Here you can add your feedback and comments regarding EA Sports UEFA Euro 2008 video game. You can also write your reviews and bug reports as well, we will list your texts here online and invite EA developers to read them.

you should have a thing like be a pro, but instead make it so you can be a ref

    cosas malas:

Great game but on ps2 Russia do not have there real kit. Also Holland do not have Van Der Sar and other players for Holland are not on the game.

  1. mike bouw:
    July 23rd, 2008 at 4:41 pm

You need to obtain the KNVB Netherlands liscense for the right kits and players. Its a huge dissapointment without these great players. Not everyone wants to be England all the time!!

the game is good but the problem is that they did not use real players for serbia and holland

2- camera !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from far looks better!!!!!!!!!!

    Now bad things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1- gamespeed is too fast and lose reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fifa 08 is better on the gamespeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was a bit disapointed with the Uefa Euro 2oo8 its too easy compare with Fifa08…..and I will doubt that how the tick system work if the game speed increse on Fifa09…
the goaline is kinda stupid..the keeper never know to catch the cross smarter..

  1. trav:
    July 2nd, 2008 at 6:02 am

massive improvement. LIke the idea of captain your club, but make it go for the life of the player. Really good job.

  1. Nicolai:
    June 30th, 2008 at 11:16 pm

Oh forgot to write it before….. It´s so bad that your keeper runs out to the edge of the penalty area, when the other team makes a “through ball”

  1. Nicolai:
    June 30th, 2008 at 11:08 pm

    Good things about the game:
-The feeling with the ball is bether.
-The situations in the penalty area, after taking a corner kick, is much more realistic
    - It´s good that the other teams’ goalkeeper doesn´t throw the ball to you in stead of kicking the ball

    Bad things about the game:
-When the other team gets a free kick it scores allmost everytime.
Why is it that so many teams aren´t licensed? - Holland for example.

  1. Andrew:
    June 30th, 2008 at 7:55 pm

Gameplay is much better than FIFA 08. The passing system is better in that you can string together beautiful combos. Fake shots, passes etc too hard.
There needs to be an addition for quick restarts on free kicks! This has always bothered me about the FIFA series. Gameplay overall is great, dont change much in 09.

  1. Alexander:
    June 30th, 2008 at 2:51 pm

I love Fifa, but i was a bit disapointed with the Uefa Euro 2oo8 it didn’t have the features that is importent.
fx. where is the Practice mode ????
And the Captain your Country mode is simply Boring.
and Why is the real Dutch Players not in the game that is bad…
but i do need to say that i think the grafic is ok but please let the Fifa 09 be better !!!

  1. Dan:
    June 29th, 2008 at 4:40 pm

I wanted to see amazing scenes at the final, with fire works and streamers, Players coming up to the camera and screaming in it when they won. I wanted it to feel like World Cup 2002, Like I was a hero, A warrior of my country with passion and exctement beyond belief. I didn’t get that. World Cup 2010 must be better. You need a forum for that actually cos I’ve got some excellent ideas.

  1. David:
    June 27th, 2008 at 12:48 am

I am disappointed that EURO 08 doesn’t let me use the Pro camera outside of Be a Pro Mode. I loved that option in FIFA 08.

  1. Phil:
    June 26th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

The game is a bit too fast, please don’t repeat for Fifa 2009!!

  1. Diggler:
    June 26th, 2008 at 10:49 am

Wales - Get them licensed … if your going to be the best football game! then you need to have a leg to stand on…with unlicensed national teams with fake names….Pro Evolution soccer will more than likely be the preferred choice! sort the licenses out and be #1

  1. JAKE:
    June 24th, 2008 at 3:47 pm

I THINK IT IS ALROUND ALOT BETTER THAN FIFA, THE PASSING SYSTEM WAS A BIG IMPROVMENT! SO WAS THE WAS THE PLAYERS MOVE WITH THE BALL!

I would like to see my country in the next version of FIFA,that is GHANA.GHANA qualified for last world cup and currently in the 20 best national football team in the world ranked by FIFA but i still dont see Ghana.Sometimes i feel like the game is not complete….

very good game..lyk d graphics, texture and all dat..gamespeed is good, should be lyk dat only..nice player models, good manager models, captain ur country mode is hellota fun..,nice manual passing nd crossing systems..teams lyk netherlands and wales should be licensed..nyc weather condituns.ofcourse goalkeepers should be improved.should stick to d gamespeed and manual passing in fifa 09..

  1. Steve:
    June 23rd, 2008 at 6:14 pm

I really liked the Captain Your Country mode. It was very original. My only problem with it was that sometimes points were not registered, such as off stealing throw-ins.
I didn’t like the difficulty settings, though. On semi-pro, I could drop seven or eight easily, but on pro I coudn’t even score. There was no setting that seemed right.
Also I would have liked creating and editing players, outside of the CYC mode and experience points. I know it’s not realistice, but it gives customizibility to the game.

  1. rob:
    June 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 pm

love the kick stick!!! good game overall but whers the licenced holland and russia kits? another thing ive found very annoying is in the euro 2008 mode, you dont get to see the other results on the quarter and semi finals and you dont get to see who scored the goals in the other matches like on the fifa world cup 2006 game

  1. Marco:

    June 21st, 2008 at 10:17 pm

EURO 2008 was definately an improvement on Fifa 08 as far as graphics and gameplay are concerned. The new Be A Pro/Captain Your Country ratings work considerably better than on Fifa 08. I think the idea being proposed on here about a Captain your Club mode would be absolutely immense. The new through-balls are FAR better than those of Fifa 08 and should be kept as opposed to those of Fifa. Keep the speed of the game in Euro 2008. Requires build up, can play either nice pure football passing game or bomb up with fast pace.

