i like the ideas Matt (13187) gives. Also have pre-season tournamnets and have medicals for the players. also be able to swap players in a transfer like PES does but keep the money part like £1 000 000 for a player. in big matches have cut scenes of the team bus or the team warming up. have an online mode that can update the kits of a team. have visible managers like in uefa euro 08 so we can see fergie or wenger make hand gesters to the players. be able to replace or hire staff for ur club. be able to take up the role of an international manager in your career like steve mclaren did - went from middelsbourgh to England. be able to watch ur rivals play so u can choose tactics for ur next match. Watch other teams so u can see what players u may be interested in. more scouts. better youth academy. have reserve team and youth team matches so u can choose from them if theyre good enough to put in ur 1st ream line up or bench. have seperate budgets - transfer, stadium, staff, wages. be able to sign a contract for more than a year. creat what your manager will look like. have celebrations when u score like in euro 08 game when u press L1 and square. freedom of control of your players so u can dive, fight, mouth off at the ref and players or the manager. players to be more realistic in injuries, and a medic car or physio to assist the player. have the player wait on the side until the ref allows him to come back on. refs name, country and season stats to be part of the build up. be able to view the bench in the match and zoom in on crowd chanting. have more leagues and bascially what Matt said.

I can’t wait one year for it to be in Fifa 2010!
And listen, all teams in the top 22 of the fifa ranking are in included in fifa 08 except for Israel(who is ranked 21).
Im sure many people will choose to play as Israel.

Make a new game mode - “Player mode”, you start off at school boy level, if you play wel you get spotted by the better coaches, as you progress you get to play for bigger teams each season. This would be fantastic for be a pro. you could start with a randomly made school boy team… and end up playing in the Nou Camp in the champions League final.

I think that in Fifa 09 there should be real fixtures made etc, also for the commentators to say things eg “Last season when Manchester United played Arsenal, remember Hargreeves’s freekick?” remeniscing the old season comparing you to the old managers. I also believe that ahead of big cup finals there should be interviews instead of papers, maybe you could design your own manager from head to toe, then he could answer questions in interviews and be shouting on the side of the pitch. This could make it better and more realistic

I have played every single FIFA version since 2002 bar 2006, and I’ve enjoyed it very much. I was really hppy when you included the A-League in 2008. I have the following that I want to see in the game:
1) Next Gen ports for the PC and Mac (please make the mac version compatible with the ATi Radeon HD 2600).
2) More stadiums. I want to be able to play in the Telstra Dome, the Ernst happel stadium to name a couple
3) Manager Mode - Please fix bugs in UEFA Cup games in the calendar, the board expectations etc. Press conferences would be cool
4) More realistic gameplay: Players taken off on stretcher, visible referees, benches etc…

LETS MAKE IT MORE REALISTIC.
1) u r not the manager of the club, BUT THE OWNER. You buy the coach from a list of coaches availiable, OR ONE THAT U REALLY WANT, i.e benetez or morinho, sir guus hidink etc, and they come with a price tag + HERES THE BEAUTY: They have their own style of play that they prefer i.e attacking, defensive etc, and thats how u will set up the team according to what style of play the coach wants.
2) When you buy ur coach they tell you what type of player they r looking for to strengthen the SQUAD.
3) in the TRANSFER WINDOW, You can offer PLAYERS plus CASH for any potential targets.
4) ability to CHANGE the kit each year, or have a choice of 5 or 6 dif, kits that have been used over the years, that can be unlocked as bonuses. I.e liverpool black euro kit.
5) control of pro mode for life of the player. HOWEVER you (in pro mode, like in euro 2008) have to compete with 3 other young hopefulls to get 1st team games. You can end up spending a lot of time on the bench, may be loaned out to lower clubs, and when the contract expires, YOU have the choice to change clubs depending on what interest u get.
The fifa games get a lot lot better each year, I would like to see these ideas in this years game. thanx

in manager mode, they should have screenshots of the manager during games
also you should be able to customise your manager and choose appearence, clothes etc
also have an assistant coach, which you can purchase different ones in the transfer window mode at any time
so having a certain assistant coach can increase certain attributes of your players at any time
and finally when u put ur players through training sessions, their attributes should increase more, and because of this, if you dont train them them, their attributes decrease
i rly like the suggestions where you can make your own kit every season
and finally there should be comments or atributes placed by media or commentators for the style of play

