i think for something like fifa 07 but better than that wit more options and the players faces will be more real and with a format to play and with a not very good computer.

I have read through a lot of the comments on here and most of them are quite worthy and are good innovative ideas however we have to look at what is most practical and most important to a soccer sim.
- Gameplay, the Euro 2008 gameplay was so much better that FIFA 08, passing, movement, pace, crossing, through balls and shooting. It is not perfect but this needs to be maintained and improved in FIFA 09. As longs as its still smooth and you can pass it around and vary the play like in real life. The main areas that need to be improved in the gameplay would be in order of priority: 1: Goalkeepers - Still too slow to come out, AI Goalies always save the same shots all the time, ie you rarely beat them at the front post and needs to be a lot more varied like a few fumbles etc. 2: Long balls, most of the long balls either go too far or not far enough, you need to have the feeling of being able to put the ball where you want it, Pro Evo was always good at this. 3: Long through balls, is it just me or do they always end up too short, in real life most of these fizz through to the keeper, so make this more realistic in 09.
- Tricks: These get their own section because I feel they need a change. The idea of having a trick stick is great, BUT only if the player is facing the same way all the time. I find it difficult to pull of tricks when facing in different directions and end up doing the wrong trick or no trick. Surely you should keep the trick stick working in the same direction no matter which was they player is facing? Or at least designate more simple tricks to actual trigger buttons or elsewhere on the pad.
- Weather Conditions: Simple, please apply the same weather conditions you have in Euro 2008 to FIFA 09, they are good, they work.
- Player Likenesses: Even in Euro 2008 they are not great, not even as good as Pro Evo 08 which is a bad game but at least the likenesses are good. What I dont understand is in other EA Sports games like NBA the likenesses are amazing, photo realistic. Cant you get that team to work on the players faces of FIFA 09?! At least get everyones favourite big name players right. I feel sorry for poor old Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen who dont look anything like each other!
Like many people I have converted from Pro Evo to Fifa in the last year. Dont make FIFA 09 a reason for me and many others to go back to Pro Evo, keep the gameplay and pace good and improve a few of the cosmetics, then everyone will be happy!

There should simultanneous games being played when clubs or countires are fighting for the title on thelast day. As in the constant updates score updates of the rival club should should be shown on the players screen during his match. And at halftime
maybe a little video of the rival teams game upto that point.
And please have trophy cleebrations after winning a cup or trophy. And where the players are awarded the cup and do a victpry lap in the field along with the cup.
And also do a parade in their city.

I have been a die hard fan of FIFA games. ever since it was stars around the bottom of the player. and have been amazed at the way that FIFA has come on leaps and bounds. Every year there’s a new touch, and i used to love the one touch skills (which wern’t really present in 06/07), now they are back its made it such a better game to enjoy. I agree with the be a fan for a match idea, ive always thought of it everytime ive been to see matches and think it would put a intresting spin on the game. also THE CROWD, i love nothing better than cranking up the volume when i play an Old Firm Game, but the crowd is dissapointing, bring back the chants, like for Celtic you had on 06 “Never Walk Alone” when it was in the pre-match stages before kick off, now i only really hear it in The Premiership which is annoying since the Celtic and Rangers matches are renound for their atmosphere!
I don’t believe in the Diving situation due to its not realistic, its just going back to past games which i found to be frustrating when diving occured.
The loading screen shouldhave more tasks and maybe achivements for example, megging the keeper or scoreing from a certain distance to keep you entertained while it loads.
players emotions should also play a big part, for example if its 1-1 with 7 mins to go, when ever a foul is commited / not given, you should see player thowing arms around and in the cut screens see them arguing with more than one player and being broken up by the ref of several players.

i found ps2 versions of fifa were alot less glitchy, there were times while playing it on the ps3 wen
free kicks were given, u didnt even know wat for! i think tackles should show alot more impact on
player, makiing the game a bit more competitive.
In manager mode, i wood like to see realistic money being earned and spent, IRL for example,
teams cood earn up to 10million pounds throughout the whole champions league,
whereas in fifa 08 your total earnings would have been 1.5million. if you had the ability to
earn realistic funds, it would mean you might have a chance of purchasing those high priced players
for your dream team, instead of saving for two- three seasons to either…
A. buy them when they are old
B. hope to get them on the free
another factor i would like to see in manager mode is offers from other clubs for your managerial
skills. i didnt see the point in the board of directors saying in fifa 08 they would
“like you to stay despite potential offers from other clubs”
when you werent actually getting any offers! money offers and increased transfer fund offers
would make the game a whole lot more interesting in my point of view, also entising you to
try out other clubs.