Please oh please, change the keeper rushing out system. The keeper seems to semi-set himself making him waddle out as opposed to sprint often causing in ridiculous lob shots and the like. Another edition to keepers may also be a punch button as opposed to the keeper just flapping at the ball randomly and only keepers with the trait punching.

Seasonal weather effects would be great. Sunny, nice conditions in summer, and in countries like Spain, and poor weather within the winter, especially English stadiums. (All round rain for Scottish league.)

Imrpovements, as far as depth is concerned the Manager Mode needs drastic changes. Fatigue is utterly ridiculous. The levels of it that is. Keep fatigue in by all means just tweak it to become more realistic, please. Secondly, the transfer system is poor in my opinion, which I believe is probably shared by the majority in here. Changing it so there are no limits upon how much can be offered would be a great start at the least. And lastly for the Manager Mode, a reserve/youth or both squads available for production of the younger/fringe players so they dont just rot in the R part of the squad.

Thanks for reading, hope my contribution is appreciated.

  1. Mitch:
    June 21st, 2008 at 3:03 am

Trick system is rubbish, bring some designated buttons for basic tricks such as stepovers.
Captain your country ratings are abismal, e.g. if you cross in a ball you will decrease in score however when you cross successful in that your team does get the ball(and not score) you don’t go up, kinda makes me think why should i cross.
Computer AI only ever scores with headers, also due to defensive AI being poor.
Through balls are too hit and miss and pass detection is pretty weak in that long balls never go to the player u want half the time.
Goalies save 9/10 unsaveable shots whilst all you have to do to score is get one and one and lightly tap shoot to score.

I like the speed and real player names

the games awesome except the glitches. and once again the unfair overalls like arshavin from russia is at least 83 not 78 but nontheless this is a must have game.

Quite a lot of stutter. Especially in replays. I regret buying it. Don’t know if you’re supposed to get used to that on PS and XBox, but coming from pc games, I never have it.

  1. Andy smith:
    June 19th, 2008 at 1:44 am

I really like the euro game. The game is slow and more tactical, you can take players on, one on one
and actually get passed them where as on fifa 08 if the player wants the ball it will take it no matter wha lol

Only problems really are the glitches, invisible men and flickery screen ect. Please do not release fifa 09 if these things are not perfect.

  1. nino:

    its a nice game

  1. John:
    June 18th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

I really don’t like that the team of The Netherlands is made up. I bought euro 2008 to play with my favorite country and i just get a made up team in orange shirts and even countries that weren’t qualified have the real players in it. The Netherlands is a pretty big football country. So please fix this in the next fifa 09 and 2010 world cup.

  1. Jay Man:
    June 12th, 2008 at 1:22 pm

i am a huge pes fan… well was until pro evo 6 on 360 which was awful and even worse with pes 2008. but i gota say euro 2008 is a top game. few improvements tho until the ea football games are classics like pes 4 and 5 on ps2 :) :-
    - game play needs to be quicker!
-shooting is too weak and keeper saves practically 9/10 shots from outside the box (even with lampard or ronaldo shooting lol)
-the passing has improved on euro 2008 but still needs tweeking to be more accurate!
    - the graphics? well cant complain, on hd they are quality!something pes missed!
-get rid of finesse! dont like it!! curl should be put on with direction after you shoot like pes. much more good goals were scored that way!

Thats all, hope fifa 09 improves these things!

  1. Anonymous:
    June 12th, 2008 at 1:11 pm

I think the trick stick on fifa 08 is ok but needs much improving, i think there should be set tricks that all players can do in certain situations that work at least 80% of the time on the oposition, instead of what we have now which is just a random flick or step over which a lot of the time sees you get tackled. So this area needs updating to make it easier to do successful tricks. Also attacking runs could do with tweaking, for example when you press button which sets other players on an attacking run, most dont really run into genuine space, they just seem to run forward as fast as they can which then leads to the through ball being intercepted easily or a chipped pass being to powerful and going straight to the keeper. So maybe if players try harder to avoid beeing near the opposition this would make attacks more fluent and realistic.

  1. props2 (tomi g):
    June 11th, 2008 at 7:11 pm

Also please could you make each team at least have a goalkeeper kit, or like a deafult blank one made by the companies that the rest of the kit is made by.
    Thanks,
    props2

the transition between animations is not smooth… the players almost appear to jump in and out of animations

  1. dezzy:
    June 9th, 2008 at 11:55 am

There still isn’t a camera angle (on ps3 version) that looks like they do on tv. for example, all tv and broadcast camera angles look a bit flat because they are side on. the cam angle you watch from on tele ( and on ps2 version of euro and fifa08) pans into penalty areas ,not follow action side on. Also would it be possible in future to be able to change the height and zoom like you could on ps2. It would be even better if you could make up and customise your own camera angles that allow you to change absolutly every thing!

  1. Julian:

I’d just like to say that its stupid that EA don’t put the real players and jersey for Holland. Like they have a good chance of winning! What happens if they win? EA will sorta dumb the winners are’nt even in the game at that point!! I thought since the 2006 world cup had the real players and jersey for Holland Euro 2008 would’nt be like Euro 2004 with a # for a name. I was wrong instead EA put in guys like de Noteboom…. like ya some people from Holland have “de” or “van” then another name but we don’t have names like “Noteboom”. Anyways the gameplay is still very good but i’m very dissapointed.

