Your Ideas for FIFA 09

Ive been thinking of a new game mode and here it is.

"Commentery Mode" Online play, 2 people playing against eachother, and one person commentates? i think that would make it much more enjoyable.. and a better atmosphere.

is this a good idea?

Create stadium!!! create your own boots, or choose colours on existing boots, and please plase please.......... MORE FAN ANIMATION!!!!!!!!

I have FIFA on 360. This is the firt season I have loved FIFA, usually im a PES player, but have been complately converted by FIFA 08. I think one major improvement that could be made is the referees and linesmen. The ref is far to strict and as soon as contact is made between two players, the whistle usually gets blown and its a free kick, which can be very annoying. Also it would be good to have some controversy with the occasional offside decision to be wrong. Another feature to consider would be diving, but not making it too easy or too hard to do, or this will also be annoying.Another feature would be more on the edit side, such as being able to create kits. Maybe the graphics could be improved a little with regards to weather, and pitch damage in the rain etc... One more thing. Making the heading system fairer i.e. Jermain defoe would not win a header against John Terry, but always seems to manage it, from a cross in.

just make fifa 09 a good football game. alsa game speed needs to be improved cuz fifa 08 on ps3 was really slow.

get fouled more like much more pens and freekicks,show linesman and refs and make them get offsides wrong,it would be cool to creat a stadium,unlock new boots like vapours and pick coloures,improve the shooting ,more celabrations like nanis backflip. please consider using these ideas thanks

I have Fifa 08 on ds.It pretty good without counting the graphics. I would like to see in manager mode more realistic like player growth or able to scout and transfer players to your league.Just basically get what the other consoles(PSP etc) features have.Also add some assian leagues like the J League and maybe get a asian champions league on the new fifa game

i think that the new fifa should have the option of choosing any player that is rated over 75ovrl when playing as an international team like i think that ashley young should play for england and so should david bentley. i also think that there should be a training mode on all formats because on the psp version there is no training mode so you cant do that but you can on pro evo. one more thing- you should include conference teams to make manager mode a bit harder starting right from the bottom of all the leagues and have all the latest boots as well as having some classical boots as well .

I own the ps2 version of fifa 08 and here are some few improvements you could make:
1. Try and put some skills from the xbox 360 version.
2. Please put the refree and the linesman on the game!
3. If you can, try putting 'Goal of the month' and show the goal as well.
4. MORE PLAYABLE COUNTRIES i am a nepali and when i chose nepal for my player, i searched through the international menu and it wasen't there.
5. Being able to be the manager for your country.
6. To be able to change the kit every season i am sick of playing with the same kit for three seasons.

*How can Iraq who are 2007 Champions not be in the game while you have the 3rd and the 4th divisions of England! You should delete the those leagues from England and add more national teams

*Make the refs visible.

*Add diving and shirt-pulling as it is part of the modern game...

*It would be nice to be able to manage a national team!

*We should be able to choose the commentary language, I would love to play with Spanish
commentary and there is no way I can get the game from Spain or South America!

*We should be able to save the highlights and goals on the hard drive in addition to uploading them to the servers!

*We should be able to have training drills as in previous versions like; freekicks, corners, counter attacks, free training and such...

I think that when you win a Tornament you should be able to see your team go up into the stand and collect the trophy and medals, or at least have something on the pitch, that was always disapointing not to see this.
I think that you should also be able to have the option to dive, this would make it more realistic as most players make the most of nothing!
Definately have the ref on the pitch and linesmen running the lines, this would make the game stand head and shoulders above PES which i think is just a cheap imitation.

make an option to spectate a match between two of your friends

the full asian and north american population needs to start playing as different teams except man united and barcalona online. Have lobbies for each league in the game. Have interactive leagues for the fa cup games, champions league games(probably not possible beccause of the other game) and maybe internationals. An online manager mode. Make nando torres better. Maker the game so not every shot players like adebayor, anelka, henry and drogba have goes in the back of the net. Better goalkeepers.

Can i just say that fifa 08 was just so much better than fifa 07. The gameplay and realism is fantastic but there are little niggles which annoy me and other gamers. When you pass a ball to another player, they sometimes just stand there and let the oppoition get the ball. Also when the keeper comes out the player you control stops sprinting. In the hardest 4 difficulties on the game, in manager mode, it is sometimes impossible to tackle the opposition! They just wriggle their way out of tackles even if you have about 3 players tackling them! Also, in 50-50 situations, the computer controlled player always comes out with the ball.

