma etc boots in whichever colour combination you want.

ability to change your custom player whilst you're in your manager mode (otherwise you have to start another one if you want a different coloured boots!

and a referee on the pitch, better skills, etc. etc. etc.
Stadium creation - would be class. A slightly tougher manager mode with job offers if you do well (perhaps even the chance of international management for a summer tournament?) would be a big improvement as well.

And I think the game needs a referee simply to add realism.
should make free kicks easier and more staduims cause on xbox the spurs staduim is not on there like on playstation and the real madrid stadium as well use the old graphics and put it inti the new 1 staduims i mean
have a ref and 2 linsman
make your own stadium
only have so many points to make your on create a player mode and start of at the lowest league and work your way up
have realistic player amounts
all clubs ect. chelsea ave 1 billion pounds to spend on players but dont spend it all alse you'l go bankrupt.
have more leagues ect.conference and so on
have all the players like the reserves for all the clubs even the internationals
have it realy realistic with waterloged pitches
have staff ect ground staff and watch them do there jobs like watering the pitch on a hot sunny day or take the covers of on a rainy or snowy day
train before the game
show the manager and the subs
have realistic stadiums all the stadiums are the same apart from the top four
have the grass so it wares away as the season goes on
tell you whos been transfered were and whos been transfered on a imformation board
have a cool down after the game
shake hands with the other team and the ref before the game
be able to see other teams games if you want to
I don't think EA will actually listen to our ideas so it's just a waste of time!
A few things probably already mentioned,

1. Can the sound be finally sorted out so the away team in cup finals has the same support as the team drawn at home, sounds like there is nobody there for the away team
2. The EFA tropy is clearly based on the Champions League so can the knockout stage actually resemble the real thing by NOT being drawn against a team from your qualifying group
3. The commentary really needs a look at as player names get mixed up on a regular basis, diffent name used on approach to goal, ball goes in, then its a different name mentioned as goal scorer
4. Can some of the derby matches be looked into, i played a derby match as Brighton against Plymouth and that is NO WAY a derby match and never was or will be lol. Derby matches are between local rivals, not teams 300 miles apart.
5. In the PC version, can references to the PS2 memory card be erased in the various menu screens as that becomes boring to see

Thanks for the effort so far and good luck with FIFA 09 :)
when online players shouldn't be allowed to leave the game right before the end if losing or purposly cut off their internet connection
Nicholas Lowles
Overall, FIFA is a very impressive game. However, for us footie purists, a few minor changes should be added to improve the game as a whole.

I would like to apologise in advance for any points I might raise that may have been covered by previous posters, as well as any points that I make that have already been implicated in next generation console platforms of the game - currently, I buy the PC version of FIFA every year. Thanks.

Firstly, in the "Edit Player" options, a few minor changes must be made. Firstly, I would have the type of boots that a player wears in real life. For example, Stevie Gerrard of Liverpool wearing Adidas boots. Then, instead of only being able to change this boot choice into the generic ones on offer, I would ensure that you could alternate between all the different styles and colours in the Adidas range. In this case, if a player changes the colour of his boots in real life, you could mirror this change on the game, instead of merely giving him generic coloured boots. This change would see, say, Gerrard being able to alternate between all the Adidas boots on offer.

In addition to this, I would include the option to alter a players hairstyle. As we know, players hairstyles change numerous times throughout the season, and it becomes slightly irritating - if only for the football purists, such as myself! - to be playing with, for example, a long-haired player, when they have cut all their hair off in real life. A minor change, but one that would add extra gloss to the game.

Like many others, I would like to see more leagues, more teams, and more authentic stadiums on offer. This would ensure a far more comprehensive game-playing experience.

To further this, I would also like to see more players, especially those playing at top sides, being personalised. Currently, some notable players have yet to be personalised, and, whole teams, even those playing in the Premier League, and other top leagues around Europe, find themselves with barely one or two players who are personalised in the side. Again, to add to a more authentic game-playing experience, I think FIFA should personalise a far bigger range of players. Certainly if not most, but at least those playing for an international side. Notable exceptions in the Premier League last season included Gareth Barry, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ashley Young, Jolean Lescott, Mikael Arteta, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Micah Richards, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Steve Finnan, Fabio Aurelio, Ryan Babel, Joey Barton, etc. and many - MANY - more, who were all recognised international players.

Also, I would like to know why the Dutch national side is never licensed? You have the Dutch league, a lot of the leading Dutch players, and notable stadiums in Holland all evident on the game, yet no Dutch national side? I know it is there in some form, but it becomes irritating to have to spend ages internationally selecting players into the Dutch national side. To top that off, the side doesn't even play in a kit vaguely resembling the Dutch strip, and they still play in a generic stadium.

As one of the leading international sides, I think it is essential that the Dutch team is added to licensed teams on the game.

This leads me onto two further points. Firstly, that, if we have to persist with internationally selecting the Dutch players into the Dutch national side, surely we should be able to then select a stadium, that isn't one of the generic ones, for them to play in?

And, secondly, the fact that there should be more international teams on show. Prominent African nations, such as Ivory Coast and Ghana, have been ommited, as well as other notable national sides. A few more might be required to add to a more authentic gaming experience.

In Manager mode, you might also like to impliment the option of being able to manage a national side too.