  1. EA/Konami:
    June 8th, 2008 at 7:35 pm

MAKE Free CONTROL of the BALL

The players Run automatic after the ball !! it is SO Bad !!! I feel that I dont have FULL control of FIFA and I will have control of the players !!

We should Control them and go and stop where we WANT!!!

I think that fifa 09 should have more animation on the players when they don’t have the ball, I also think that they should have more rain or snow depending on where you’re playing at.

  1. Jesus:
    June 3rd, 2008 at 8:28 am

    EA is the best!

Euro 08 is a very good game witch good animations

  1. Spence7777:
    June 2nd, 2008 at 4:49 pm

i was also disappointed to find that when an injured player got up off the floor they played perfectly!! where’s the logic in that?

  1. Spence7777:
    June 2nd, 2008 at 4:37 pm

I don’t think you can called it an officially licenced game when all the teams aren’t fully licenced … im looking at Wales and Holland here. plus, at least make the goalkeeper kits for all the teams that actually qualified! apart from these things it was a very good game and fun to play, but its disappointing when you make it to the final against a team of nobodies

  1. Alex:
    June 1st, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Why are many players in the game have not there names. Tillexample: Vidic, his name is Vidoic and he doesn’t look like he does on fifa 08. I’m talking about xbox 360.

  1. Meraj:
    June 1st, 2008 at 8:16 pm

    More licensed stadiums needed!!
I think in 360 version is achievable so do it it is possible
Raining weather is needed in 09 even snow weather
In course of ucl make it realistic consider ucl as a part of fifa 09 insist of producing
    UCL version

  1. Jesus:
    June 1st, 2008 at 5:01 pm

    More Players Animations NEEDED !!!

Players Should do things when they NOT have a ball !!

Its So urealistic when the players not have ball and they staying and watching!
players witch ball should move more !

I have seen Secret Fifa 09 PICTURES of Rooney and RonaldinhO AND OMG!! ITSS SOOO REALISTIC !!!

The picture is in game magazine that coming out 5.juni :D

  1. Marc Brown:

When I see the name official I really expect to see everything on a game. From official kits.. which means all the teams including the goalkeeper as well.. Official teams including Holland.. Match officials. Including the linesman… And subs on the bench with the managers.. More camera angles while playing…
On the whole I ‘m not to sure that EA Sports are getting it right with a lot of there footie games. They need to go back to basics with there games. Hire more footie fans.. Not computer nerds that know nothing about the game. Football is about winning and rivalry. And it needs to be brought into our front rooms…

  1. Jonathan Curry:
    May 31st, 2008 at 12:17 am

I am a FIFA loyal and own almost every single FIFA game to come out…so I like FIFA. I am very impressed with the Euro game but it lacks a few things:
    1. Better Player Customization-Needs to have many MANY more options. The hairstyles suck. And get rid of the ridiculous mullet, nobody wears that anymore.
    2. Players movement is too tight and unresponsive but mainly the dribbling.
    3. Make the best in the game have more personality: Fernando Torres needs to be outrunning defenders on longs balls, Cristiano Ronaldo needs to be making players look stupid, John Terry needs to enforce and knock attackers to the ground.
4.Too Routine- after a while it feels like the same game over and over and OVER. In the Champions League game from last year we had something to play for. More of those card packs that I went crazy to buy. Even when I wanted to stop playing I still did to get packs of cards and trade online…that was great
    5. Holland……need I say more?
    6. Great addition of weather effects.
7.Stadiums need to be louder and need to be heard when things are going well and when I let up a goal and such.
    8. Players are too stocky. Most of the players are huge and a lot larger than real life. Throw the game through a weight watchers program.
    9. Much improved passing-although I still find myself saying “Thats not who I wanted!!!”
    10. Give the game more character and more animation like PES. I hate to say it, I love FIFA but PES has is really getting their s**t together and they are great at making the game very enjoyable. If they get more and more licenses and get online play down….look out.
    11. Overall well done but IMPROVEMENTS ARE NEEDED!

the only problem is when the cpu has the ball and you cant get the ball off them because they pass it as soon as you get near them

  1. Jim Hatzu:
    May 30th, 2008 at 8:17 am

Good game. Only one problem. When the cpu has the ball they do a stupid spinny ball shielding move when you try and get the ball off them and quickly pass to another player which spins whenever you get close to them. It is virtually impossible to get the ball when the cpu constantly does this espessially in pro level or abouve. We need more controll of our players so we can somehow put pressure on the opponents and take the ball in challenges. Using safe takle your player just walks around the cpu oppenent doing nothing and if u try a slide takle they spin at the right moment causing your takle to be from behind resulting in a free kick.

Great game, better than FIFA 08, still similar gameplay, but overall a fun and enjoyable game. Great game modes, CYC etc. Still i thinkk that the whole FIFA series needs another overhaul as the gameplay needs to be more enjoyable. Why do pepole watch football, what is the objective of football, what do you see highlights on on TV: GOALS. Scoring goals on FIFA needs to be perfect and needs to simulate real life eg. dipping volleys, rising drives from 30 yards, far post curlers (Henry) etc.

I wanted to commend you for your game, but it still fails, for example, it is too easy to take the ball to the opponent, we need that arbitration is improving, it nya not enough fault, are dribles too complex to implement, it lacks animations on the edge of the (players who train) in a match no cut scene + (coach) free kick is also a repeat, we must also add simulations of misconduct or drawings of jersey, we must leave open the possibility the player to save the replay on the hard drive. and finally able to use the camera as xbox vision on pes. and improved faces, which still means, and add a training mode solo or multi, with true enjoyment of football, and also add special event at major competions, like an animal crossing the field, or a man or woman who crosses the field, or a smoke behind the goals for 20 seconds to add realism.
and of course add the substitute visible during the match on the bench as a nba live.