My suggestion is that this should all be repaired for fifa 09 and then gameplay would just be incredible. You should also be able to create your own club on the next-gen consoles. Also, choose what nets you have for your ground, be able to change your kits every season, be able to be in the european competitons in your first season e.g if your man u, you go into the champions league straight away. Also what Bryant E said about the real life managers being on the game was a great idea. Also have teams like zenit st petersburg etc. Hope you take into account what ive said.

There should be a lobby for people who play without the assists. It is annoying when I have to try to get a shot on target and every single shot is on target. There should also be lobby's to play premiership games or la liga etc. This would prevent as many barcalona fans playing against people. Unfair players should be stoned 'til death.

Forgot to add - why do all players have their shirts tucked in? Have some hanging out, half tucked in and rippling in the breeze. Have short sleeves with another long sleeved top underneath.

Here are 30 ways EA could make FIFA 09 100% quality:-
1. Realistic injuries - a player could be out for like a year (eg: triple leg break)
2. Medics/Physios - bring on stretchers if necessary or have them limping off (but not if they've hurt their arm etc.)
3. Be able to use good boots (eg: Nike Vapors/T90 Lasers/Predators etc.) on players you create and modify.
4. Unique goalkeeper gloves.
5. After game highlights on a programme like MOTD.
6. More leagues and lower divisions.
7. More realistic faces and make players have unique faces instead of ones that look exactly the same as one another. Include this in Youth Academy as well.
8. Real-life referees.
9. Definite improvement on the crowd - it looks rubbish.
10. Unique skills and styles of running - instead of all looking like robots swinging their arms forward and back.
11. Decent banners and advertising in the stadiums.
12. Update the Classic XI Team - include Maradona, Pele, Zidane, Best etc.
13. Subs actually on the bench - the players you have actually selected not random people - and get them to occasionally warm up by jogging and stretching.
14. Officials that hold up the added minutes or sub numbers.
15. Better commentary.
16. Fix gliches like when you are on Obafemi Martins (Newcastle) and the commentators say 'Geremi'.
17. Real life sponsors in Manager Mode.
18. Hire and sack members of the board and fitness coach etc. Like the transfer market you should scout for assistant coaches etc.
19. Better kit designs and sponsors when creating a team's kits.
20. Play the World Cup in tournament mode.
21. More International teams - Ghana, Togo, Korea, Ivory Coast etc.
22. Create a Stadium.
23. Make it easier to create custom formations - the process is too confusing.
24. Unique celebrations - like Obafemi Martins and Nani doing back-flips for their celebrations.
25. Have clubs other than Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal interested in signing your players when you've only just bought them.
26. Different pitch patterns.
27. Make rival matches better. They don't mean anything - all you get is a newspaper article saying you won or lost. Have fans booing each other, unique commentary. Also why aren't the 'Big 4' all rivals of each other?
28. Actually have the option of training with your players.
29. Fix gliches on players hair. Eg: in game from above Van der Sar has long hair. In menu Tevez has a messed up hair glich. Include Tevez's scar.
30. More realistic negotiating with not just players, but their agents.

make it that sometime when a player gets fould they get into a fight

you should have realistic prices on players .
and have the ref and lines men on the pitch

Fifa 08 is a great game! much better than prov evo 08!!(you have nowconverted me!) but could definitley be inproved by paying more attention to smaller details! here are some suggestions of basic things that should be icluded in fifa 09 on the ps3 and xbox 360...

- More editing options, so we can change the style/colour/sponsor of kits as they change in real life.
- Better, more realistic weather conditions and weather conditions that effect the state of the pitch
- A proper tele camera angle that looks like it does when you watch a game on sky sports.
- a custom camera angle
- improved and less predictable game play.
- more stadiums including all premier league stadiums
- Simpler, less fiddley and more effective controls with the option to control the players with the d pad on classic alternate control option.
- be able to watch and save highlights of games not just your own but other matches too
- the inclusion of all international teams
- goal nets that are more realistic and ripple more and less ridged. Goal nets and posts that look exactly like they do in each stadium in real life.
- have an option to create your own stadium with the option to choose the colour and style of goal nets, size of pitch etc (a bit like on fifa street2 on ps2)
- Presentatation of trophies when a tournament is won
- have it so you are able to score goals in a variety of different ways.. goals scored in real life are not identical!
- improved graghics and game engine.
- more appropriate commentary
- have the ability to change to the away / alternate colour of the socks and shorts of teams aswell as thier shirts (like pro evo 5 on the ps2)
Please include these suggestions, and beat pro evo hands down this year, not by default!!! keep up the good work!!!! JoeyT

Please can you sort out the celevbration thing for fifa 09 because on uefa 08 when you edit a player they get stuck with the same rubbish celebration and there's no random option so when that player scores they do the celebration over and over and it's rubbish make sure you bring back the default celebration where the game chooses at random a more wider range of celebration. Also when the players are celebrating in real life there will be the players name sung from the crowd of just a celebration chant like "ring of fire" at Liverpool, "Tom Hark" at QPR and others and "Pigbag" at Middlesborough and Others. Something like that would make it feel more like a real football match. Also have the teams walk out to their songs Like "You'll Never walk alone" for Liverpool and Celtic, "Blue is the colour" for chelsea, "Glory Glory Man utd" and songs for other clubs.

