Reserves

Reserve players are players who are under contract to a football club or a team but do not normally play in matches for the first team. Reserve teams often include back-up players from the starting-lineup and substitutes.

In FIFA and FUT, you have five player card slots as for your Reserve Players (abbreviated as RES). Having reserve players in FUT is not compulsory. You are not able to substitute your reserved players during a match. The players in reserve slots won't consume any contract and there is no any requirements (such as having contracts, being fit or having no red card) needed for a player to be in your reserve team.

Benefits of Having Reserve Players

By having players in your reserve slots you can benefit the following features in FIFA Ultimate Team when your team going to a match:

  • Recover their fitness
  • Remove their red-card ban