create your own kit every season on manager mode, create your own match ball,create a stadium,create your own football boots with nike, addidas,puma,diadora ect,put sponsers on your created kits,more designs for your kit
If you win a trophy, accually show them lifting it, recieving medals est.
if there is a penalty the players argue with the ref and get booked and have fights or even spit
make the players swap shirts at the end of the match
I think the Linesmen and Refs need to be shown on the pitch to make it more
realistic
you should be able to give out a half time team talk or play as the subs and train at
the break and then lessen the crowd as people go inside
while on pitch, they can push players if they feel offended and you can dive and see if the ref bookes you

Shirt Length: In edit mode, when editing a players shirt length (short/long). To imply the idea of a medium length i.e how Cristiano Ronaldo now has his sleeve length when playing for Manchester United.

if you score a goal you could use the analog stick to run around, and push E.G. square for PS2 or PS3 to do a back flip or x to slide on your knees. But you could customize them and have 25 seconds max for celebrating.
commentary should be better, sometimes there are different commentators and they should say a bunch of new things about players

When you start a career you need to make a player and when you do you build him up to be a worldclass star and he can be called up to represent his country in a big tornament eg; World cup, Euros
you can see your team and manager on the bench and occasioanly seeing your manager jumping up
at the end off the season pick new style off kit and new sponsors eg; Arsenal fc sponserd by Emerats make it so you can change it to for example 02 or vodafone etc
every now and again a team mate of yours gets a new haircut
give out awards to a player in your team who you think deserves it at the end off the month
One of the biggest changes you could do in career mode is be the player like be a pro but in manager mode create a player and start off at a little club then get him better and go on to playing for e.g arsenal a world class team ,then when he is really good asign him to the national club or even captain

no ridiculus stats unless you train the play hard
make the reserve team available and let the user in manager mode pick his/her own players from the youth team.
boot designer
stadium designer in manager mode whenever the user wants to upgrade the stadium.
make the commentators say the names of players that are not well established

Put in the argentine league and others as well…and put in the champions legue and copa libertadores..and then put in the world cup of clubs…and fifa 02 was one of the best fifa games..the curled shot passes etc…u actually needed to have skill to play thet game not like all the latest fifas AI is no good …all u have to do is run down the side pass it across and like all your players will miss it even if it rolls by their feet..must be improved greatly…chants should be in and when you when tournaments or cups leagues etc ..SHOW THE CELEBRATION little things like that make a big difference….look at winning eleven…fifa should be able to do much better

I suppose adding more teams from Africa specially the north would be appreciated, Such as El Ahly Club and adding it to the FIFA CLUB mode as the team has been there twice but yet we always see Orlando Pirates instead of El Ahly, on the other hand Adding Egypt team would be appreciated in the international game play, they are the African Cup Winners for 2006 and 2008 I think It’s only fair to add them.

You should involve pre-season friendlies and cup competitions to prepare your squad and players for the season, also lower league teams should be involved. have a youth team set up to develop new talent. a new game mode where you can create a player and join a teams youth academey and get bettr and older and join better teams (like madden nfl 07) all stadiums correctly made (a lot of the teams in 08 use the euro style version very unrealistic). bigger impact from the fans; lower morale more fatigue if playing badly and if playing well more morale and better of ball movement and general play. in transfers let players express interest to leave and request a new contract, DONT HAVE A SET AMOUNT OF NEGOTIATIONS!!!!!!!! and finally give the fans a 3-d look and have them wear the team colours and celebrate and the correct times and sing correct songs.thanks!!!!!

Aight, ive grown up playing soccer and playing soccer video games, always been a fan of the fifa games keep up the good work, just a bit of some constructive criticism.. First of all, it would be nice if these world class strikers wouldn’t run offsides then run back on (coming from an offside position to be called every time), second of all, make it a little easier to score off of free-kicks. Also, it would be a big help if you tweaked the referee AI a little bit so they wouldn’t make such horrible calls but besides that all is good, good luck with 09

i think that the player ratings should be revised. i mean steven gerrard is 1 of the best midfielders in the world but his rating is only 85 and torres is also only 85.
need to see more from the Blue Square PL and premier league and championship stadiums.