I THINK YOU SHOULD CREATE BRAND TEAMS SO YOU CAN PLAY RIVAL BRANDS FOR A TITLE OF THE BEST BRAND OF FOOTBALL FEATURING THE BRANDS I JUST MENTIONED.

I STRONGLY AGREE YOU SHOULD SCRAP THE LIMIT ON PLAYERS YOU'RE ALLOWED TO EDIT AND CREATE BECAUSE LOTS OF PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY WANT TO EDIT MORE PLAYERS SO JUST GET RID OF THE LIMIT!!!! OKAY GET RID OF IT.

My biggest complaint with Fifa 08 is the response of players to a threw-ball (triangle on PS3, Y on Xbox). When performing a threw-ball, the striker who the pass is intended to will virtually never break their run, even when it's all to clear that should they not alter their path, the defender has a much better angle of approach and will easily step in the way of the incoming pass. I suggest that this issue is addressed, making strikers more apt to reroute their path in order to beat the defender to an incoming pass.

wen u make a player and its agression is like 99 he should be always goin in 4 hard talkes and givin away free kicks even if it is the computer and always havin a go at the ref

I know I might be a bit late but there are a few months to go so I'll give my 2 cents here as well.

To me the importance lies in the gameplay. Like in AI mode teams should play more like they do. Like Liverpool and Barcelona have unbelievable ways ( not to mention the brazilian national team) of getting the ball from player to player. So different models of play for different teams.

Also a team should not perform consistentley, some games should be almost impossible to win because the opposing team is on fire and sometimes super teams should underperform.

Players in the teams should have real roles, like Gerrard is the real leader on the pitch in Liverpool, he should dominate in the game as well.

the team and player current form also should show through when you're playing online tournaments, I don't know about exibition games, could be good and could be not good.

maybe some of these ideas are for the super game of 2010? :)

One thing that FIFA 09 should definitely have is more unlockables. Including some classic players. Pele, Maradona, Zidane! You should be able to unlock classic teamsd such as Classic France with Deschamps Zidane and Barthez. Also, it should be easier to do tricks such as the back heel, and volley passes. Creating your own league should also be a feature. That way you could create your own Super league and include all the major Euro Clubs Man U vs. Real Madrid and the like.

Relistic crowds like when you losse and you get relegated in (manager mode).And when you get promoted the fans come rushing down form there seats (manager mode).

Please, please, please put in more broadcast camera angles for fifa 09 on the ps3! at the mo there are more angles on the replay camera angles than when u play the actual game itself! please make a camera angle that looks like they do on tele,that actually pan into the goal mouth, rather than than side on! this would do wonders to the game and make it less arcady!..would it be possible to maybe have the option to create your own camera angle, with hieght ,swing and zoom....so you could have total flexibility and choice!
also could something be done about the goal nets? on fifa 08 (on ps3) they are all dark grey!!! very unlike RL. this and the very limited camera angles make every match look the same, regardless what stadium it is played in!!!

Carrer Mode on Be a Pro, you pick or create a young player and then, match after match you get to be a pro.

The ability to choose not only the shirt, but also the shorts and socks. Sometimes you pick a kit that doesn't look similar to the other and when you play they look very similar and if you'r eplaying online or in manager mode youdon't get to restart the game using a different kit. Eg: you pick Barcelona home kit and Man United away kit (black) in theory they don't look very similar, but when the game starts, let's assume you don't know the colors of their shorts, both teams are playing with a dark shirt and dark shorts.

More leagues and international teams are always a good thing. You must also put in their respective cups like the Copa Libertadores, AFC Champions League etc If you cant get all the leagues, you can always add more clubs on the Rest of The World section. Be able to manage an international team on Manager Mode. Always make cup finals on neutral fields.