Please Bring back the Bernabeau Stadium(Home Of Real Madrid) That was a real let down on Fifa 08.
- More offical Stadiums Especially the Bernabeau and the Estadio De Dragao
- Changing weather conditions insstead of constant sunny weather all season long.
- Sharper and more responsive gameplay.
- Better Goalkeepers, sometimes their diving to save a goal is ridiculous.
- Official Champions League Tournament.
One last thing, Please Fifa, STOP MAKING WAYNE ROONEY LOOK FAT!!!!

PS3 version of FIFA 08 never had authentic sounds, not even as good as PC version e.g. ball hitting posts/cross bar, big thumps, sliding tackles, big clearance/boot, immediate reaction from crowd with no delays (delayed cheer when scoring in ps3 version) also wouldn’t hurt to make crowd respond to different and more aspects of whats happening on the field.

make manager mode like fifa manager.For example:
1)manager can be and player(if his age is under 35)
2)can manage a national team(for that needs all national teams and all national competitions like euro , copa america or mundial-i think you can add it because is easy ,if you use the database from fifa manager).
Now for the manager mode add the ‘manager rating’ that shows if manager can manage the team if the board rejects the manager he can work in the academy of the team or he can be assistand.
If you can (for manager mode) the scouters(the people who search for new talent players i mean)can find player’s from all countries or watch some young players who plays in teams or nations(and that for future bid or for next transfer season).
In the manager mode add the real bugets(the money who have one team for transfers etc)that i write because the buget who you add in the fifa’s 08 manager mode isn’t the true-one example is chelsea that team have as a buget 200.000.000 euro as buget not the 100.000.000 who you add.

People calling for the new leagues and nations fail to realise its a licensing issue, FIFA will have to wait to acquire some licenses its the same with Competition names
Also our time shouldnt be wasted with things like press conferences, reserves and youth teams, also blood is a no go as it would raise the games age rating and be very unnecessary

There’s a time delay when u use the trick stick. This ought to be instant (or at least closer to instant) for FIFA 09 and therefore easier to use players like ronaldo as they play in reality.

Urgent FLAW
since fifa 07 i have liked the direction you have been going with the game and each time you have improved with euro 08 being the best overall….
However, there is a major flaw with the game. i agree that long shots shouldnt be a gimme but you have made it way too hard to score a long shot or an unbeliveable goal which can happen quite frequently in real life.
So for a realistic game the fact that you cant do that makes it quite unrealistic. When you play a football game you want to know you at least have a chance of doing what you can in real life. So its a real shame that a really good game has a major put off like that in it. Also what the point of having a great button like the finesse shot if that never works either in 08
I am big fan of the new fifas and have converted a few of the die hard pro lovers to it. I did love pro evo 4 but after that I thought they were terrible.

The career mode to be altered so you can be a player in a 15 years career. You can be sold, request a transfer and so on. You play as yourself and you are then a footballer.

lots of people have mentioned to put the refs back on the pitch. i remember that fifa use to have it and im guessing you guys took it of because people complained about getting mixed up with the ref and your player. I no i did. Well I tink they should be on but depending on the teams you are (eg Man u and Arsenal) they are like red n white or red n black so dont make the ref that clour make it yellow

I like David’s ideas (post #12658) that would be brilliant.
Here are more suggestions;
- They should show the commentators inside the studio talking on derby matches as well as cup finals and other big matches. They should show a pre-game show, half-time show and post-game show of them giving their opinions on the match. It would be a good idea to have a player in the studio joining the other commentators, it could even be a created player or a manager. This would be good on big matches only.
- All the referees and linesmen should be on the pitch and the ball should touch the referee once in a while. There should be disputes between players and refeees and referees stoping fights etc.
- Goalkeepers should wear caps once in a while.
- The managers, reserves and staff in the dugout should be visible on the sidelines. They should be seen from the upper part of the pitch. You should see from far away, the manager and everyone else doing gestures and reacting to the play on the pitch. Like the manager is seen screaming to his players onto the field and nervously walking around etc.
- Every league should have their official football. Also, every league should have their own commercials on the stands including the ones with video on them. Every league should have their style of atmosphere, for example; in some leagues they like to have lots of banners everywhere and throw flares while in other leagues is the fans clapping singing and lifting their scarfs up. EA should do all this to enhance the feel of playing in different leagues.
- I get tired of playing in the same stadium all the time. IF EA cannot get the money to get ALL the real stadiums in they should at least create a very similar stadium for EVERY TEAM THAT DOESN’T GET A REAL ONE. This way at least you get to see a different stadium and one that looks more or less like the one that belong to a specific team. Then, EA should let you edit the names of every stadium like you do with a player and if possible, edit the generic stadiums themselves. This is only IF and I mean IF they cannot put in the REAL stadiums.
- EA should bring back the season highlights videos. They should also add Coca-Cola Championship season highlighs videos to buy.
- Every player should have his own physique, like some players are slim. In FIFA 08 many players look out of shape and also move like they are out of shape. Some players in FIFA 08 (PS2) where given tiny heads, like Steven Gerrard. So work on the different styles on bodies and the agility of the players because they are too fat and slow.
If you put these thing into FIFA 09 I will be very happy. We the fans give you many brilliant ideas and I don’t think it’s fair that we get almost the same game every year. We have to shell out our hard earned money only to become dissapointed with the lack of effort and creativity on your behalf.

