FIFA 12 Formation Tips: The Best Formations
The best formation is: 4-1-2-1-2(2). Next to it you may set your team formation to 4-4-1-1(1) or 4-4-1-1(1). 2. Have more than one plan to score. Don’t stick with one method of scoring, strategize different ways to go to your opponent’s box.
3. You don’t need to always sprint. Remember your (online) opponent is under pressure when your attackers have the ball inside his penalty box. So you don’t need to rush, just concentrate but make your decisions quickly before your opponent reacts.
4. Practice on counter attacks. Counter is a good way to score.
5. Score from the corner kicks. Learn how to score from corner. Try to win as many corner kicks as you can.

Defending, Calling the Goalkeeper in One-on-One Situation (Online mode)

Bringing the goalie off his line to face the attacker is a good defending technique in one-on-one situations but it could be risky as well. The attacker can easily dribble the keeper, pass the ball to a teammate who’s running parallel with him, or simply chip shot and send the ball to back of the net over the keeper’s head. As an attacker, this situation could be also stressful as they have to be quick otherwise the defenders reaching them from behind. This is the key, as a goalie, you need to make the attackers confused, so they would not be sure what they want to do (either chip shot of direct shot or pass the ball to a teammate). You should know when to bring your keeper forward and when to send him back (when to press the calling button and when to release it). It should be very tricky, you should read your opponent decision beforehand, for example bring forward your goalie halfway but once you feel the attacker wants to chip shot, you should release the button so the keeper stops going forward but going back to his line instead to prevent the goal. Timing and pushing/releasing the calling button (Q) are very important. Again, bring the goalie halfway and release the button to 1) buy time 2) make attacker confused 3) prevent his shots (esp: chip shots).

Attacking tip: use l1 + triangle for slotted through pass to the wings from inside your half then cut from the wings and pass the ball to an open attacker works every time and works best if you have a speedster as the winger
only problem with fifa 12 is the penaltys they are terrible

Tactics are very important. The only thing I can say is learn how they effect the game. Read they information that they give on each one. Formation is important as well. 1 or 2 strikers? how do you like to use your midfield? Figure that out too. I noticed that by using custom tactics and formations it raised my play level dramatically. Dramastically!

are all of these tips in relation to where your player is facing? IE: If I am playing left to right – my striker carries the ball toward goal (to the right of my screen) and then to do a move such as the “Turn and Spin” am i pulling *back* (Down) on the right analog stick and then right or left – or am I pulling back (LEFT – toward my goal, but ‘back’ in relation to my player facing RIGHT) and then “down” ?

If you change to high pressure you can’t also play counter attack. They are both presets that tweak all the tactics. High pressure slows down your attack to focus on aggressive defense and counter attack speeds up your offense and emphasizes long passing. Two different styles of play you can do both. I recommend tweaking the custom tactics to suit your style of play. If you don’t pass long, why have your guys run long? If you have fast players, playing a slow build up style doesn’t allow you to utilize your speed. Look at how you play and figure out how you should tweak tactics based on that. Oh and use subs… thats what they are there for.

Honestly I have gone through most of the honourable comments here and I also think if EA can add african teams based on the rankings rather than same cameroon south africa stuff.we should see our managers talking to the players,managing a national team,domestic cups like the cup of nations,Europe cup and the world club championship.seriously let work hard and make our loving EA fifa game Loving and enjoyable.thank you.

1) get as much players in defence as the game would allow.
2)make sure u have fast wingers and quick attackers for a quick counter
3)activate high pressure and set your technique to “counter attack”
4)learn how to hold the ball and be patient so your team can support your scanty attack
5)use midfielders that have high attacking and defensive ability
6)never tackle AI’s striker. contain him . he will surely dribble past you if you tackle.
7)AI will finally make a mistake if you are patient with containing it
8)try long lobs to beat the AI’s midfield.
9)get a striker who is good in the air and feed him from the wings
10) try more of finnes shots. they are more reliable.

