Your Ideas for FIFA 09

Hi,

First of all, big pat on the back for '08. Absolutely sublime in my opinion.

The only things I can think of to improve on it would be the following.

Tweek the commentary. Tyler and Gray do a fantastic job but if you find yourself in a scrappy match where possession switches quite often it causes quite a comical effect where Martin will just spout an endless stream of one-liners about tenacity to retain the ball and strong challenges being made. Sounds a bit false. Also, they'll comment too soon on incidents; complimenting a keeper for a good save being made when he's actually spilled the ball into the net, or commenting on the ref's decision to play the advantage when he's actually pulled it back for a free kick. Ultimately it'd be good if we just saw (heard) a bit more fluidity because the delivery is otherwise very good.

I think a novel idea would be to add an element error to the off-side rule. Occasionally allowing a goal stand that might have been deemed otherwise disallowed, thus insensing the oppposition and sending Andy into a trademark rant would be brilliant!

It'd also be quality to have the commentators make reference to previous encounters between sides during a season, maybe comment on a teams current postion and form as judged by past matches. "The last encounter between these two sides saw a 7 goal thriller, let's hope we're for something similar this time round..." "Manchester Utd have seen an excellent run of form so far, undefeated in * matches..." "That's it, and just listen to the fans. It really does go from bad to worse for Newcastle as their dry spell continues..." Hopefully you get the idea!

Improved cut-scenes. Making a double or triple substitution should be shown. No such cut-scene should be shown when a sub has been made during the half-time break (it just looks silly). If a substitution is made at half-time could it be possible for the commentators to simply remark on this as the players re-surface from the tunnel? (That's another idea for a cut-scene there.) "We've seen two changes during the break..." Or something to that effect!

The ability to export teams and players that have seen improvement during manager mode.

A 'sim match' option that allows you to actually watch the match, you know, like a real manager!

Nothing else springs to mind at this moment in time, I realise there are certain restrictions involved and some things just aren't feasible, but seeing anything from the above incorporated into the new game would be a bonus to an otherwise quality game. Cheers!

I think for FIFA 09 there should alot better graphics. You dont get to see linesman or ref's.

The fans need to be more realistic. - Also I think that you should be able to give a half time team
talk. Maybe with a headphone set to tell them what too do. Yoou can manage natonal teams, during
a season and the GRAPHICS NEED TO BE BETTER ! ! THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL. TOO

- Better Commentary eg. With certain clubs when you play with them the commentators only say a couple of players names.

- More Realistic Fans ... When you play away say for example Man Unitted And Liverpool there is bound to fans from the away side but yet when you score no one cheers for you.

In A final if you play away you score and no one cheers for yu but when the final whistle is blown the stadium errupts?

- More Realistic Goalkeeping as some goals shouldnt be going in for example: I played barcerlona vs Real Madrid the Ramos took a week shot and it went strait through my goalkeeper.

-Linesman shown on ground

- Weather Conditions.. for some reason when you play at night a mjority of the time it rains. Wind should be a factor if you are playing a lower league team naturally the ground wont be at peak condition.

- Diffrent nets for drifren ground i know its not that major but sometimes its the little things that make the game better.

-Champions League and Uefa Cup in Manager Mode there is a game already for Champions League but it will add to the reality of the game.

- Diffrent Commentators for example . Martin Tyler a legend at the microphone not just the same to men behind the microphone at every game.

- Right Type of ball for used for right competitions and leagues.

- A couple of league i would like to see are Croatian , Serbian , Greek , Argentinian , Russian , Ukranian , J-League , Some more leagues from asia i dont known the names of them all

- More international countries.

-Manager mode to have euro cup african sotuh ameriacan asian and world cup . Also AFC Champions League.

Whils having a match in a tournament eg Champions League why not have the commentator keep us up to date with scores from around the ground and have that stop in the last 10 mins so then we find out final scores.

- Not all matches to start same time and same day in manager mode. So Man United could be playing Liverpool on Saturday while then Chelsea Play Arsenal On A Monday Night.

- Winner Of Cups to Celebrate With Trophy

- More Realistic Free Kicks.