Really cool game, i like so much, but to defend for me is to hard, im trying to be better, but i like the atack system, really feels so good to make a dribble, nice works for EA.

    I’m a Pes fan, but I love Euro 2008.

The only thing that bugs me is the fact that I can’t change my bench.
I want specific players as my subs, but somehow the game keeps putting in different players!

    Thanks a lot EA!

    Hi dear EA-guys,

I’ve been a PES fan for many years, before I played primarily FIFA on PC and since FIFA 08 I’m also watching your soccer game more closely, again. First I want to mention what I don’t like about UEFA 2008 (comparing only XBOX 360 versions)

    - “Speed”: The whole game is too slow in my opinion. But I’m not sure whether it’s the speed in general or the way that the whole gameplay still feels (as if in FIFA 08).

    - “Responsiveness”: The players still react to slow to joypad actions which means if I play Fifa it always feels as if the players had “chewing gum on their shoes” when I want to turn running direction for example.

    - “Power”: Shooting in FIFA 08 and EURO 2008 feels kind of “weak”, especially in comparison to PES 2008, which gives much more “action feeling” in my opinion. PES 2008 is also far from perfect, but that’s a different story. Anyway - if you shoot from around 15m in PES 2008 it’s much more of a “wham” feeling than in UEFA. If I do this in UEFA it always feels “limp” in comparison.

    - “Player graphics”: The graphics are nice, but in my opinion the players mostly have a really weird look on their face which kind of reminds me of zombie games:) They don’t feel human enough.

    - “Commentary”: The commentary is also too “limp” in my opinion. I can have great goal scenes in UEFA but the commentator mostly talks as if nothing important would happen on the field. Too little “action” here, also.

What I like about FIFA and UEFA are the game play modes and the online mode. From this perspective, your games are on a very high level. But the gameplay and “soccer experience” itself still needs a lot of improvement in my opinion. I’m eager to see what FIFA 09 will be like, hope to get a much more “action filled” game this year!

  1. Who:
    May 27th, 2008 at 6:13 pm

    Being a PES fan for years, Ive got to say that this game is a great achievement of EA.. But it still fails in some areas;
    - Goalkeepers are too good.. It has always been the case with FIFA series for some reason. When one on one with the keeper you feel like he is the boss and you wonder which fantastic save he is going to pull no matter how accurate your shot is.
    - The shooting mechanism.. most shots go straight to the areas where keepers could effortlessly reach. When you have a good position, space and time you have to be able to shoot more accurately..
    - D-PAD.. THIS IS THE FEATURE that needs to be added to FIFA 09. The analog control seems to be ok but I dont feel I have full control on a player’s dribbling nor shooting. If the new game gives us the opportunity with the DPAD, then the game would do itself justice..

    thanks

i think the speed of gameplay is bette but i don;t ike doing your own celebations if you score from distance you dont see the ball go in because focuses o your player t is much bette wen the clebrations are cut scene

i realy like euro 08 speed, but jst a litlle (really little) slower would be perfect for the next fifa.
Dribbles come easier that’s good. but :
-Hard to score from 20m or more (GK are really good)
-But Gk are too slow on second ball.
-The net are to ahrd… i enjoy the move of the nets on pes, get inspired !
Physik of the ball is better but i think it can be improve yet.
    Thx

Make the pitch little bit longer, and make the players slower, but the animations of players should be realistic,!!!

Euro 08 is like old fast unrealistic fifa is back on ps3 gameplay! I dont like it, and its like PES to !*

the games ‘ok’,c.ronaldo should be better and more realistic, I dont know y i bought this though as you can create tournaments in fifa 08, wheres the holland team? please make fifa 09 faster, more realistic, more skill involved, better tricks better free kicks and havea real trianing mode and a season mode where u go one player for the whole season. in next euro as well make it so u can go one player for the whole tournament but not be captain.(c.ronaldo #1)

  1. scotty:
    May 22nd, 2008 at 12:09 pm

Bought this game 3 days ago and in my honest opinion its a pile of trash! The game play has reverted to the old series of Fifa’s where you win 10 nil everytime. Fifa ‘08 is a masterclass game on they got the level of realism and playability spot on, especially when you play online often only winning 1 nil or 2-1 with the games very tight.
I can think of no pros to this version of the game but here is my list of cons:

Annoying goal celebration feature (its fun for the 1st few games but no option to turn it off).
Tackling is impossible and completely different from fifa’08, the players slow down when they make the tackle.
    Gameplay is slower.
Through balls are way to easy now and its easy to get 10-0 score lines
You can no longer move the goal keeper the entire length of the goal line to save penalties.
Freekicks and corners are a joke its pure lottery and no skill involved(the same of fifa’08 but slightly less so).
There are glitches within this game (Have played over 500hrs of fifa’08 and never encountered a single glitch)

Fifa 08 its for professionel and is the best football game right now on the earth!

This Game is by far the best love the idea of captain your country which i can’t enough of, But the only thing i think should improve is more commentators as the same ones get a bit boring to listen too, Then i think the computer A I is too precise passing long balls and through balls as it seems it goes straight to there feet to much to often as where as in real life players seem to miss control the ball and then the opposition takes advantage of it which i think would make it more realistic.

I am impressed with the gameplay in euro 2008, and i think it it much better then fifa08, because it is more realistic. you get to see the trainer, more reactions from the players, and the dribbling is much much better then in fifa08!, because you can now use your skills as and adventage, and not look stupid when the computer just stands still and takes the ball, like in fifa08. The celebration-mode is fantastic, but there should be even more celebrations. The grafic is better then in fifa08, so keep up the good work end make fifa09 the best game!