I thought FIFA 08 was a dissapointment compared to FIFA 07. Anyway I have a large list of possible improvements for FIFA 09.
CONTROLS for PS2:
switch player when your team doesn’t have the ball should be x instead of L1- inconvenient. The x to switch players on PS2 was like that since at least FIFA World Cup 2002 and for FIFA 08 it changed
CREATE A CLUB:
-Manager mode - MORE MONEY to start- If you have good players on your team with high salaries- debt
-We should have more control on custom crests and kits like FIFA Manager
-CRESTS SHOULD APPEAR ON JERSEY AND SHORTS
-KITS should have REALISTIC DESIGNS of Nike, Adidas, Puma, Umbro with these logos appearing on the jersey
-Manager mode- the SPONSOR- T-mobile, etc. SHOULD APPEAR ON JERSEY and change when you change sponsors
-longer space for large names
-YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CREATE STADIUMS- like FIFA Manager
-Manager mode- The player should be able to choose rival teams for created clubs
-You should be able to choose the CITY OR LOCATION for where you want your team to be
-Start menu should not have a soccer ball replacing a created clubs crest

Add the Russian league, out of the past 4 uefa cup winners 2 teams were from russia. It makes no sense because the leagues from Poland, Norway, Korea, Australia and the States are in fifa 08 and those leagues are far worse than the russian one.

Here are my following ideas & solutions for your latest game fifa 09.
1 players) Goalkeepers(Gk).Lowered rankend goalkeepers should make blunders sometimes e.g going through the legs, droping & puting it out of play(from kick outs)And also when a teamate passes it back to the keeper he should be able to walk out of his box & look for a teamate that wants the ball(when a opponent is not around.Outfield players(def,mid & st)also lowered rankend outfield players should sometimes miss good chances.
2 clubs) All clubs should have there real stadiums,On massive derbies the stadiums should be full & the fans going crazy.On normal match days if your team/opposion team are 2 or 3 nil up home/away fans will start to leave(should be visible to see them going).And wherever the club is situated city/town you can see outside the grounds.All teams should be in it

i am a ps3 owner and here is what i mean:
for the first i want you to make a five minute clip when winning the league or a cup (for example champions league) where the team celebrating and lifting the trophy.
for the second i want more realistic commentators and reactions on the pitch.
and the last make the fans look realistic and make them leave if the team that they support is loosing like 3-0 or something.
thanks for making the best football game and i cant wait till this one comes out.

make sure Coventry City have there proper squad with all the team this year because fifa 08 missed out robbie simpson and make michael mifsud look normal