Louder boos at the end of the match.
When theys score show a cutscene of the crowd and bench.
Cutscenes of the managers shouting things at the players.
Cutscene of fans waving fists and shouting if a free kick or penalty is given away.
You should be able to choose basic designs for your kits eg: real like adidas and nike and umbro.
Colour pallet so we can choose wat eva colour we want our kit to be... like silver and purple or something but the colours we have now arent enough.
Third kits for goalie and team
Sponsorship signs on ur jersey.. eg: AIG, Samsung, Unicef.. ect
Design Stadium
Have logos shown on flags and stdium because as a created team, all u get show is a soccer ball.

Create a player in " Be a pro " SEASON and impress the manager/ coach to pick you for the next match, Train in training sessions + Plan out what you do when you retire

Hi Fifa lovers,

I have all the games from 1998 to 2008 and I cant wait to buy the 09 version. I'm hooked and I think I have some suggestions.

I think the game play has to be improved a little bit. First of all. I was very disappointed that the controls were changed. let me explain. In PC mode, u used A-S-D buttons to play the game. Previously the S button was pass and select player. now it has been changed pass and select player is not two different keys and the computer now makes the choice of player to select. when defending this is a nightmare, bc the PC is intuitive enough and many times when your defense is caught napping you cannot quickly select a player to cover the spaces. Its horrible, please dont change the controls.

Another point, I noticed that there new stuff introduced which is great but i dont think it was necessary. Soccer is a team sport and the be a player mode is useless (in my opinion). Rather put more game play features such as when you go to start the next match, u can manage your team makes subs etc but you can also click right inside the formations and tweak the formations a bit move players up down etc. I dont like the fact that you have to create the formations before you start a career. and you can use your formations in a network game with a friend.

Why is it that it is virtually impossible to score from a well placed cross? even you have peter crouch making the header? EA should watch the way the game has improved and make it a little realistic. I have in several situations beaten the whole defensive back line and made a beautiful cross and tierry henry can even get to the ball bc a player miles away suddenly appears and gets his head first to the ball. that mind bending.

bring back the 2006 free kick and crosses. please!

I think that the game has enough moves already. I dont think we need more. What we need is more realistic play. Man marking does not work properly. that needs to be fixed.

COMMENTARY! Jeeze! how much will it cost to change the commentary? they should have commentaries in different accents or even they release them as community upgrade packs. and more words and sentences should be added! please. also there should be a name recognitions thingie added so that when in career mode u have new young players their names can be recognised and said as well. Also add the stats to the commentaries. Like "last that these two teams met, tierry henry scored the 2 goals, will he do it again here tonight?"

Now in Fifa 08 there was a thing where you press the space bar and your formation changes. That was really cool because you could store 3 or 4 formations and then which between attacking formation and defensive formation or neutral. Also currently there is the option of changing the mindset to attack or defence, but that's only if you are using a game pad or on xbox. Put that option for PC as well. But it will be even better if we can change the formation right there in the game play.

Other things could be added to make the game more realistic. like real crowd, injured players could be stretchered off. off the ball attacks (player on player), keeper tackling, I noticed on one occasion the keeper handled the ball outside the 18 yard box and nothing happened. Also there was one occasion the keeper caught the ball while inside the net. It was a goal but nothing happened.

One of the most important things that needs to be fixed is. When running with the ball, its very difficult to change directions its hard. this should be changed. or at least improve it for certain players with such skills like cristiano ronaldo, tierry henry, lionel messi etc. Right now, except for the defenders, if i play a right winger midfielder in the correct position it works fine, when i change and play a CB in a RWM position, it gives the same feeling. the skills should be improved so that mid fielders are really mid fielders and defenders are really defenders.

2. more hands on in manager mode, whatever that may be.
3. be a pro mode shoud be like a manager mode but with only that specified player.

Make the losing teams support go crazy after the game and so on, it would be great. And add the Mercurial Vapor IV boot, it would be nice. And add nike blister socks + ankle tape, when you create a player, just like Cristiano Ronaldo.

AND Very Important.... Make the celebrration a lot better.... i'm getting tired of always seeing a defensive player jumpinng on the one who scored, and make it random.