  1. Jesus:

DO NOT MAKE FIFA 09 LIKE EURO 2009 !!

In fifa 08 it is hard to score a goal, like in real match!
But in Euro 2008 its easy, and you can score 10 goals and more that is sooo Unrealistic !

  1. Dean:
    May 19th, 2008 at 5:24 pm

    * Online Be a Pro - (I felt robbed of my money when it was not in euro 08)
    * Better camera angles (similar to Pro Evo) or custom camera angles
    * Improved free kicks and have free kick training, none in euro 08!
    * CPU AI needs to be improved so when CPU player has the ball they act similar to real life players such as if the AI is C.Ronaldo he does tricks and other similar characteristics that he would normally do in real life matches.
    * Gameplay and speed was very good in euro 08 better than Fifa 08 so keep it in Fifa 09.
    * Include referee and linesmen and have realistic subs with 4th official holding player numbers as they come off/on.
    * Injuries need to become better in that having other players reacting to the foul telling the ref to card or sent off the other player. Also see the player receive treatment and have touch line update commentary.
    * As for commentary have more banter and for god sake no John Motson EVER, I know he’s not in the recent games but still I don’t want him in any future ones.
    * Crowd atmosphere needs improving such as chants, cheering and booing.I your at a live match.

Include all of these points and you have the best football game of all time.

Hello, sorry for my terrible english, I am french ;o). Your game fifa08 is incredible and so is the uefa 2008 but :
Be careful with the spped of the game and some players. Henri is not as quick as he is in the game, same thing for Cisse and in general for each famous player. Defensors must react more quickly, they are not so slow in their reactions in reality.
The keeper : please implement the possibility to really control him (L1 + triangle for example) and not only making him out of the goal while pushing triangle button. Please implement an intelligent keeper, which means a keeper that take the ball when it arrives slowly on the ground, and a keeper which calculates the trajectory of a center in order to go out in an intelligent way.

    Thnal you in advance,

    Bruno

Fifa 08 is the best game that been ever made of EA.. the players move slow in fifa 08 and the make players play togheter like a team !!!

    I Forgot another

Speed of FIFA 08 spot on Graphics spot on

1 Include the ability to adjust speed for yourself then UEFA fans can play their speed and FIFA 08 fans can play there speed

2 i read in here to make like PES that is a big NO NO that why FIFA is FIFA

    3 Team Edit / Creation

4 weather effects that affect the gameplay wind snow heavy rain

5 subs warming up, refs, linesman

6 Real time lighting time of day you play detimines the type of match setup night/day

    7 Downloadable Stadiums and content

8 unlockable content make it available from the start, unless conected to the player points so more you play more points more you unlock

9 make it impossible to run the whole pitch and score as in UEFA

10 Keep the ai defence as hard as in FIF 08

    11 improve reponse times

12 more options on free kicks like choose how many men in the wall , make the wall moveable , choose to have men on the line,

13 set pieces user set options

14 More leagues and stadiums (loads of room on the Blu-Ray)

15 Crowds to wear team colours

16 injured players to go off tothe side lines and wait to come back on

17 more options for create a tournament not everybody plays the manager mode

18 i would like a global cup competition to ramdom all the league teams in the game and play 2 leg knockout like the FA cup but against all the teams

19 Graphics are excellent on FIFA 08 keep that style not the UEFA graphics which are cartoony and arcadey

20 improve on the brilliant FIFA 08 sim and keep FIFA 09 a sim make the player pass the ball and build up the play as in real football no 6-0 wins against Germany or Argentina

21 Leagues and Comps not realistic for Bolton or Colchester etc to win the premiership make it realistic

make a ea, official forum for french gamers please

and attention for the price of your game in france country the price of euro 2008 is 70 euros then if french buy the game in engalnd or usa we win money so the french people not millionary then the good price dor euro 2008 was for example 40 euros more gamers haven’t buy euro 2008 in france country because the game is too expensive

    Hi all!
Gameplay and game speed greatly improved; but goalkeepers AI, ball physics and free kicks have to be reworked.
Visually a great game, though menus suck in my opinion, they are way too slow and not intuitive. Team selection has to be done in 1 page like on your rival’s game!
Referee MUST be on the pitch, and saving replays should be much more simple.
Overall a great game, the price of 70euros is a shame though.
And by the way … what’s the problem with Holland players ??!
Good work guys, Fifa 2009 will be mine at 99% if you head on that way ;)

Ps: Sorry for my english …

Personal I have not really love at all should review the speed of the game and especially physics strikes ball which for me is not at all realistic and also because the players when they say courts on really not true football player on their how to run and tackles who also serve not a little too square to define the game and not enough fluiditer movements in the rest nothing if not a repeat

    Good morning,

Level GAMPLAY, I prefer EURO 2008 to FIFA, but it is only one thing which I prefer because for the rest, have can say that the euro is, definitely on, made that underneath it is the euro, there is not championship, it is logical and besides, good point to have topped up a complete mode with eliminatory, friendly match, one truth campaign! because before in this type of game (World Cup 2002) there was that competition, and it is for it that I have never bought this type of game, and if I bought the euro it is precisely parcequ’ he offers a mode of complete game, because all that is final stage, have can make it in every fifa…

Level style of drawing, I find the euro and a bit similar fifa, I do not arrive too much has know which of prefers level style of drawing, as for the public, it now became a habit, to fifa, it do not know how to make a good public! the public of fifa95 has today almost the same is but I grant you that it is not the most important…