FIFA 09 Requests:
Dear EA,
Listen to my ideas, and FIFA 09 Will be absolutely incredible.
My ideas:
-We really need the following international teams added:
Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Honduras, El Salvador, Canada, Jamaica
Columbia, Chile, Venezuela
Japan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, North Korea, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait,
Tunisia, Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Egypt
Solomon Islands
Slovakia, Iceland
With these added teams, us gamers can create and enjoy some great international championships and have more freedom of international football.
I would also like to see the following international championships, all generic but based on real tournaments:
-South American Cup: The 8 teams in 2 groups of 4, then a knockout tournament
-North American Cup: The 8 teams in 2 groups of 4, then a knockout tournament
-American Cup: The 16 teams of the Americas in 4 groups of 4, then a knockout starting with the quarter finals
-African Cup: The 8 teams in 2 groups of 4, then a knockout tournament
-Asian Cup: The 10 teams in 2 groups of 5, then a knockout tournament with the top 2 teams in each group
European Championship: 24 European Teams in 6 groups of 4, the top two go through to 4 groups of 3, the winners of each group in the knockout phase.
-International World Cup: 32 teams in 8 groups of 4, Top two in each group go into a second round group stage of 16 teams, the top two from each group then go to the knockout phase starting with the quarter finals.
-British Home Nations Championship: The 4 British international football teams plus the Republic of Ireland in 1 group of 5
-Scandinavian Championship: 1 Group of 5 teams: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. Top two teams contest final.
-Confederations cup: 2 groups of 4 teams: Italy, Germany/Spain, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, Iraq, USA and New Zealand. Top 2 teams in each group in knockout stage.
All Championships should have a match for 3rd place, excluding the Scandinavian and British championships.
-In Group and knockout tournaments, the knockout stage needs to be different. For example, on FIFA 08, if you do a 32 team tournament, the quarter final sees the winner of A1 vs. B2 against the winner of B1 vs. A2, which is unrealistic; it should be the winner of A1 vs. B2 against the winner of C1 vs. D2. And in the semis that’s when a team can play against a team from the other half of the tournament, instead of the final in FIFA 08.
-When creating a tournament, the player should be able to choose if they want a 3rd place play off.
-When creating a tournament, we should be able to choose from formats of such tournaments as the 1982 world cup, World Cups 86-94, World Cup 1950, World Cups 74-78, and the current UEFA Cup format etc.
-The player should be able to play as as many teams they like, even all of them. This should be something called “Play the Cup†where you play in every single game in the tournament.
-You should be able to become an international manager. The player as manager can participate in his teams confederations tournament and the international World Cup.
-In manger mode, the World Cup should always be hosted by England, with ten stadiums (Villa Park, Stadium of Light and City of Manchester Stadium added on).
Qualification for the tournament should be as follows(only needed in manager mode):
-England-Qualify automatically even if England is controlled by the manger.
-European Teams: Qualify through European Cup. The 12 teams in the second group phase of the tournament qualify automatically. The 6 3rd placed teams go into two groups of 3. If England get into the last 12 of the European cup, then both group winners qualify. If England fail to get to the second round, only one team can qualify with a play off with the 2 group winners. If England finish 3rd in their group then the 4th placed team in their group go to the 6 team group phase.
-Asian Teams: The 4 semi-finalists of the Asian cup qualify, the two 3rd placed teams in each Asian cup group play off and the winners play off against the winner of New Zealand vs. Solomon Islands
-Oceania: New Zealand vs. Solomon Islands, winner plays Asian play off winner.
-South America: The 8 teams in two groups of 4, Top two teams in each group qualify, 3rd placed teams play off against each other, winner plays off against 4th Placed North American Team
-North America: The 8 teams in two groups of 4, Top team in each group qualifies, the Two second placed teams play each other, winner qualifies, loser plays play off against 5th placed South American Team.
-I would also like to see the following leagues:
J-League
Russian League
South African league
Chinese League
Argentine League
-The following stadiums are much needed:
Santiago Bernabeu
Luzhniki stadium
Athens Olympic Stadium
Ataturk stadium

-To make way for all these new things, here are some things we don’t need but are in FIFA 08:

Polish, Danish or Swedish leagues, (we need their best 3 teams each though for European competition)
Lausanne, or any of the Swiss or Brazilian teams in rest of the world for that matter
As a gamer a never use the above, so I feel we don’t need them. Where games are sold in Poland, Sweden and Denmark, include their leagues, but The UK, Australia or US don’t really need them.
-We also need 32 non league teams so we gamers can do the FA Cup in its proper format from round 1. The 32 non league teams should be:

I also think there are several annoying things in FIFA 08, that really need to be fixed:
-Create a player name lengths- their maximum is really short, they should have a 30 character maximum for player name lengths on each name, first and second, same with create club names, with a full up to 30 character Long name for clubs.
-In FIFA 08, star ratings have not really had enough effect, so I think they should have more effect on the overall outcome.
-I also think the player should be able to simply go on a mode called “Team editâ€. There you can raise and lower a teams overall star rating, and once done every player in the club will have their rating go up or down by the same amount to match that star rating. There should also be a “form editorâ€. Here you select a club and edit their form, as they will already have one. For example, Hull and Stokes forms would be going “up†at this point, whereas Luton’s form would be seen as going “Downâ€. This is a bit like the form editor on pro evo, although the FIFA 09 one should last a long time in manager mode.
- In manager mode, I think that I as the player should not be allowed to start at a Premier League club. I think that Premier league, Serie A, La Liga 1, French liga 1 and German Bundesliga 1 clubs should only be available after 4 seasons of successful management.
-In cup competitions, us gamers would like to see the full tournament tree (Only Group and Knockout competitions or pure knockout competitions with less than 16 teams in.) I would also like to see all group tables and group results throughout the tournament, not just in the group phase. The Tournament tree should include the 3rd placed play off as well. (If there is one)
-In Group and Knockout competitions, Team 1 in Group A plays Team 2 in Group A as the opening games, not a random fixture list because its annoying.
-International competitions should have a lot more atmosphere, like in World Cup 2002.
- In competitions we need to see a neutral half and half crowd, not just because of the “home†side when there isn’t one. All matches on neutral ground should have even supporting. You seemed to get that right in EURO 08 so keep it up.
-I would like to see more rest of the world teams, like the best 3 teams of: the leagues of Romania, Tunisia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Iran, the UAE, Uruguay, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine etc.
-The menus and screens need to be different and much more solid, like EURO 08
-A good intro video with good music, what about Lux Aterna by Clint Mansell?
-More club competitions like the African, Asian and European Champions leagues, UEFA Cup (not European ECC or EFC) and the south and north American club championships.
-In FIFA 08 and EURO 08 there’s an annoying bug when sometimes when your players receive the ball it moves 5 metres away from them in a random direction, this needs to be sorted.
-The menus need a good tidy up and need to become much more solid, like in EURO 08.
-In matches, the score board at the top of the screen should have the first 3 or 4 letters of their names, like internationally but with clubs as well. For example, a scoreboard might say: MANU 1-1 MAN C or LIV 3-1 CHE
-The trophy celebrations need to be better. There should be close ups of the players jumping up and down screaming and shouting, with us actually able to hear them screaming and shouting. There should always be a fancy plinth on which the winners receive there trophy by important looking people in suits. This is except any final held at Wembley, where you should see the players walk up the steps, Collect their trophy with handshakes from important people, turn around and lift up the cup, at which point the winning supporters give a massive cheer.
-When a team wins a cup, the supporters should be waving flags and jumping up and down shouting out their teams name, it should be a joyous occasion.
-The intro scene of games like quarter, semi or final matches should be really passionate.
-When a team scores a goal, a football song should come on in the stadium like samba de janeiro or Chelsea dagger. The fans should sing to that song.
-There needs to be more atmosphere at the end of tight games
-I would like to be able to create more players
-I would like to see all games covered by “EA TV†with Steve Rider introducing the commetators, Clyde Tydlesly and Andy Townsend (not Andy Gray, you make him seem like a grumpy moaning old man, when he’s not)
-I would like to hear Andy Townsend make more comments
-At the half and full time I would like to see the list of scorers, not just the last one of the half or game.
-The intro scene should feature the camera coming down from above the stadium into a view of the tunnel
-The tunnel should be more realistic with glossy tiles etc like reality
-Get rid of those annoying flashbacks that players have in the tunnel
-There should be a league shuffle mode so before manager mode you can shuffle the leagues so put any team in any league of that country, remembering ofcourse that if you put a team like Charlton, Wolves or Ipswich in the Premier League you would not be able to manage them straight away.
-There seems to be bugs sometimes in formation creator in FIFA 08, that needs to be sorted.
-The ability to seed and give byes to teams in tournament creator
-I would like to be able to choose from several trophies in cup creator mode
-More time taken in penalty shootouts as you see every player walk up to the penalty spot, but not like World Cup 2006 on DS, what was that about?
I really think these ideas would make FIFA 09 incredible. I know many FIFA gamers, and every single one of them agreed with all of my ideas. Some of these ideas are actually theirs. So please take note of this EA because at the end of the day we are the gamers and this s what we want to see. However I have also seen many other excellent ideas on this site. So please read this and carry out these ideas because this way FIFA 09 will be the best FIFA ever, and Pro Evo will be unbelievably outclassed.

when in manager mode you should be able to walk around your home grounds to go to things like meetings and to discuss transfers and press after the match like on wwe smackdown vs raw 2007 on career mode where you have your own locker room.
oh and before matches you should be able to give your squad a pre-mathc talk in the dressing rooms

You shud be able to take on people with the tricks like when you do a trick againgst computer they just tackle you no matter how well you time it :P also the kits shud be updatedwith the squad update :D
