The FIFA World Cup 2022 is finally upon us!

After a four-year wait, we are finally days away from Qatar’s big event. With the preparations underway, the football community worldwide is looking at the fixtures to purchase their World Cup 2022 tickets.

In April, FIFA announced the fixtures for the competition.2022 will be similar to the previous tournaments, with the 32 teams divided into eight groups.

Two teams from each group will progress to a Round of 16.

There are several heavyweight clashes in the group stages, and we look at eight critical matchups of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

1 – Senegal v the Netherlands – Nov 21

The African Champions have a challenge in their hands as they face the Netherlands, who’ve made it back to the World Cup.Everyone remembered the iconic goal from Robin Van Persie in 2010, and now the Orange jerseys have the face of the might of Africa.

Senegal’s Sadio Mane was instrumental in taking the side to the African Conference Cup and now will meet a familiar face in the Netherlands team with Virgil Van Dijk – his Liverpool counterpart.

The Van-Dijk-Sadio Mane clash is enough to make this fixture a must-watch.Senegal also boasts a great center back in Kalidou Koulibaly and one of the world’s best goalkeepers Edouard Mendy from Chelsea.

2 – Argentina v Mexico – Nov 26

After the Copa America win last year, all eyes are on Argentina’s world cup campaign. When Lionel Messi’s Argentina side ended the 28-year trophy drought for the country, it was a feel-good moment for the entire football community. Now the worldwide fanfare is getting behind the Argentinian side this time around.

First, Argentina will have to face Mexico.Led by Tata Martino, Mexico is all out to ensure that Messi does not see the goalposts.

Messi will not be alone and will have the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Rodrigo De Paul, and Angel Di Maria.

3 – France v Denmark – Nov 26

The French are hot favourites for 2022.After they clinched the FIFA World Cup in 2018, they’ve been a side closely followed by the football world. It is safe to say that the France side is the most talented team on the grid, with Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, and Ousman Dembele.

Denmark, who are coming to the world cup after a promising Euro campaign, will want to make the best of the opportunity.Early indications are that this Denmark side shows the promise of the Luka Modric-led Croatian side of 2018 – the same fighting spirit is with this team.

The Danes made it to the semifinals of the Euros last year despite losing Christian Eriksen to a health scare during the match. He has since then returned to national duty and is currently playing in the Premier League. His presence at the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be memorable.

The France-Denmark World Cup 2022 tickets might be one of the hardest ones to get.

4- Spain v Germany – Nov 27

Andrés Iniesta’s extra-time winner moment in 2010 remains fresh in everyone’s minds, but since then, the team has not been able to live up to expectations.Luis Enrique’s appointment felt like a restart of greatness, but Spain is still back-peddling against the rest of Europe.

But this world cup can change it all.

The game when the 2010 FIFA World Cup winners face the 2014 FIFA World Cup winners will be special. The group also consists of Japan – an emerging force alongside New Zealand or Costa Rica.

The intensity and the importance of this game have elevated the demand for World Cup tickets, especially for this game.

Spain has found new found talent with the likes of Pedri, Alvaro Morata, Ferran Torres and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Germany saw an unfortunate exit in the Group of 16 at the Euros but now, with Hansi Flick Dieter, there’s new life on the side.

An attack that will see the likes of Thomas Muller, Kai Havertz, Leroy Sane, and Serge Gnabry will be a handful.

5 – Brazil v Serbia – Nov 24

Following the Copa America defeat to Argentina last year, the Brazil side is on the lookout to revitalize their side and bring back the winning spirit.

One of the most feared sides in the world, Brazil seemed to have lost its rhythm in the last two finals.

But the side’s re-emergence is eventful.

The arrival of attacking players, in the likes of Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Antony, and, more recently, Gabriel Martinelli, have helped shape the side into a completely different outfit.

The inclusion has allowed the Brazil side to go beyond being less Neymar -dependent.This has allowed the prolific center forward to play his natural game.

Serbia will boast of young talent with the likes of Dusan Vlahovic. With Norway not qualifying, star player Haaland will not be making his presence in Qatar, giving Vlahovic all the space to shine.

6 – Portugal v Uruguay – Nov 28th

Portgual and Cristian Ronaldo have been synonymous at the World Cup stage. This will be Cristian Ronaldo’s final FIFA World Cup appearance in the Portuguese jersey, and he also has the chance of becoming the first player to score in five different world cups.

He has the support of a talented squad with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix, Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias.

Uruguay, under new boss Diego Alonso, is no easy side.An exciting blend of youth and experience is on the side, with Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, and Diego Godin putting their hand up as experienced campaigners. The new wave of talent – Darwin Nunez and Federico Valverde brings balance.

A famous clash will be on the card with two prolific strikers from the Premier League – Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez meeting in the group stage clash.