Level option of game, therefore complete mode nothing has say, furthermore with the mode of game online euro which I think made well and that it is a good idea, on the contrary, and it is the big problem of game, it is the absence of 2 vs 2 and 5 vs 5! her has revolutioné the fifa 08, and it is not in the euro there? I even heard that he will not be in fifa09 however it is definitely a thing which once again made revolutionize game! which damage…

For the rest, menus, comments, not too much change, it is made well, not big thing has say…

To finish, it is therefore needed 2 vs 2 and 5 vs 5, and it ets minimum…

    I forgot some things:
-Please include a team-edit mode, where you also can change kits and names of the team. This is missing and I very much like to make my own sort-of fantasy-league.
-make the radar somewhat more visible. In cetrain situations it greys -out and then it’s hard to read.
-Also a camera-position from more zoomed-out from the default-position. That way you can plan the moves ahead better.

i don’t understand your game politic why not make poll before the out of a new version for see want options want gamers.

the network code in euro 2008 is better than fifa 08 and 2 vs 2 or 5 vs 5 online option will be great if you decide to make a patch for add this option in euro 2008 and you can make a patch THEN MAKE A PATCH FOR ADD 2 VS 2, 5VS 5, you can already make the 10 vs 10 option in online

and please if you add this option don’t forget to put a password on the 2 vs 2 and 5 vs 5 for the leagues thank you.

EA please listen your customers don’t sleeping.

yes do change the speed on fifa
goal keeper saves nearly every shot you take at him from 15 20 yards out
the shooting needs to inprove more powerfull shots
at the moment you sometimes full asleap with the shooting and the gameplay
make it more like pro evo its no good having great grahpics you need to sort the gameplay out to be honest the best fifa game was france 98

EA please don’t change the speed of Fifa 08, UEFA is too speed and personnally I don’t like it. So keep Fifa’s speed.
Improve goalkeepers AI, sometimes keepers don’t react as good as we want.
Please EA improve Players’s faces, in some cases they look like evils; It will be funny and more immersive if we can see referees (not only on cut scenes when there is a fault); thats can be great if we can see team’s bench enjoying and reacting after a goal or a missed shot the same time as players on the field ,or player training before a substitution like it is in some basket ball games. thank you all for your job in fifa 08

    Hi

I like the route you taking in FIFA 08 and needs weather and options in free kicks to add men move the wall, set pieces same goes for corners

I for one liked the difficulty in the AI defence and found UEFA way to easy to run up the pitch with one man and score

We need to see refs and linesmen, injured players going to the side lines, better graphics than UEFA arcady is not the way to go

Downloadable content such as grounds etc

But mainly make it a sim as FIFA 08 started or you will lose a lot of FIFA fans that love FIFA 08 as a starting block

    May 11th, 2008 at 11:49 am

    1. Goalkeepers

Way too good. somehow the game seems programmed to always give the goalkeeper a possibility to save a shot, even in situations where a real goalkeeper wouldn’t be able to. Reaction times need to be longer in certain situations, and the distance they can jump from a standstill needs a more conservative realistic setting. It’s not realistic standing still in the middle of the goal and with a single leap quickly saving a ball that would’ve hit the post. Also the goalkeepers suffer from poor physics adding to this problem. Right after taking a shot, you can sometimes see the goalkeepers being “pulled” in the direction of the shot, without actually having to use their legs to move. This gives them unfair advantage and adds slightly to the lenght they can move to save shots.
If making the goalkeepers realistic suddenly makes it too easy to score, change the shooting to make precise aiming more difficult (evenly across the shot acc stat range).

    2. Defending

The games biggest flaw. On a 8 minute per half match, usually there is 1 or 2 fouls in the entire game (if I don’t try to intentionally foul with a slide tackle).
The players are just too gentle. Right now the only If I am running alongside or towards an opponent, and press and hold A (”pressing”), I want the player to actually do things. Use his body to disrupt, try and get a leg in when he can, use his arms etc. Single button presses could be used, with appropriate timing, to make your player take a stab at the ballholder. If you are too far behind or in a bad position, you are more likely to clip the foot of the opponent than the ball.
To put it another way, if I am holding the A button for dear life, I’d rather have my player cause a freekick than to not do anything. This would finally put an end to the unrealistic long dribble runs of the AI, where you are constantly trailing them, but since they can always turn in a way that favors them keeping possession, and your player not doing anything even though you are holding the A button and close to him, you can’t get the ball.

    3. Shooting.

This would probably also need some redesigning. The main problem for me is the pace of the shots (which coupled with the goalkeepers being so good makes the goalkeepers able to save just about anything).
Mainly, The shots just feel too weak. They can’t be considered “unrealistic” (since it isn’t unrealistic to shot a weak shot in real life, as opposed to shooting a shot that is harder than humanly possible).
The shooting system should be redesigned and more carefully modelled after real life examples. Currently, despite the aspirations of having a realistic physics system and such, it’s not possible to do certain things. The system should be redesigned to allow recreation (accurate power (flight time), trajectory) of for example Seedorf’s famous longshot, Adriano’s “bomba” (youtube it), and other such examples.
Also I always have the feeling that the shooting system favours topspin style shots more, with makes it hard to do those 30m shots that just keep climbing and climbing until they hit the roof of the net. This was more evident in FIFA08 I think, since you would more often than not lob the goalkeeper from long distance shots (controll shots looking like topspinning freekicks a la Ronaldinho), rather than just powering it past him. It just looks odd when you shot most of the time, like the ball has got almost no air in it, and it’s just pushed by the boot of the the shooting player, rather than forcefully bouncing off his shoe. Again, if this would make it unrealisticly easy to score or such, then change the way that you need to time shots to restrict too many clean hits when shooting.

