How to Play Online in FC 27

Online Seasons

Online Seasons is a traditional head-to-head mode in which you select a real club or national team and compete against other players. Results contribute to your seasonal record and determine whether you earn promotion, remain in your division, or face relegation.

Step 1: Connect to EA Servers

Launch FC 27 while connected to the internet and allow the game to connect to EA online services.

Step 2: Open Online Seasons

Select Seasons or Online Seasons from the main menu.

Step 3: Choose a Team

Select a licensed club or national team. Choose a squad whose formation, pace, physicality, and attacking style suit the way you play.

Step 4: Review Your Lineup

Adjust the starting eleven, substitutes, formation, player roles, and tactical settings before matchmaking.

Step 5: Check Your Kits

Choose clearly contrasting home and away kits to reduce the chance of a kit clash.

Step 6: Start Matchmaking

Select the option to find a match. The matchmaking system will search for an opponent using factors such as division, skill level, team strength, location, and connection quality.

Step 7: Play the Match

Complete the match and attempt to earn the points required for promotion, a division title, or survival.

Step 8: Track Your Season

After the match, review your result, points total, division standing, and remaining fixtures.

Ultimate Team Online Modes

Ultimate Team combines squad building with competitive and casual online matches. Its expected online modes include Division Rivals, Champions, Draft, Rush, Friendlies, and limited-time Live Events.

Success depends on your squad, chemistry, tactics, player Roles, PlayStyles, and ability to adapt during matches.

Step 1: Enter Ultimate Team

Select Ultimate Team from the FC 27 main menu. New players will be guided through the initial club and squad setup.

Step 2: Build Your Squad

Place players in suitable positions and improve chemistry by combining footballers with compatible clubs, leagues, and nationalities.

Step 3: Choose an Online Mode

• Division Rivals: Ranked matches with division progression and recurring rewards.
• Champions: Higher-level competition with qualification requirements and performance-based rewards.
• Online Draft: Build a temporary squad and compete in a knockout series.
• Rush: Play fast-paced small-sided matches with other players.
• Live Events: Enter limited-time competitions with specific squad or entry requirements.
• Online Friendlies: Play relaxed matches or complete event-related objectives.

Step 4: Review Your Tactics

Set your preferred formation, defensive approach, build-up style, player Roles, and substitutions before searching for an opponent.

Step 5: Start Matchmaking

Confirm your squad and select Play. Matchmaking conditions vary by mode and may consider rank, form, connection quality, or event progress.

Step 6: Complete Matches and Objectives

Results can contribute to division progression, Champions qualification, event rewards, Objectives, Evolutions, and seasonal milestones.

Step 7: Claim Rewards

Check the relevant mode, Objectives menu, and Season Pass to collect earned packs, Coins, player items, Tokens, and other rewards.

Step 8: Improve Your Squad

Upgrade your team through packs, the Transfer Market, Squad Building Challenges, Objectives, and Evolutions 2.0.

Clubs Online

Clubs allows each participant to control a created Virtual Pro while playing as part of an online team. Positioning, communication, passing, and teamwork are especially important because most players control only one footballer.

Step 1: Enter Clubs

Select Clubs from the main menu and complete the introductory setup when entering for the first time.

Step 2: Create Your Virtual Pro

Customize your player's appearance, position, height, weight, and playing style. These choices influence how your Pro performs and develops.

Step 3: Create or Join a Club

Create a new club with custom kits, badge, stadium, and identity, or join an existing club through an invitation or club search.

Step 4: Choose Positions

Enter the match lobby and select an available position. Players should coordinate their choices to create a balanced lineup.

Step 5: Set the Formation and Tactics

Club managers can adjust the formation, tactical approach, set-piece responsibilities, and other team settings.

Step 6: Start Matchmaking

When all players are ready, search for an opposing club. Matchmaking may consider club division, form, region, and the number of human-controlled players.

Step 7: Earn Progress

Complete matches to develop your Virtual Pro, unlock attributes and PlayStyles, and contribute to your club's seasonal progress.

Step 8: Play Drop-In Matches

Drop-In matches let you play Clubs without committing to a permanent club by matching you with other available players.

Step 9: Enter Seasonal Competitions

Clubs seasons, league matches, playoffs, and limited-time events provide additional competitive goals and rewards.

Co-Op Seasons

Co-Op Seasons lets you team up online with a friend and play against another pair using real-world clubs or national teams.

Step 1: Open Co-Op Seasons

Select Co-Op Seasons from the main menu.

Step 2: Invite a Friend

Choose a compatible friend from your platform or EA friends list and wait for the invitation to be accepted.

Step 3: Select a Team

Choose the club or national team you want to control together.

Step 4: Prepare Your Tactics

Review the lineup, formation, substitutions, and tactical settings before entering matchmaking.

Step 5: Find an Opponent

Begin matchmaking to search for another online pair.

Step 6: Play Together

Both users share control of the same team and can switch between outfield players throughout the match.

Step 7: Track Your Progress

Results contribute to your Co-Op Seasons record and determine promotion, relegation, and title progress.

Online Friendlies

Online Friendlies allow you to play less formal matches against friends or other online opponents without affecting your competitive Seasons ranking.

Step 1: Open Online Friendlies

Select Friendlies from the appropriate online-play menu.

Step 2: Choose a Match Type

Select a Classic Match, House Rules match, custom ruleset, or another available friendly format.

Step 3: Invite a Friend or Search Online

Invite a friend directly or use matchmaking when the selected mode supports random opponents.

Step 4: Select Your Teams

Choose the clubs, national teams, or squads permitted by the selected friendly mode.

Step 5: Adjust the Rules

Available settings may include match duration, difficulty, game speed, stadium, weather, and special House Rules.

Step 6: Play and Experiment

Use Friendlies to practise formations, skill moves, set pieces, defensive systems, and unfamiliar teams without risking division progress.
