FC 27 New Gameplay Features

FC 27 Gameplay Features

EA Sports FC 27 introduces a series of gameplay changes designed to reward manual skill, improve player control, and create a more fluid football experience. Rather than relying heavily on AI assistance, many of FC 27's new systems give players greater control over attacking movements, defending, passing, crossing, and set-piece situations. The result is a gameplay experience that places a stronger emphasis on decision-making, positioning, and football intelligence.

Dynamic Set Pieces

Set pieces have been expanded with greater player control and planning options. Players can now switch to the intended receiver before the ball is delivered, allowing for more creative movement and better timing. This creates additional attacking possibilities from corners, free kicks, and other dead-ball situations while giving players more freedom to execute their own routines.

Attacking Spatial Awareness

FC 27 introduces improved attacking intelligence focused on creating and exploiting space. Triggered runs have been enhanced, giving attackers more purposeful movement away from the ball and making it easier to create passing lanes, overloads, and dangerous attacking situations. Players have more tools to manipulate defensive shape and build attacks through movement rather than relying solely on dribbling.

Redefined AI Defending

One of the biggest gameplay changes in FC 27 is the reduction of AI-assisted defending. Automatic tackles have been removed, teammate contain marking has been loosened, and defensive-third team pressing has been reduced. As a result, defending relies more heavily on player input and positioning.

To support this shift, EA has increased manual stand tackle range, improved jockey movement speed, and enhanced manual interceptions and blocking. Players who actively control defenders and anticipate attacking moves will be rewarded more consistently than in previous editions.

Interceptions Rework

Interceptions have been rebuilt with a stronger focus on manual defending. Defenders now have greater control over passing lanes and coverage areas, allowing skilled players to create traps, cut off passing options, and force mistakes. The system places more importance on reading the game and positioning correctly rather than relying on automatic defensive actions.

Passing Fluidity

Passing animations and player movement have been refined to improve the flow of attacking football. Passing actions now transition more naturally into running movements, reducing unnecessary delays after releasing the ball. Players are also positioned more intelligently after making a pass, helping them become immediate passing options for one-twos, quick combinations, and possession-based build-up play.

Skill-Based Crossing

Crossing has been updated to better reflect the abilities of individual players. More skilled crossers can deliver the ball with greater precision into dangerous areas, creating better opportunities for teammates to attack the ball. This system introduces more variety in crossing situations and rewards players who use footballers with strong crossing attributes and PlayStyles.

PlayStyles Balancing

FC 27 includes adjustments to the PlayStyles system to create a better balance between special abilities and core player attributes. Individual attributes now play a larger role in determining player performance, ensuring that overall football quality remains just as important as possessing specific PlayStyles.

Improved Gameplay Fluidity

Across the pitch, FC 27 aims to deliver smoother gameplay through animation improvements, better player positioning, and more natural movement transitions. Whether attacking, defending, passing, or receiving the ball, actions connect together more seamlessly, creating a football experience that feels faster, cleaner, and more responsive.
