EA FC 26 Ultimate Team: Champions & Division Rivals Updates

EA FC 26 Ultimate Team

EA FC series demands innovation with each generation, and EA FC 26 not only improves the game's graphics and gameplay but also enhances one of its most important modes: Ultimate Team mode. EA has officially released an overview of FC 26's Ultimate Team mode. Below, we'll focus on the new gameplay and changes to Champions and Division Rivals.

Division Rivals Mode

Among FC 26's Ultimate Team modes, Division Rivals has received a much-requested change. EA officials stated that after listening to player feedback, adjustments were made to address three key pain points in the mode:

  • The excessive number of matches chasing high-ranking rewards can be daunting.
  • After reaching a stable rank, opponents are matched with similar skill, providing little incentive to continue climbing the ranks.
  • After a winning streak, players are stuck in a higher rank, leading to long losing streaks and waiting for season resets.

Bounties

Bounties are randomly triggered challenges for your next Division Rivals match. Upon completion, you'll instantly earn rewards, including Division Rivals Points, Champions Qualifying Points, EA FC 26 coins, card packs, Season XP, and even a promotion bonus for skipping a stage, allowing you to advance faster.

Some examples of bounties include:

  • Score First
  • Score the last goal
  • Defend by Two or More Goals
  • Don't allow the opponent to score a single goal

Most of these bounties don't require winning; simply achieving the objective earns you a reward, ensuring every match is worthwhile.

Live Events

Live Events are more competitive bounties that attempt to match you with opponents who have taken on the same task, such as "Score First Goal." These challenges can only be completed by one player, resulting in a more competitive outcome and more exciting rewards, including FIFA 26 coins, Season XP, and more.

Limited Checkpoints

Limited Checkpoints are a new type of breakable checkpoint. They track your failed matches, and once they reach a limit, trigger a demotion. The number of failed matches allowed varies for each checkpoint, and the remaining number of lost matches is clearly displayed.

This feature is designed to prevent players from being stuck in a rank that's too high for their skill level for extended periods, helping them return to a more competitive matchmaking range more quickly. All limited checkpoints reset at the start of each Division Rivals season.

Champions

In previous versions, Champions were earned by playing Qualifiers, but this stage was often more stressful than regular Champions (for new players). For advanced players, Qualifiers felt like a waste of time.

In response to player feedback regarding excessive match counts, FC 26 has officially removed Qualifiers stage. Instead, players will advance directly to Champions by reaching a specific Division Rivals rank and accumulating sufficient Champions Qualifying Points.

Champions Challenges

To make Champions mode accessible to more players at lower ranks, EA FC 26 introduces Champions Challenges, a new, independent competitive tier within Champions system with its own format and rewards.

Champions Challenges creates a more accessible and growth-enhancing competitive environment for players at lower and mid ranks, while maintaining Champions' status as the highest competitive tier in UT mode.

Gauntlets

Gauntlets is a brand-new gameplay mode designed to fully test your club's depth and strategic strategy. Each Gauntlet consists of up to five matches, but the unique feature is that each match requires you to use a completely different lineup, including players on the bench.

This is a challenging gameplay mode, and many players may not complete it early in the game due to lacking the necessary players to complete a full team. It's best to wait until you have enough card packs or coins to play this mode. If you need to buy FC 26 coins, you can visit IGGM.com, which offers reliable coins and professional services to help you complete SBC challenges.

Gauntlet mode has no elimination mechanism and allows players to complete all matches. Winning or losing does not affect participation, but the more wins, the greater the rewards. The initial gameplay consists of three rounds, requiring three completely different lineups, and will be available every two weeks during the initial launch.

In addition, Tournaments mode will return, only launching at key moments during the season, rather than being a weekly fixture or a permanent fixture.

Disconnection Decision

Starting with FC 26, in all key online modes, players will have the opportunity to win directly if their opponent quits or disconnects unexpectedly during a tie. This includes situations such as "Quit the Game."

Note that this mechanic will have specific trigger conditions and daily limits. Similar to FC 25, players will have a limited number of wins per day through this mechanic, and specific criteria (such as match time and goals) must be met to be declared the winner.

These are the changes to Ultimate Team mode in FC 26. These changes show EA attempting to respond to community feedback and downplay the importance of wins and losses in this mode. Of course, the final experience will have to wait until the game is released to be verified.
