Basic Moves
As for basic dribbling, you need to be good at these moves:
- Carrying the Ball (L stick)
- Skill Moves (R stick)
- Protecting the Ball (L2/LT)
- Fast Dribbling (Holding R2/RT)
- Controlled Sprint (R1/RB Hold Down + Direction)
To carry the ball and pass your opponent you can just use the L stick. Using the R stick will also help you to do skill moves. Familiarizing yourself with the skill moves will also help you perform the dribbling very well.
The first step in dribbling is to protect the ball by pressing the L2/LT button. Sprinting, achieved by holding the R2/RT button while moving, helps you get past opponents. Additionally, slow dribbling, done by holding the L1/LB button, can be useful for creating extra space to take a shot or make a pass.
Do More Skill Moves
Mastering additional skill moves can greatly enhance your dribbling success. Familiarize yourself with all the available skill moves and practice them regularly. Remember, skill moves are categorized by the player’s star rating, so focus on mastering those that match your player’s abilities.
Have More Dribblers in Your Team
A player with a higher dribbling attribute (DRI) will perform better when dribbling. In Ultimate Team, aim to have at least two players with high dribbling ratings on your squad. If you’re not playing Ultimate Team, select your best dribblers for positions where you need to frequently maneuver the ball.
