Your Ideas for FIFA 09

After looking at FIFA 07 and FIFA 08 on the XBox 360 and FIFA 08 on the Sony Playstation 3. I have come up with the following ideas in which the next edition in the FIFA series can become a bigger success and an overall improvement on the previous games on the consoles (above). And here they are:

1 ) Shirt Length: In edit mode, when editing a players shirt length (short/long). To imply the idea of a medium length i.e how Cristiano Ronaldo now has his sleeve length when playing for Manchester United.

2 ) Wrist Bands With Shirt Length: With that in mind, to imply the idea of being able to wear wrist bands with a medium sleeve length shirt i.e Again, referring back to Cristiano Ronaldo when playing for Manchester United.

3 ) Different Coloured Licenced Boots: Again, still in edit mode. When selecting boots to give to players (including ones that have been unlocked and bought in 'Fan Shop', to imply the idea of being able to change the colour of boots. i.e If a pair of white and red Nike Mercurial Vapors are made available through the 'Fan Shop' mode. Then when selecting them for a player, then the boot colour can be changed with a colour palette that are actually available for that type/style of boot.

4 ) Create-A-Player: When creating a player and using the EXP points that have been bought/purchased through the 'Fan Shop'. There should be enough points for the player to make him a top player with an overall of '90'. Meaning created players can do skills moves like the 'Rabona'. etc.

5) Create-A-Player Season: Create a player and start a career where if you play well you might be called up to take trials for a top quality team and if you get in and excel then the prize is sweeter as a call from YOUR national team is the highest reward.

Fifa 09 would be amazing if you could build your own ground, and change the ticket prices to what we want them. Make your own kits after a season etc change color different sponsors and patterns, more skills with the ball and make the tempo of the players and ball effects a lot faster. Make the graphics on the crowd incredible and the proper football club songs chanted around the ground with flags being passed around and horns being blown. When its a cup match have the teams come out with etc "Champions League" over the tunnel and line up singing the national anthem that would be great. Also make it so you can tackle the goalkeeper on 50/50 tackles. Make it so you can see the lines men wave there flag when its offside or a foul, and your manager shouting at you if you lose the ball. all this would be incredible and i cant wait for Fifa 09 to come out. I think the thing people want in the game is their own club like personalised like all the clubs or most of them have their own Stadium I know it is a lot to ask but that is what people want. Also I think If people could hear their teams chanting their own songs it would be a lot more spectacular. And things like finals they should be made a lot more noticeable like you should see balloons in crowd etc. And if you could see the crowd with their teams kit and colours etc. It is just personalising the teams. The Gameplay is already fantastic it is just other things that need adjusting. Also I agree with Greg make the teams stadiums called their own names

please can we have white heart lane for the ps3 this time. also a bit more time spent on the crowd make them celebrete for goals and moan at bad misses ect.

You've got to put in the Serbian league and the national team. We got to the World Cup for God's sake! And if they yet again decide not to put in the entire league you've got to include Crvena Zvezda and Partizan in Rest of World AT LEAST.

1. Please make all goalkeepers kits authentic.

5. Young stars that play for resevers ETC
6. Loved on fifa 08 when player gets injured people come on to treat him. Be good if sometimes injury was so bad have to be strecherd off!

I love fifa and i think the commentary was excellent.

In manager mode you should be able to manage a club and then if you are doing good with them you should be albe to manage a international team an that will be good

The Backpass Rule
Sometimes i find that a player passes back to their keeper and the keeper picks the ball up! You might argue that it was a touch to take the ball away from my players feet, but what happened friday night when I was on fifa was definately 100% a backpass.

A nice overhead through ball and my player and their LB shoulders locked, their LB eventually got the ball and passes it back towards their keeper all the way up the line (im certain that all the way up it shudda bin a corner) then another defender gets bhind the ball to clear it and then after he hit it, the keeper caught the ball! so thats a blatent pass back! So the rule needs to be brought in, when the keeper controls the ball u can press a "pickup" button. If it was your player who passed it back then u pick up an indirect free kick in the penalty box is awarded.

I think that the Netherlands players should have real names and real kits because it does me and my mates head in. i also i think that after 1 season in manager mode you should be able to change the kit and you should be able to build a new stadium for the club that you are at i hope you will make FIFA 09 alot better than FIFA 08 thanks

Keep bringing the game out on ps2 please.

You should be able to live the life of a footballer, as in start off be playing for a really small possibly village team and work your way up. This could be done as a player or a managers perpective with the manager making your way up to international.

Also the Goalkeepers are really, really bad in 08... they have no realistic movement what so ever... Plaese fix this...

Furthermore more celebrations, like saltos n' stuff plus it should be better when you are awarded your trophy...

