Copa America 2024 tickets are Out!

As fans worldwide prepare for an exciting summer with the Copa America 2024 and the Euro 2024, official sources have brought in more information on the Copa America 2024 tickets. The tickets are officially expected to go out on sale for the public by the end of February and are said to extend into March.

The official news from CONMEBOL has yet to disclose the exact ticket date, with the tournament organizers finalizing the ticketing strategy. Sources close to the organizers of Copa America have informed that the venues will sell tickets in contrast to other international tournaments.

The usual norm is that the official body takes responsibility for the ballot and the ticket sales, but this time, it will be different.

These partners include Ticketmaster or SeatGeek, based on the venue’s location. CONMEBOL will share the exact details shortly.

While official sources might have limited tickets, trusted resellers will have ample options for fans to choose from.

A quick search on a trusted reseller platform will provide you with several listings, including the Copa America opener that is set to take place between Argentina and Canada or Trinidad or Tobago.

Like how Inter Miami tickets skyrocketed, the Copa America 2024 tickets involving any game of Lionel Messi and Argentina are now in extremely high demand. The tickets for the opener involving Argentina can range from $563 to a staggering $66,537.

But with more listings for tickets, there can be other convenient and affordable options in the secondary market to provide every fan with a match ticket.

A Costly Affair

In contrast to the previous Cop America tournaments, this year’s tournament tickets will be costly. With a concise window between the ticket sales and the opening game, there will be a significant rush for tickets.

If the tickets go live after the Super Bowl, fans have just 130 days to make purchases and travel arrangements.

CONMEBOL is actively looking at the US market and purchase behaviours in releasing tickets, with the United States set to be the next big thing in football.

The 48th version of Copa America, which will end on the 14th of July 2024, is expected to be a massive competition. Reflecting on the success of the Copa América Centenario in 2016, which took place in the US, it was a massive success.

The tournament was a mega-hit, with 1.5 million spectators and an average attendance of 46,000.

This time around, the organizers expect this to triple and have more spectators turning up for Copa America. They hope to bring in a record viewership.

The record stands at 100 million in television viewership when the Copa America took place in the USA in 2016.

Morocco Not Participating in Copa America

Contrary to the rumours circulating, a source from Morocco’s football governing body turned down claims that the Moroccan side got an invitation to participate in the Copa America 2024, set to take place in the United States.

Denying any such correspondence, the governing body stated that “the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has not received any invitation from the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) regarding the national team’s participation in the Copa America finals.”

Several reports were circulating on various websites and social platforms, mentioning that the Morccooon national side was invited to the Copa America 2024 finals.

Since the 1990s, Copa America has had invitee teams participating in the championship. This was done to increase the popularity and provide a better competitive tournament for the rest of the players.

Last time around, it was Qatar and Japan.

As of now, Morocco’s involvement in the prestigious event still needs to be substantiated.

Lionel Messi Gets Booed in Hong Kong

As Argentina prepares for their title defence, Lionel Messi hasn’t had the best of tours with Inter Miami as fans were left heartbroken with Lionel Messi not featuring in Inter Miami’s friendly.

The fans waited for Messi to come onto the field in the touring game between Inter Miami and Hong Kong XI during the Tatler XFEST Hong Kong event.

But the anticipation and the cheers ended up becoming boos and calls for refunds as Mesis failed to make an appearance. Inter-Miami were quite eager to change their fortunes in a pre-season tour with no wins, along with the humiliating defeat to Al-Nassr.

The win was easy against the Hong Kong side, but the fans who came to the stadium were there to see Messi.

And Messi stayed on the bench.

Hong Kong’s government also showed disappointment over Messi not playing, with an official note stating they were also quite disappointed. They added that the event organizers owe the fans an apology and a rightful explanation.

It was more disheartening for the fans to see Luiz Suarez not playing owing to an injury. The other players, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, were only introduced during the second half. The speech from the club’s co-owner David Beckham also received boos and disgruntled cheers.

The disappointment was intense in the final 20 minutes when the fans at the stadium anticipated a substitution for Lionel Messi.

Ticket prices for the game stood between 880 and 4,880 Hong Kong dollars and have been on sale since December.

In an official statement, the club added that Messi did not play the game because of an injury and did not want to risk anything severe.

Especially at a time when the Copa America is around the corner, an injury would be fatal.

The team also apologized to the fans since it was something unpreventable.