- Deeper player creator, something along the lines of Mass Effect’s character creation system, since you own it now.
- Make it easier to scroll through long menus
- Expand manager mode, for example, have offers come in from national teams as well as other clubs. Guide national team through World cup and/or Euro Championship qualifying and port data over to the next World Cup and/or Euro game.
- Ability to create a manager avatar that will be seen on the touch line like in Euro 2008
- Training minigame (also have the option for auto training)

i agree with the wether conditions..its boring playing with no wind or rain. make the game more interesting. i believe after everyseason you should be able to change the away kit of the team you are managing. and when you get a new sponsor, please put them on the shirt. perhaps make the game faster. you should make every league look and sound different, say england; crowd moving, cheering, raining etc. even a carrer mode. you start as a young player say 13 at a youth club at a country of your choice. make your way up the the best clubs and play for your national team. GET THE CROWD INTO THE GAME. WHEN A GOAL IS SCORED MAKE THEM JUMP UP AND FLAGS GO EVERYWHERE AND MAKE THEM SOUND LOUDER!!

For classic players have: Davor Suker, Zvonimir Boban and Slaven Bilic
Also make it you can choose real coaches. In which case, add Slaven Bilic (Croatian Coach) becuase he is the most animated and coolest guy alive.
Like I said in a previous post: Make Luka Modic, Vedran Corluka, Danijel Pranjic, Ivan Rakitic, Eduardo da Silva and Niko Kranjcar really good so that the Crotian National Team is a 4 1/2 star team!

There should be Tournament modes for national teams. Maybe like adding a World Cup and the qualifying group stages for it. There should be also in Manager Mode where you can control a national team instead of a club. Also more national teams should be added like in Euro 2008 game. Especially add the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team because they are never on any FIFA games.

…..i think in fifa09 there should me more commentary depth,better commentators giving indepth analysis of the live game.During game play managers needs to get involved more,like when goal scored more action at the bench also should be shown at a glance…
-Then i think the jerseys should get more realistics like,since i am a ‘manU’ fan i would like to show the sponsers emblem on their jersey ( AIG,Vodafone…..).
- Riviraly matches should be more competitive than all othere matches.
- Better Control of the ball speed and curve after the ball is released from the boot.
- Indepth analysis of the matches after the match is over (what went wrong or how to improve on certain skills).
- May be a talking\visual radio (Like in Uefa 05) which i felt was good!!!
- live climatic condition in the leguea stadiums…..(rainig,sunset,ht&humid)
- Subs must be more active like warming up at the sidelines…training …joging around…

The Goalkeepers are rediculasly good, in create a player dont have any unlockable hair, boots etc.& dont put unlimited XP! and a stadium creator would be great and also been able to choose the celebration after you score a goal, the crowd should get involved more eg. streakers, abuse ref, riots etc. and the ref should be on the Pitch!

Game play and graphics are amazing.
BUT!
Players need to run to the ball. This is a huge missed factor in 08. Players sit their and watch the ball get intercepted and you cant even move the player.
Goalies after making a huge save look like beached whales. They are all quick and need to get up to attempt to save the rebounds. Better goalies should have a great shot at saving the second shot.
The only players that have great ball control shoouldnt be just Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, kKaka. All players should have a decent amount of ball control. in 08 players 88 and lower control the ball like a fat kid in tight underwear.
First touch is horrendous, I apologize but the ball does not bounce around when a player like Ronaldo receives a pass.
Players lose the ball to quickly. and slower players should not just lose the ball cause there slow they need a breakout speed affect.
Defense glitches way to much. They should jump to intercept simple passed balls. and should run into eachother or pass the ball of eachother.
I understand smaller leagues don’t need to have every stadium but teams like FC Porto or SL Benfica and other top ranked lower leagues should have their stadiums produced
As for the kid above me the USL is not necessary. I do agree with the Russian and Argentinian leagues.
The teams in the game the way they are are perfect. The more active and better soccer leagues are in the game. The ukranian superleague doesnt belong in FIFA it wont have any1 play with those teams. Besides anyone from ukranian is most likely a barca man u or english premier fan.
Online play should allow you to see how strong your opponents internet connection is. I HATE GETTING caught with a kid with no connection.
and last one. PLEASE TAKE RONALDINHO OFF THE COVER IN THE USA