In addition to this, why are there not more competitions available to play on the game? I know international tournaments, such as the World Cup and the Euros, are usually distributed in their own individual games, but why isn't there the option of being able to play the Champions League or the UEFA Cup? I think these would be very welcome additions, as would pre-season tournaments, and European qualifying games, in Manager mode.

Onto Manager mode, which is, at the moment, slightly long to persist with. 21 years of management is more than most people can put up with, especially as, towards the end, most of the recognised players have 'retired', and, certainly for myself, I find it hard to persist with longer than four-five 'years' on Manager mode. For this reason, I would see it change to a more manageable time, such as five-ten 'years', with the option to extend it at the end. Whilst we are on the subject, I would also like to see the transfers within Manager mode be more probable in real life. Often I see extremely unlikely transfers, such as Ronaldo to Chelsea, go through every year. In addition, transfers often happen during the very first year of the management mode; considering that FIFA is up-to-date as of that Summer, transfers during the first year should not be permitted until the January transfer window. In this case, the game should either tighten up its rules on transfers, making them more likely to what might happen in real life, or hand over control to the player to approve/deny any proposed transfers, even if they don't have any bearing on their own side.

On the subject of Manager mode, I think it would be useful if you included the options available in Team Management, such as 'Edit Player', 'Edit Squad', etc., within the Manager mode. Currently, if you wish to change a teams formation or edit a player, to mirror changes that may have occured in real life, you have to impliment these changes, then start Manager mode all over again for them to take effect. If you put these options within the Manager mode itself, it would prove very useful for those of us who like to impliment changes with accordance to real life alternations.

Furthermore, I would like to see authentic trophy presentations at the end. When a season in Game mode is finished, the players proceed to run around the pitch for a few seconds, before "Congratulations" is sprawled across the screen; the side appears trophyless. I would like to see real trophies, such as the Premier League, the European Cup, the FA Cup, etc. shown on the game, in accordance with an authentic celebration; such as the captain receiving the trophy in the stands from the head of the FA at Wembley, or on the field for the Premier League, etc.

As for the gameplay itself, which is already of a high standard, I would only make a few minor changes. Namely, I would ensure that a whole range of different goals can be scored. It seems that after a few sessions, you have already scored every goal possible, and although it doesn't become boring, as such, I would like to see a larger variety of different goals scored; freak goals, ambitious efforts, pass-and-move around the eighteen yard box trying to walk it into the net, etc.

And, as a final point, I would like to see a more real life season experience. This would see the weather being sunny and dry during the Summer months, then darker and wetter leading up to Winter, with snow, and even frost over Christmas, before getting lighter, brighter and warmer during the final stretch of the season towards Spring. The weather should also determine the gameplay; for example, a windy day would see the ball get carried around in the wind, a wet day would see the ball move quicker and more unpredictably, a dry day would see the pitch move slowly, a frosty day would ensure the players were in bigger risk of injuring themselves, etc.

In addition to this, player styles would change during the course of the year. In 'Edit player', you should be able to specificy whether a players shirt length would change depending on the season/weather, between short and long, as well as whether they would wear gloves, maybe even tights, as well as wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath a short-sleeved shirt, as is the popular style amongst players right now.

Answers on a postcard ...

Many thanks, Nick.
you should be able to play online with your career team, the opponent will not no what to xpect then, for example you could be wolves and have ronaldinho, or a weak player, the best stats in the world. this would be challenging as your opponent wouldnt no what to xpect from your team and u can then play with your favourite players and team and still win, rather than people always being barcelona, man united or brazil online, that just gets boring when people always pick the same and best teams.
i would like some scottish football stadiuams like Tynecastle, easter road, old firm stadiums. Also add Hampden stadium.its not fair Engliand have loads of staduims in the game the Scottish do not. Also add the 1st,2nd,3rd scottish ldevishion lueages thx cya ;)
1. Faster game play
2. New free kick system
3. Better thru ball system
4.fix the offside rule so if a defender knocks it to a striker its not offside
have more stadiums instead of just the top 4 of every leagues stadiums. id love 2 see vicarage road on ther! ;) come on watford!!!!
As a fifa addict id have to say the commentary really has to improve.Much more enthusiasm and excitement in relation or co-ordination with situations in particular.

2-Aggressiveness from players->I know its not right to ask for it but as it happens in real life, it would be nice to see a player getting booked for moaning a lot.

3-Transfers->players should be allowed to leave when they wish and more time and bids be given to managers when they want to purchase.More like 4 after each game.

4-Better stadiums->the stadiums this time round were exquisite but the clips shown during the pause menu has to be more enhanced as in should be longer with even more added realism.

5-Players should be granted diving tactics and when a player is held back illegally PLEASE allow a foul.
Please add:

1: Scottish First, Second and mabye Third Division. Come on you have the likes of the Mexican and Polish or whatever.

2: Trophy Presentation's followed by tv interviews where you can select what you want to say.

3: Media every week, regarding transfers, games etc.

4. Able to Dive, Miskick and generally anything a normal person would do.

PLEASE
Crowd actually visibly celebrate when a goal is scored
Better crowd sound effects would be good.

To actually hold back the game until the transfer window of the summer has closed would make it more accurate.

More worthy stadiums in the game, eg stadium of Light, city of manchester stadium, goodison park, riverside stadium, villa park.
create or extent your a/or new stadium
bring more leagues... america and south america and many more
change kit after each season
refs
trophy presentation