As an addicted player to soccer games, I have many suggestions. In fifa09 there should be a place where we can save and load our own formations like in PES where you save and load your own formations. Saving goals is a big problem, in fifa08 there are many steps to do to save your goal and sometimes it doesn't save, so it's really bad and needs to be user friendly. Now about when a player scoring a goal in fifa08, for example when player1 scores a goal he should only have control over the replay, but in fifa08 player2 can take control over player1's replay and just press the button and skip the replay, so this will ruin the joy of the goal. Now about the online/offline goals and highlights, there should be a way to save the goals and the highlights of the online/offline game after the match like in PES. I wish my suggestions were helpful.

i think fifa 09 should introduce diving and shirt pulling, also maybe crowd reactions to a miss, erm also ageing in players. id like to be able to build a stadium that would be an amazing feature and maybe stewards and linesmen. one last thing it would be awesome if like the ref got a few decisions wrong like disallowing and good goal or missing an offside, that would be awesome dudes.

just 2 things
camera angles - broadcast angle that u can zoom in really close or far away
/pan high or low and everywhere in between.
also be able to save your pre set angles to each stadium as each
stadiums camera angle is different. eg stamford bridge is closer than
wembley.
goal posts posts need to br plain white(not grayed out - even in the shade)
& nets nets should be slightly whiter & be colour changable.
you should be allowed pick what type of goal posts you want
the same as you can which ball you want. would make the stadiums
appear different.

I currently play on the X-box 360 but did own the ps2 version
I think the on-pitch game play is as good as you can get.
Hoever i think more can be done to improve the management side. For example, have more control over staff hired n sacked, training days (like ps2), european comps in the 1st season, more media and ream involvement, kit changes, and just in general a little more depth into the real management world.
I also miss the create-a-team mode that was put onto the ps2 version as i thought that was a nice little extra; also along with create-a-stadium, and other creation modes.
i also like the idea of more internation involement both during manager mode and just international tournaments at the ready under game modes.
More teams and leagues need to be placed into it, like the South American leagues and Blue Square Prem/North/South.
Its obviously hard to compliment all of these things us players want but at least you have all of the kits and correct player names unlike PES which just makes it look cheap and tacky.

I think there should be a Mexican Second division. I also think there should be Copa Libertadores. On manager mode, the last team the coach coaches, should be their nations' team. All of these things would make FIFA 09 so much bettter.

Add the J-League

...AND DEFF. THEIR SHOULD BE A TRAINING OPTION BETWEEN EACH GAME...NOT JUST GAME BY GAME!

DEFINATLEY-----------------NEED SIDELINE OFFICIALS, MANAGERS, SUBS ON BENCH, LINESMAN, AND EVEN PHOTOGRAPHERS TO MAKE THE DETAIL SO PURE AND REALISTIC.
AND, UNIQUE STAFIUMS, NOT JUST THE ESTELLA DELL WHATEVER!
CUSTOMIZABLE STADIUMS AND REAL TIME MANAGER DESICIONS WOULD MAKE IT FANTASTIC

i forgot to mention about free kicks. It seems like every player takes the free kick the same. I mean ronaldos free kick is very much different than david bechams. So there should be better physics to take a free kick.

I think the argentinian league would be good, and if not there should still be more teams than Boca and River, like San Lorenzo and Racing club. I think you should be able to edit your created players in manager mode, they just stay the same the whole way through, I mean physically. I also tought the free kick system in fifa 2003 was really good, something similar would be good. As for stadiums, when I play in the Giuseppi Meazza its either day or dusk, but Inter games are never at dusk really, its only ever saturday night or sunday. Also, the Maracana and La Bombonera would be good just to get some South american stadiums for once.

i think they should have 5 a-side comps

Fifa 08 wasnt all that there wa some still important aspects of gameplay missing,
1 There should be referees on the pitch and officials at the sidelines, this would make it realistic.
2 There should be a dynamic weather system, such as lightening water logged pitch there was none of that in fifa 08 for the 360.
3 I feel the comentaters should be more into the game, like chatting away about histories upcoming tournamounts and such things. The comentater should also be shouting the players name when theres a shot at goal from good range.
4 And when you play at night there seems to no light at all, it is too dark. Normally in real life flood lights are real bright and the pitch glows green thats what u want.
5 there should be more action on the field, like when theres a red card there should be a scuffle between 2 teams and u see the staffs from the sidelines getting involved.
6 there also should be a champions league tournamount the u can play with the actual trophy.
oh yeh the players should also be able to dive

In FIFA 09 you should be able to upgrade your created player withour going into manager mode.

we should be able to manage international teams! that would be awsome! also add a lot maore international teams onto the game.

players should have better movement, for example Messi has really good body feints while in the game he is really slow.

i think you should have an update on xbox live so because you release the game before the transfer season is over and some players still move and when it the january transfer period have an update so that you can have all the right players still in the right teams! give more scenes and a variation of commentary.get more stadiums (design 1????) as in we design it our selves kit changes also.and where we make our own team and play online to get the players better not just set them to lvl 99 but have them low levels and play more matches to get the players better and more experienced.