There are alsp a million bugs on the online part of the game... The fact that you are able to pull the plug and get out of a defeat is just really bad...

And finally you need to have COMPLETE control over the players, plus you should really speek with the makers of FIFA 08 to ps2 'cause thats just a better game than the one on ps 3... You should be able to take freekicks quick, and pull the keeper in the final minutes of games if needed...

Ang one more thing, it is not possible to get a red card no matter how nasty your tackle is as long as you are not the last man...

Soccer defines my life but whenever I play soccer video games, i am always pissed.
I just defected from PES cuz they dont listen to thier fans and I am impressed with FIFA but they have a long way to go with the GAMEPLAY

1.Change the bal physiscs. There is too much bounce on the ball. Especially during throw-in. The ball should spin more when there is a placed shot. Most importantantly, the ball should always be at the players feet. This allows dribbles and passes to be more fluid.

2. Some movements should be removed esp when players stretch thier legs. That is too unreal. I have scored countless owngoal when i was trying to clear the ball of the line but the player chose to stretch and make a touch with the ball.

3. Include more African teams especially Ghana, Egypt and Ivory Coast.

4.Speed up the game play a little bit

5. Goalkeepers should be more responsive. Gosh what's up with goalies throwing thier hands in the air when the ball is next to them and it is going to be a corner kick. The goalkeepers in fifa 08[ps3] is really poor in my opinion. They make acrobatic saves from simple shot but sit to watch when the ball is struck close to them.

6. When there is a substitution, make a cut scene where players are getting water to drink, talking to the coach about tactics etc.

7.Elasctico and other special dribbling skills should only be execurted by player who only do it in real life. Whats up with every player doing the elastico, rainbow etc. it makes the game unrealistic.

8. Allow 2 player corner kicks

9.Let the player stats have more meaning. I cannot count the number of times that I have used SHAWN WRIGHT-PHILIPS to score headers during online game play.

10. Menu screens should be more simple. Players should be able to return to lobbies after a game has ended. Also allow player to communicate whenenver there is a pause, halftime or game over.

as you start up a game there should be more match analaysis

You should get 60 million pounds if you win the premership and also when you create a player you should have as many points as you want like on fifa 07 not o8 where there is only about 8,000 points to use to upgrade your custom player.

Get rid of the stupid offside trap or dramatically improve it, i was to see better A.I off the ball. And we want linos and refs on the pitch not just showing the ref in video cut scenes.

i recon that you should be able to change your kit and kit sponsers for any clubs.

also i think that in manager mode you should be given transfer kitty's in every transfer market

if the match i important the stadium should be packed.And half empty when the match is unimportant

Stadiums should have proper names even if they are generic. eg insead of the Estadio de Las Artes for Blackburn call it Ewood Park and for Tottenham call it White Hart Lane, and for Wolves call it Molineux etc.

Oh yeah and make it so that you can't just go to any team if your prestige level is low. I started at Crewe Alex, left after one season with a prestige level of 3 and went to Juventus, which is so unrealistic. But you MUST make international management possible as well as prestige and transfers

Please , Please , Please make it possible to change the colour of the unlockable boots , E.g a colour pallete or something similar . Please could you make it possible to edit DEFAULT players hair styles , build , facial hair etc. and not just created players .
I feel that if the above and some other small adjustments were made to the next Fifa game iot would improve the product and please your loyal fans such as me , please take my ideas in too account and i await on an improved game for Fifa 09 .

i think that you should be ableto choose who goes up for the corners and certain free-kicks and stuff, because the full backs go up when really i would want the centre half, who can actually head the ball, to go up for it!

Also, I would like to be able to dive and sometimes not win the kick or get booked and stuff because it can show to kids playing that diving can be a risky strategy.

Lastly, I would like the Linesan to make the wrong descision (can't spell) every now and again because it would teach children that linesman and referee's get it wrong and they must learn to accept that.

needs a better menu, like in 07... 08s is too dark.
also in be a pro mode you should be able to buy a house or a car and stuff like that

Manager Mode: Have updates on league standings/cup competitions managers on different teams being hired or sacked, around the world eg. on newspapers or messages. Customize your manager, not just name, but age and appearance like in fifa 07. *Be-able to manage international teams*. Transfers should be accessed throughout the season, not just when the windows are open. Other teams also need to be more realistic, as teams never change, even when new players are bought, and players are always fatigued. You should also change the currency you use depending the team you are managing for instance in La Liga, Euros should be used or $ in the MLS. Everytime a player goes onto the Free Agents list, they stay there forever unless you sign them on Fifa 08. This HAS to be fixed by Fifa 09 as it is very unrealistic.

have more international squads, teams, and stadiums. Also have all the tournaments in all leagues.

team traits, eg, aresnal'e one touch passing free flowing football. And team traits like title challengers, because it is unrealsitic that aresenal end up somewhere between 7-13th place every season. Another option should be cup challengers, eg liverpool or tottenham, rubbish in the league, but good in cups.

