FIFA 19 Player Roles

In FIFA 19, roles are assigned to players who are playing on the pitch. Player roles are customisable and you can assign them to any player in your squad’s Starting 11.

You can review and re-assign the player roles in the TEAM MANAGEMENT menu > ROLES. In FUT, you can assign and preset these roles for your squads under Squad > Actions window > Player Roles. Auto-Assign Player Roles is also available in FUT which let CPU pick up the best players for the appropriated roles.

Here is the list of all six player roles in FIFA 19, including their instructions.

CAPTAIN		Team captaincy
LEFT SHORT FREE KICK	FKA SHO FIN Curve Preferred Foot: Right	Taking short free kicks on the left side of your opponent’s goal. A Right-footed player with good attributes like Free Kick Accuracy (FKA), Shot Power (SHO), Curve and Finishing (FIN) would be good for this role.
RIGHT SHORT FREE KICK	FKA SHO FIN Curve Preferred Foot: Left	Taking short free kicks on the right side of your opponent’s goal. A Left-footed player with good attributes like Free Kick Accuracy (FKA), Shot Power (SHO), Curve and Finishing (FIN) would be good for this role.
LONG FREE KICK	FKA Long Shots SHO Curve	Taking long free kicks. A player with good attributes like Long Shots, Shot Power (SHO), Free Kick Accuracy (FKA) and Curve would be ideal for assigning this role to.
PENALTIES	PEN SHO FIN FKA	Taking penalty kicks. A player with good attributes like Penalties, Shot Power (SHO), Finishing and Free Kick Accuracy (FKA) would be good for taking penalties.
LEFT CORNER	Long Pass Short Pass PAS Curve FKA Preferred Foot: Left	Taking left corner kicks. A left-footed player with good attributes like Long Pass, Short Pass, Passing (PAS), Curve and Free Kick Accuracy (FKA) would be perfect for this role.
RIGHT CORNER	Long Pass Short Pass PAS Curve FKA Preferred Foot: Right	Taking left corner kicks. A right-footed player with good attributes like Long Pass, Short Pass, Passing (PAS), Curve and Free Kick Accuracy (FKA) would be idea to be assigned to this role.

Tips

• Auto-Assignment feature does a good job for you as for player roles assignment. If you are not sure about the roles, just leave the job to the CPU by selecting Auto-Assign and reseting to the default assignments.
• Take note that you can always change the kick taker in the game buy holding R2 / RT button when taking corners, free kicks or penalties.