Im new to thte FIFA world (converted from PES) but think FIFA12 (PS3) is REALY amazing!
I have one critical question…
How do you Lob pass?
I have now played aprox 150 games online, and lost alot, (but getting better, pratic is a good thing;))
But playing 10 games, I end up loosing 3 or 4, from Lob passes, behinde my defence line, and when I try to do it… I only succed 1 out of 10..
Is it L1 + Triangle?? L1 + Square??
The same goes for Crosses into the box… My oppent does this like theres is nothing to it, and 8 out 10 always scores… but when I try.. i fail.. and I try dobble tap ect.. I NEVER score from crosses.. :(

Lob pass or the lofted pass is done by pressing L1 + triangle
And to your concerns I would say its because you defend poorly people don’t score me goals like that and hardly do they score me through crossing because I defend well you’re new to fifa like you said so I’ll take a. While before you can defend properly

lob passes are L1 triangle and if you want to score from crosses then make sure you have a good finisher waiting in the box (good at headers and shots) and make sure the crosser has good crossing stats. Another thing is only cross if you see your player making a good run into the box, this will help them get the ball easier and get more power.

Hi,
I have same problem with my brother. He can score when he wants.
So I am playing with Real Madrid , with 4-3-3 tactil until when I score one or two goals. After that I change it into 5-3-2 ans ultra defense. It’s become boring for him but if you want to win this game u have to keep your score. this reality, u cannot make it by changing anything in Control Settings. You may but , u cannot get to be use it until FIFA 2013 starts.

i think celtic are the best 3 and a half star team to play with, average defence, killer midfield with ki,kayal, commons and forrest, and an outstanding strikeforce with hooper and stokes, it makes h2h seasons really good for someone new to fifa (being an ex pes player myself

the most popular ones would be a dazzle DVC 100
or a Hauppauge HD PVR.
tho i wouldn’t recommend buying the Hauppauge unless you have a good $200 in your pocket to spend
So I’ve been trying the dipping free kick as they showed in the video and after maybe about 100 times of it not working I found this one thing that did work. When you’re doing the free kick like they show in the video you should also hold the right stick down or in the direction you want. With out this the ball just goes over the post no matter what you do.

Why is there not any control over the finances. Such as sponsors, ticket prices, weekly income/outgoings? Also stadium improvements/ building would be fantastic too! Overall I love the game play of this game, the match looks fantastic! They just need that little bit more on the side of detail in career mode. (club information). Also you never know the size of crowd apart from looking at the stands in the match. I want to see some numbers please!

I’m in my second season – player career – and it appears that we’ve sold 2 of our very best players (for not much: £14m each) AND all our goalkeepers retired… so we have no recognised goalkeeper in the squad…!!! The role is being filled by one of the team’s best attacking midfielders! How DAFT is that… the AI shows no sign of chasing a goalkeeper and as far as I can see, I’ve no way of pushing it in that direction…CRAZY!

Fifa should also do champions league europe league world cup euro africa cup and any other big cups u have dis will make d game very intresting and harder to win trophys and onther sugestion is dat d ref shouldnt always get d offside correct and players should be aloud to argue with d ref if dey choose to.d new fifa should also have real interviews with new players mangers after matches and traing in manger. Mode to make the players overall go quicker in d mode i know dis is a lot but i hope dese ideas are usefull

in the next fifa game maybe you can choose to argue with the referee and there is a chance the referee will change the decision or give you a yellow card

That’s retarded haha when has the referee ever changed his mind about a call? Even with all of the arguing the only thing it CAN accomplish is a yellow card for the player who argues. If you want a pointless yellow cards just slide tackle, at least this way you could injure a player…

i think fifa should now be able to make the players hair move.second the manager mode should be in such a way dat u can have post match interviews very much like the real thing it would be interesting.third champions league should be included as well as managing a national team on career mode.

I am guessing you never finished the first year of manager mode? There is Champions League after the first year, if you do good haha you can do pre-match interviews haha managing nationals would be a good addition to the game. Unfortunately they are unwilling to combine FIFA with FIFA World Cup.