One other thing is the speed of players, players like walcott and ronaldo should be able to dam near everyone for pace, at the moment, players of average speed can catch them alot of the time. Could you also fix it so that when yo improve a players acceleration, it actually makes a difference, because at the moment, its usually the created player, but it takes it a while to get upto top speed even with acceleration at 99.

Finally, the fouling system, i can commit a leg breaking tackle on someone, and walk away without a card, and the other player wouldnt even be hurt!

Fix these and a few other minor problems and pes will go bust.

Celebrations in fifa 08 was not that good enough and plzz try to improve the celebrations in fifa 09. The captain and the manger with the team should lift the cup with colourful decorations and celebrations.

Also you should be able to manage an international team like the way you do in the club. the transfer swap policy should be there. Enough funds are needed in the bigger clubs and should inform the club that this invester wants to buy the club for eg: 350 million pounds.
After the fisrt season each club could change their kits and should be able to select their sponsors according to the deals.

i think you should scrap the scottish league

pushing and bulliying referees
captain should be talking to manager when subs come on
voice control so u can speak to the ref through your headset
on manager mode u can buy a new stadium take tours of it and upgrade it facilities and capacity and youth academy all over the world and reserve squads better sponsers and they show up on the kit and stadium

the new players have pictures on transfer market and instead of date of birth it says there age

3) improve goalkeeping in 1 on 1 situatuions its so easy to score doing the same routine
4) real life trophy presentation and f.a cup and carling cup finals being held at wembly
5) better transfer dealings in manager mode so you can swap players negotiate contracts etc
6) real free kick techniques for players like ronaldo
7) real life referees
8) more leagues such as the russian league
9) play-offs for the championship, league 1 etc
10) create a team and players
this would improve on the game so much

I really want to experience the graphic of Xbox 360 in my PC . i think its possible???

and my friend has xbox360 and FIFA 08 is awesome in that i have to admit...

but PC?...it makes me want to play some other footballing game....:(

I think you should be able to see the referee and linesmen and i would luv to see at the end of a cup when u win that u dont just see the first 11 player but also ur subs and reserve and that u can get more sponser offers and more stuff like boots and stadium and u have more chooses when u make ur own player THX..

Also, specialised teams like Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid should have, in manager mode, special links to their B and C teams, so that they can draft up youngsters. The youngsters are PREFERABLY REAL - I can't stand using fake youngsters with real players. These players should be in the squad lists too, so that they can be edited to have higher stats, and transferred through Club Transfers. Teams like Liverpool and Manchester United who don't have B and C teams should have links to their reserve and youth teams under 'Team Management' of Manager mode.

