This guide explains everything you need to know about Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) in EA Sports FC 27. Whether you are new to Ultimate Team or a returning player, understanding how SBCs work is one of the fastest ways to improve your club, earn valuable rewards, and make the most of your unused players. FC 27 also introduces the new 1-Click SBC feature, making completing eligible challenges quicker than ever.
What Are SBCs in FC 27?
Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) are puzzle-based challenges in Ultimate Team where you build and submit squads that meet a specific set of requirements. These requirements may include a minimum squad rating, player chemistry, leagues, nations, clubs, or special card types.
Once an SBC is submitted, every player used is permanently removed from your club. In return, you receive rewards such as packs, coins, player picks, Evolution items, special player cards, or other Ultimate Team content depending on the challenge.
Why Complete SBCs?
SBCs remain one of the most rewarding activities in Ultimate Team. They allow you to turn duplicate and unused players into valuable rewards while reducing the need to rely solely on pack luck or the Transfer Market.
Throughout the FC 27 season, EA regularly releases Player SBCs, Upgrade SBCs, daily challenges, and promotional content, giving players new opportunities to improve their squads and earn exclusive rewards.
How to Access SBCs
From Ultimate Team, open the Squad Building Challenges section. SBCs are organized into categories such as:
- Foundations
- Live SBCs
- Player SBCs
- Upgrade SBCs
- Campaign SBCs
- Favorites
Each challenge displays its requirements, rewards, completion status, and expiration date before you begin building your squad.
How to Complete an SBC
Start by reviewing the requirements carefully. Check the minimum overall rating, chemistry requirements, and any restrictions involving leagues, clubs, nations, or card rarities.
Build your squad using players already in your club whenever possible. This helps save coins and makes better use of duplicate or untradeable items. If you need additional players, compare prices on the Transfer Market before buying them.
Once every requirement has been satisfied, submit the squad and claim your reward.
New: 1-Click SBC
FC 27 introduces one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements ever made to Squad Building Challenges: 1-Click SBC.
For eligible challenges, Ultimate Team can automatically generate and complete an SBC using players already available in your club. Instead of manually selecting every player, the game builds a valid squad that satisfies the challenge requirements with a single button press.
The system also includes protection options that let you exclude important cards such as Evolution players, favourites, First Owner items, or other players you don't want submitted accidentally. This makes automatic squad building much safer than simply using the old squad builder.
1-Click SBC is especially useful for repeatable Upgrade SBCs, daily challenges, and other simple SBCs that previously required rebuilding similar squads over and over again. It significantly reduces the amount of time spent navigating menus while keeping valuable players protected.
Tips for Completing SBCs Efficiently
- Use duplicate untradeable players before discarding them.
- Complete Foundation SBCs early for easy starter rewards.
- Save high-rated players for premium Player SBCs instead of using them in low-value upgrades.
- Compare Transfer Market prices before buying expensive SBC fodder.
- Favourite important players or Evolution cards so they cannot be submitted accidentally.
- Use the new 1-Click SBC feature for eligible repeatable challenges to save time.
- Always review the generated squad before submitting it.
Should You Use 1-Click SBC?
For most Upgrade and repeatable SBCs, the answer is yes. The new feature dramatically speeds up the completion process while respecting the protection settings you've applied to important players.
For high-value Player SBCs or Icon SBCs, however, it's still worth reviewing the generated squad manually before submission to make sure you're happy with the players being used.
