How to Play FC 27 Player Career Mode

Learn how to create your own footballer and begin your journey in EA SPORTS FC 27 Player Career. This step-by-step guide explains everything from creating your Virtual Pro to choosing your club and starting your professional career.

Start Player Career

From the FC 27 main menu, open Career Mode and select Player Career. If you are starting a new save, you may first be asked to choose which squad database you would like to use.

• Download Latest Squads – Uses the newest transfers, ratings, and squad updates.
• Current Squads – Uses the squads currently installed on your game.
• Initial Squads – Uses the original launch-day database.

For the most authentic experience, we recommend downloading the latest squad update whenever available.

Create Your Player

FC 27 lets you either create your own footballer from scratch or take control of an existing professional player.

Choosing Create Your Pro opens the complete player creator where you can fully customise your footballer.

Player Information

Enter your player's personal information:

• First Name
• Last Name
• Known As (Shirt Name)
• Commentary Name
• Club
• Squad Number
• Nationality / Region
• Date of Birth

Athletic Profile

Configure your player's physical attributes, including height and weight. These choices directly influence attributes such as pace, agility, strength, stamina, jumping, balance, and acceleration.

Position

Choose your preferred playing position:

• Position (Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder or Forward)
• Player Role
• Preferred Foot (Right or Left)

Appearance

Customize nearly every aspect of your player's appearance, including:

• Face Shape
• Skin Tone & Complexion
• Eyes
• Eyebrows
• Nose
• Mouth
• Cheeks & Jaw
• Chin
• Ears
• Hair Style & Hair Colour
• Facial Hair

Kit & Accessories

Personalize your player's appearance on the pitch:

• Boots
• Socks
• Ankle Tape
• Gloves
• Wrist Accessories
• Jersey Fit
• Sleeve Style
• Undershirt

Animations

Select your player's animations, including:

• Running Style
• Goal Celebration
• Set Piece Animation

When you have finished creating your player, save your changes and continue to the club selection screen.

Play as a Real Player

Instead of creating a custom footballer, you can choose an existing professional player from the FC 27 database and guide their career from the current season onward.

Select Your Club

Next, choose the club where your career will begin. Your favourite club may appear as the default selection, but you are free to join almost any available men's club in the game.

National teams cannot be selected as your starting club.