1. Russian, Saudi Arabian and Ukrainian leagues, PLEASE. I miss Jo, Daniel Carvalho, Vagner Love, Igor Akinfeev, etc from Russian league and Pyatov, Ratinho, etc from Ukrainian league. Greek league and Argentine league are also very important, please add them too.
2. Add the option of loan-recalling (you can instantly recall a player from his loan).
3. Youth academies with REAL PLAYERS this time, hopefully, and scouting should scout real youngsters from various clubs around the world. Halfway through the season Mario Balotelli (Internazionale), Ignacio Camacho (Atletico Madrid), Alberto Paloschi (AC Milan) Damien Plessis (Liverpool), Emiliano Insua (Liverpool) and a few others debuted for first teams and had good performances, but because they were not in the youth academies (we had all these fake players in manager mode youth academies), we could not use them.
4. Rivalry transfers should be made available, but only for very very good offers.
5. Put more 'special moves' for free kick takers (so far I have only found Roberto Carlos and Ronaldinho to take free kicks differently from anyone else).
6. Manager mode does get boring after a bit, so it would be nice to have various (REAL) youngsters from the academy varying stats every time a new manager mode is started...or something like that.
7. Make reserves not only an option to drop your spare first team players into; make it into another subsection of Manager mode - you can switch to managing the reserve team if you want, and you can put in/take out any players you want (even youth players, for example Krisztián Németh of Liverpool). Targets should also be set for these new reserve teams.
8. This doesnt work with Fifa's fair play policy, but a dive button would be nice, with chances of winning a freekick/penalty or getting a yellow/red card. A player should also be able to go down with the dive button without a free kick awarded in either direction (play just continues).
9. Make the new team database FILE available at the end of the winter transfer window; patches don't work on my computer (and many others').
10. International competitions should also be available for a (limited, obviously) manager mode.
11. Players can hand in transfer requests if they do not get enough match time.
12. Cut-scene for the 4th official to show how much extra time is played.
13. Cut-scenes to show, in a penalty shootout, shooters and goalkeepers making their way to the goal.
14. Cut-scene with a player being stretchered off if the injury is serious.
15. It would be more realistic if some players wore gloves (like, sometimes, Nicolas Anelka).
16. Offer player-exchange deals - it is very annoying when, upon trying to sign a player, I find out that the team 'does not want to lose any more players'.
17. Home and away goalkeeper jerseys (and the 3rd kit goalkeeper jersey comes with the unlockable kits in the fanshop).
18. Trophies are presented to players (and captain lifts - and players have medals even if they lose in the final) after winning a cup.
19. When on the main menu, put a playable feature where a famous football player (eg C Ronaldo, Kaka, Messi, Torres) is one-on-one with the goalkeeper and gets to dribble and shoot repeatedly (I've seen this on an XBox before but it would be good to have it on PC mode too).
20. Have cutscenes of fans leaving stadiums if the player is losing.
21. Pick a player who will captain if you choose not to play your captain (it's annoying when the armband always goes to the right-back).
22. On Manager mode, include the option (before a game, on team selection), to choose your captain (because the armband always goes to the right-back if the captain is not playing).
23. Choose which players go in for corners (in categories, eg centrebacks - CBs - centre midfielders - CMs, etc).
24. Show players warming up on the sidelines.
25. Cut-scene with a player on red fatigue cramping - if a player gets too fatigued (within the red category), they are injured for a few weeks.
26. Right now you have on team selections, a few sections. First team, substitutes, reserves. I think youths should be added in there as well, with profiles for a few (maybe 5 or 6) youths from each club (except maybe the really really small ones). I accept that because I said this so late, it may be too late to create so many new players' faces now, but please give thought to at least a few youngsters in each team - all Fifa fans would love being given the choice to use some of the world's future stars.
27. Create a separate 'International manager' mode where you can call up players (again, there should be youths in this, and REAL youths) for various cups and friendlies. Not all of the cups have to be real, because if you used a real schedule, there might be, at some point, half a year free, and that would be very boring. Add little cups here and there, and, of course, continental trophies (Euros, Asian Cups - WITH AUSTRALIA, Copa Americas, African Nations Cup, etc) and the WORLD CUP (and its qualifiers, of course)!
28. I've noticed players like Maduro have Asian faces, and some Asians have Caucasian faces - these need to be fixed.
29. More tricks please, and easier to handle. I don't like having to press Shift-up-left or something like that. The seal dribble of Kerlon and Braaten would be awesome.
30. The International teams option, as aforementioned, is nothing without a new mode. There should also be an International Under-21 team mode, where you can manage that. Or maybe a joint mode, where you can manage the first squad of a country and call up some of the under-21 players if you want.
31. Make players slower when they get fatigued.
32. Show players panting in cut-scenes at random times after a ball goes out of play.
33. Show cut-scenes of players discussing who will take the free kick.
34. Fifa should highlight the importance of teamwork in a team. For example, Nicolas Anelka can be rated highly, but does not adapt well to Chelsea, and so doesn't read the game as well, not being in good positions for through-balls, causing team morale to drop, etc. Maybe not affecting the game so much, but causing lower morale and less fans to pay for tickets...etc.
35. 1 game suspension for a certain number (depending on the league) of yellow cards (this already happens), but *3* game suspensions for a straight red card.
36. Give an option not to play advantage, give the card (if the foul merits a card) at the next dead-ball. Too many times have I been tripped just outside the box with a second man able to score, only to be denied by the [nonexistent] referee.
37. Have more money from fans when the team is doing well - more people turn up to watch. If the team is doing badly, not only should there be less money from tickets, but also less fans in the stadium.
38. PRIZE MONEY! Currently, the only money received after winning a cup is if your sponsor gives you money for it. In real life, there's prize money, and a good amount of it.
39. TV sponsorships are very important. Manager mode currently allows 1 sponsor a season; this should be corrected. In real life, there are at least 4 sponsors, and a HUGE TV sponsor too.
40. Allow upgrade for training facilities as well as staff members; good training pitches, gymnasiums, swimming pools, etc can all contribute to better results from player training.
41. Make different celebrations for if a goal is scored after 80 minutes which puts their team in a winning position (and a different set of celebrations for if a player has drawn his team level after 80 minutes).
42. Be able to call up goalkeeper for a corner even when level, or down by any amount of goals. However, keep the fact that the opposition goalkeeper can only come up if they are one-nil down.
43. Currently, a player can move another player out of the way by running into him sideways, and the second player is pushed on the pitch without his feet moving. The first player should either, upon contact, get bumped back, or switch into another 'lane' and keep going.
44. If, in a shootout, the goalie does a trick (dancing across his goalline or waving his arms), the opposition striker should have a higher chance of missing his shot.