Make the creation better, add more hair style like Cristiano Ronaldo hairstyle, or ronaldo's hairstyle in world cup 2002, and so on. Let the supporters light some flares in finale matches or rival matches.

I think the little things make a big difference in a quality of a game. Here are so,e suggestions. Different weather conditions, which includes being able to play in the day or night with rain, snow etc.. show the refs and lineman. Show players on the sideline warming up if they are about to go in. Soccer has by far the biggest rivalries in the world...why not show that with crazy crowds that are really into the game. The official theme songs would be great. Much better commentary because it seems that the commentators say the same stuff over and over again. It would be great if you could have commentary in english and spanish. Better trophy celebrations. I want to see crowd reactions when their team loses at home. As usual, try to put as many teams (league and national) as possible. That is my favorit part of the game. Be able to be a national team in manager mode. A lot of people refered to FIFA 98, that was by far the best FIFA game in the franchise. I loved the indoor option and all every single national which included the world cup tournament in the game. That was great.

- Better scouting in Manager mode. You should be able to send your scout to more specific countries like Brazil, Argentina, Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, USA, Australia etc. instead of just continents.
- Career mode with World Cup every 4 years.
- All national teams (or at least most of them)
- Bring back some of the smaller things like practice mode and create-a-team for the 360.
That may be asking for a lot but I think it would be the greatest game ever and I hope you will add at least some of this! Thanks for reading.

The next step to improve Fifa 09 is to actually get the 2nd division teams into the game so teams can get renegated and teams can also move up to the 1st divison for all leagues. so when u play a season as manager... your 2nd season can see 2-3 different teams. Or you can start being manager at a 2nd or 3rd division team and bring them all the way up to 1st division. That is the next BIG step for FIFA 09.

I hope ea put these ideas in to make fifa 09 better.

1) Players taken off on stretchers if hurt bad.
2) If tere is more than one substitute happening show both of them not just one of them.
3) More Realistic weather i.e. raining stops and starts in matches. If it rains for the whole match then the pitch gets wetter and wetter as the match progresses.
4) Snows in the winter sometimes.
5) You can see the referee and the linesman while playing not just when the referee has issued a card or free kick.
6) Better atmosphere from the crowd and even better on derby matches.
7) Every team has their right stadium in the premier league and serie a and la liga.
8) Linesman flags a goal offside and then u see the dissapointment and frustratement on the players face.
9) Home crowd boo if the home team are playin poorly and you can hear the home fans groan when the home team gives the ball away.
10) Home crowd leave early if their team is losing.
11) If the away team has a penalty you hear the home crowd booing to try and put the penalty taker off.
12) If you score an important goal late on then the player can jump into the crowd or take his shirt off and then get yellow carded.
13) If you give a freekick away you can kick the ball away or agrue with the referee and get booked.
14) The game play is slightly faster.
15) More and better goalie dives.
16) The team throws most of their players if losing in the last 10 minutes then could get countered.
17) The goalie and the wole team in the penalty area in the last minute if you have a corner.
18) At the end of the match the players swap shirts and clap to the fans.
19) Free kicks easier to take and get curl on them.
20) In manager mode if a player is performing he should get called up for his national team.
21) In manager mode if a match is being played wednesday then it should be at night, but if it is on a saturday or sunday then it should be during the day.
22) Goalies reactions better.

Me and my friend have been discussing this and believe to make this game an ever bigger success and more liked by fifa fans you should:

Fifa HAVE THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA CUP. only the CC is called ECC ( Eurovision Championship) and the UEFA CUP is EFA. See ?