Also, the animations when shooting need some refining. The player shooting often puts his supporting leg way too far from the ball, which in real life would seriously lessen the power you could get for the shot. This weird stance also causes some unnatural movement in the supporting leg and hip at the point of shooting, since the player needs to reach “down” with his body in order for the shooting foot to hit the ball, which is located so far away from his supporting leg. The result is just so uncomposed and awkward-looking. When shooting you would aim to put the supporting foot fairly or very close to the ball, to improve the power in the hip-movements when doing the pendulum movement for a shot.

    4. Headers

The positioning system is much improved over FIFA08 (where it was nonexistant). But although you now can move your player and position him for the header, I still miss the freedom of PES5 for example. Sometimes my players seems to be in a position to head the ball, but for some reason he doesn’t jump ot such, and an opponent comes in behind him and heads a goal completely clear. I would like more playable dynamics for duels, so that it doesn’t feel like the AI at any point can just resort to heading in a goal or two just because it wants to.

    5. Super Cancel

This one is essential, and the fact that it isn’t yet implemented is staggering. RT + LT should cancel any runs chasing a pass and such, and give complete control to the gamer. It just looks ridiculous when you see a pass being intercepted from a mile away, but your player just runs to the spot he thinks it is going to reach anyways.

    6. Corners.

WHY does the cursor automatically change right after the corner is taken? If I have my cursor set to manual (no auto changing), why does that not apply to corners? And when the auto changing sometiems changes away from the player that is in perfect position to head away the corner, what’s the point? It’s invasive and completely clunky and wrong.

Gameplay is great, but you should add “be a pro” to any mode. And not necessary “be a pro”, just let us choose to play as a fixed player, there’s no need for extra whistle and bells. I would have loved to be able to play regular tournaments with a fixed player.

hi, very impressed with fifa 08 and euro 08, prefer them to pro evo and always liked evo more in other versions.

    couple of things

dropping stats are a pain in the ass, ive never seen them increase

fix the bugs, like when a oppoonents player goes missing

camera view, i find the one that is default the best one but it’s just set a little too far away, would be nice to have a option to zoom a little to suit the game more

Good game however some issues need to be addressed. On Professional Difficulty I can rip most teams apart but on World Class they have 6 defenders at the back and you cannot keep the ball for long enough to test them. Please improve the reaction times and player movement, its still not good enough. For FIFA 09 include a DECENT player edit feature (so we can edit the appearances of the stars as well as ourselves) and include the EASPORTSWORLD photo import facility so we can put ourselves and our friends into the game…..

    Great game…

    Things that can be improved…

When doing a manual celebration…the running part feels good but when you press random buttons to initiate an animation it takes away from the concept. one we should be able to control everything

The be a pro mode is decent but I still prefer the old one maybe both can be implemented for single/multiplayer

Make leeds united have realistic stats and players have the real faces as well as all players names being in commentary & elland road stadium (it doesnt matter about the other lower league teams) :D

    players wearing gloves

game speed should be in between this and fifa 08

  1. anthony:
    May 9th, 2008 at 10:00 am

please sort out the net animations. when you score it goes weird and glitchy. seeing the ball hit the back of the net with aplom IS football.

also could you guys do a slowmo replay of the celebration when you score. its very much like how tv present goals. ie replay -> another replay angle -> slow mo celebration

    thanks

everything else is perfect imo. dont touch it.

    EA,
I’m verry disapointed with this game, i enjoy the gameplay but i’m shocked at the lack of licensing of kits and for the teams that are liscensed most have old kits. This is supposed to be the OFFICIAL game of Euro 2008. It seems a really lazy effort and i’d of expected a patch to come out by now with new kits etc. but nothing so far(and i doubt there will be one).
And another thing in edit mode you can’t fit more than 11 letters into a players surname which is ridiculous as you’re editors have fitted the likes of Ibrahimovich’s name in fine.
It’s little things like this that would make me reluctant to buy FIFA games again, because you can’t seem to bother with these small things!
And the edit mode is appaling

Very nice game, I have played the demo. It’s quite hard now.

My opinion: Put the Netherlands back in the game, including their real names. That’s a way to score more Dutch gamers. Also Dutch game journalists think it sucks that the Netherlands is missing.

    Celebrations are very nice!! :D

  1. Byron Hinson:
    May 8th, 2008 at 9:24 pm

Excellent especially on the PS3 - but the Xbox 360 version seems very buggy, perhaps working on the multiplayer bugs would be the first thing to get right - other than that it is a great title and probably the best football game made so far.

The bug i’m talking about: Sometimes when the ball goes out for a throw in or a free kick no one goes to take it on either side, this then means one player or the other has to quit the game and then get a Did Not Finish mark against them even though it wasn’t their fault.

  1. Martin:
    May 8th, 2008 at 5:50 pm

It’s beautiful and ugly within moments. The gameplay is brilliant but the cheating AI needs serious attention. The way the lower ranked teams are able to keep the ball with a slow dribble, turning 360 degrees everytime you go near is the most frustrating aspect of any football title for years!
I really enjoy playing it but hope and pray the above is addressed prior to FIFA09.

  1. Han:
    May 8th, 2008 at 5:40 pm

It is a very good game, even in the eyes of this PES-fan. Still I have some points which would improve the game even more:

I think the defence needs to improve. It is much harder to defend than to attack and because of that some balancing should be done. It is virtual impossible to defend well when 1 on 1 with an attacker. He always slips past you. Looks like the response from the defenders is not optimal. In PES this is much more fluent. Also the AI from the fellow-defenders should improve as they seem to defend chaoticly when you defend with assisting player. The keeper is also slow with running ( well, running :D ) out of the goal, using the triangle.
Another small thing is the nets of the goal. They animate somewhat static after scoring.

  1. Roland:
    May 8th, 2008 at 2:44 pm

It’s a good game but it wil a fantastic game if all the teams had REAL names. Not fake names like Netherlands or some other players from other nations. Also would it be great to have more leagues in FIFA09, like more 2nd divions or new leagues. And better shirts, not like Ajax in FIFA08 with a white logo on its shirt

  1. Steven:
    May 7th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

There’s some graphical issues which should have been ironed out, like flickering, and audio issue before some matches, with the sound of the crowd bellowing through the speakers louder than the rest of the audio in the game. It makes me jump every time.

In AI matches I’ve had incidences of my team staying just outside the box and not moving despite a goal kick being given to the opposition. I’ve had a few example of other bizarre AI behaviour, but only in the UEFA 08 mode.

Also, there doesn’t seem much differentiation between some teams when they’re playing against you, many seem to play the same game of football. Lithuania and San Marino put up just as much of a battle, running rings round me at some points, like France, Spain or Italy do on the higher levels.

I enjoyed being able to slide and tackle in FIFA 08 as much as I wanted, but sometimes there seems like there’s a delay or it doesn’t let you slide in at certain points.

Turning could still be made quicker.

Corners are worse than FIFA, so far despite putting many hours into it I’ve probably scored from one or two. It seems unbalanced, ridiculously so in favour of the defence.

Please punish people for quitting. So far my record online is played 22, won 11 lost 11. I’ve actually played more like 50 matches, but people just quit most of the time when I’m winning.

It’s a great game of football on the whole, the best yet I’d say. I like interactive celebrations

Captain your Country mode! Please keep that for FIFA 09. Seeing your name and hearing your voice is brilliant.

Battle of the Nations doesn’t really work for me, because the nature of gamers and competition means that you constantly get French gits quitting on you whenever you go 2 goals clear.

I’d like to see a name and shame league table for quitters. A league table shown at the end of each month showing the top people who have quit the most games.

  1. Jan:
    May 7th, 2008 at 7:55 pm

Why isnt there a training option.

So noobs (like my GF) can first try and learn to dribble with the ball and when theyve mastered that they can go on and learn how to shoot, tackle, corners, etc, etc.

If you have never played a football game before its mighty confussing enough to press the correct button….

  1. Peter:
    May 7th, 2008 at 6:35 pm

Forgot to mention this to my previous post; Other than the feedback I gave, I must say it is truly a great soccer game and you are improving constantly (in contrary on your worst rival).

  1. Peter:
    May 7th, 2008 at 6:33 pm

-Most importantly (and obvious), fix the the constantly dropping player ratings, they are corrupt. very nice idea though, but fix it.

-The lagging responsiveness of dribbling is much improved over fifa 2008, but still very laggy. I don’t know if this is a feature of realism, but I think the EA soccer genre would gain an overall point in median review scores (www.metacritics.com) .

-Less important: Taking the ball, by means of direct contact, from opponents of higher rank (4.5-5 star teams) when you are playing a 3-4 star team is way too difficult. I understand the difficulty of improving the methology, but at least give it a thought.

    -PRACTICE MODE PLEASE

-Cancelling a move is important and adds a new dimension to gameplay i.e., I want to be able to move a player wherever and whenever I want to and not just during certain situations.

-Last but not least, this is important: Explain how the controls work in depth!! How do you curl in all situations? How are all the fancy dribbling-moves performed? As an example, “early cross” is something that I to this date (after playing all fifa´s since the beginning) don’t understand. Also naming it early cross seems to be a big mistake. What is the definition of early anyway?

(if you mind, please read what people say at http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/uefa-euro-2008/ , thats sort of, a lot of feedback for you. Most of it is good feedback aswell. You never seem to reply, but that’s maybe the approach you want to have.)

The PC version SUCKS BIG TIME! why the heck didn’t you port it from the 360/PS3 version (like PES does) and instead you give us PC players the horrid ps2 conversion?
It looks awful and it abosultely plays awful. The menus and presentation are so old…it looks like this whole game (and so was fifa 08) is from 2002.

i like the game, the running speed, the campiagn mode are excellent!!
    BUT 2 FATAL problem:
    1. the match kick off by the same team (user team) in both 1st half & 2nd half
    2. when having penalty during the match, other players are far from the box. (so even the penalty is saved, the taker could easily get the ball back and then one on one again!!)

In the beginning, I’m japanese, so English can be written only a little, sorry.
I like FIFA08 so much, and I like “PRO view” on single play.
But on EURO 2008 Trial, “PRO view on single play” is not found!!
I was so sad… and I did not think that there might be “PRO view on single play” on FIFA09 and became uneasy.
I hope for “PRO view on single play” to be installed in FIFA09.
Hold out and keep developing. I assist, and am looking forward.

good game. prefered the speed of the demo though. maybe slow and fast game speed
for fifa 09 like the other fifas? needs a good broadcast angle. 360 version of the angle isnt too bad but needs to be closer. cheers

great game real drawback on the dutch team, however their attributes match their positions didnt know van persie on the right wing was bald’ shaved for a cure maybe?
well its a shame and the dutch FA (knvb) like making it hard for the guys at EA or EA couldnt give a #*^* about the dutch team.

    - EURO 2008’s running speed is much better than FIFA08. I expected new camera views in game, but hope to see it in FIFA09.

    - You should release EU 2008 earlier in US.