FIFA gets better and better, then we demand more and more of the game.
First of all "Season mode is as someone calls it MANAGER MODE

- Norwegian stadium
- All international stadium
- More underleagues like (Norwegian 1. league "Adecco League"
- More options for transfers. (ex. like in fifa manager 08)
- Controll of youth teams.
- Managment of international teams.
- Create your own stadium.
- More options for you as a manager (ex. privatelife)
- Oportunity for friendlies in a season.
- More events and cups during season mode
- Take players for trials during season.
- be able to make transfers during the hole season, Only the palyers dosnt leave their "old" team before the transfer period opens.
- Better crowd animation as listed, it would been cool to see the fans going wild, but the FIFA 08 has some of this, you acctually can sometimes see from the crowds view when they have scoored.
- More animation on injuries. (Doctors running out ect.)
- Get updates from other important matches.
- Maybe some animation on interwievs (Not so important, see on KONAMI's PES, they have some TV interwievs)

i think that the players in manager mode should be better, wat i mean is the players season stats. I finished manager mode and c. ronaldo had only scored 5 goals and gabriel abonglahor was the leagues leading scorer with 25 goals, i mean when the hell is that ever gonna happen. it would also be better if the teams were better because i won the league and the second place team was birmingham!! Man U. ended like 7 and chelsea right behind, the CPU in manager mode should be more realistic, seriously

they should show the managers shaking hands and add more teams from south america...during the game show the refs linesmen so that u can argue with them....on manager mode they should who is the best player on the world like during the league, maake champions league more realistic. between the week you should like practice witht the team like you actually have to get the player and run to get fit do shooting drills and play during preactice like a real match but they should put like "be careful u might injured your player during training

crate your own stadium eg. choose how many seats choose a design and the colour of the seats i would have thought it would a cool thing if you could allow pitch invasions at the end and mabye during the game to make it more realistiic.

on formations and that you should be able to choose who you want to go up for the corners and freekicks also there should be more animation in the injurys like if he has broken a leg he should be taken of on a stretcher and maybe you should add womens football on the game to advertise womens football.and lastly you should be able to see your team go up and lift the trophey.

It would be wonderful if they would release Fifa for Linux, but since it directX-based it's not likely, but it wouldn't be hard to make it officially work with Wine. As it is now it is partially working already.

When you loan players out they only play about 7 times. i loaned C. Ronaldo out to Watford and he played 11 times in a whole season. sort it out.

Ok i know that Konami have the rights but some how find a way to play the J-League, as its a top league, perhaps a Japanese national team, if the rights for that cant be bought maybe do it in a similar way to the Holland national team.

You should add the Argentinian League, I mean, you MUST, I still don't understand how we have the Polish League or the Australian League but we don't have the Argentianian League wich is one of the better leagues in the world, considered as the fifht by de IFFHS.
I know you have your public in europe, but you can't ignore South America by just including 1 league (Brasilian League), 2 if we count Mexican League but you can't keep ignoring this leagues.
In the IFFHS world league ranking the 15 first positions are
1. England
2. España
3. Italia
4. Brasil
5. Argentina
6. Deutschland
7. France
8. México
9. Colombia
10. Portugal
11. Chile
12. Türkiye
13. Russia
14. Ukraina
15. Paraguay
6 of the 15 leagues can be considered Latin American leagues, but in the game we just have 2 of them, Brasil and Mexico, What About Argentina?, What about Colombia?!, What about Chile?!, What About Paraguay?!.
But oh well, I guess we should be happy beacuase we have other "great" leagues like de Polish League (Ranked 54º) or the Gambrinus League ( Ranked 25º) or what about the US league wich is ranked 67.
But we don't have important leagues of latin america like the ones from Argentina (Ranked 5º), Colombia (Ranked 9º), Chile (Ranked 11º) or Paraguay (Ranked 15º)
You should consider this the next team you pick the leagues. We have great soccer here in Latin America.
You should also consider in my opinion the next suggestions.
-Adding the Champions League, I know there is a Champions League game but is not really that popular.
-Having more Stadiums would be nice.
-More national selections.
-It would be great if in the manager mode you could be the manager of an International team. The seasons would fly by very quickly but it would be really fun.
-It also would be great if in the cup finals the winner would celebrate que the actual cup, not with the just the ball.

Make your own team (pic you're squad, make your own stadium, design jerseys, choose team chants, maybe desighn the pitch. Also be able to use your team in manager mode.
SHOW REFS!!! Every one has said that, if you (E.A.) dont put that on the game you have to be fools.
Last but most certainly not least, have a list of names to pick from (so the comentators can actualy say your name.) And if your name isn't on the list be able to faneticaly spell your name.
